“So, legally speaking…”
Sherlock pointed at himself.
Then at Tony.
“…I’m supposed to call you Dad?”
His expression had gone far beyond disbelief and landed somewhere in the realm of spiritual exhaustion.
John and Helen were having an equally difficult time.
There came a point where something became so absurd that laughing was the only possible response.
If the subject hadn’t involved Sherlock’s dead parents, the two of them would’ve already been on the floor.
Even with the seriousness of the situation, however, neither could completely suppress their smiles.
Sherlock had been dragged halfway across the world for one rescue mission…
and somehow returned with a legally recognized father figure.
Tony saw Sherlock’s expression and felt his own mood improve immediately.
At last.
Revenge.
After everything Sherlock had done to him in the desert, Tony finally had an opportunity to make the little bastard suffer.
He nodded with shameless satisfaction.
“Legally speaking?”
Tony leaned back in his luxurious seat.
“Yes.”
His grin widened.
“You really should call me Dad.”
Sherlock’s blood pressure shot straight through the ceiling.
He stared at Tony’s face.
That smug smile.
That stupid little mustache twitching every time he tried not to laugh.
Across two lifetimes, Sherlock had never felt such an immediate, overwhelming desire to solve a disagreement with his fists.
Tony saw the look on his face and knew he’d struck gold.
He lowered his eyes.
Adopted a wounded expression.
Then, with all the gravitas of a classic mafia movie, sighed:
“And yet…”
Tony looked mournfully at Sherlock.
“You won’t even call me Godfather.”
John broke first.
Helen followed half a second later.
Both doubled over laughing.
Sherlock went red.
Actually red.
Then he launched himself across the cabin.
“YOU SON OF A—!”
A few minutes later…
Tony and Sherlock were back in their seats.
Both had black eyes.
Both looked pissed.
And both had been assigned adult supervision.
John sat beside Sherlock.
Helen sat beside Tony.
The married couple wore nearly identical expressions.
They were trying very hard not to laugh.
They were also very clearly prepared to physically restrain either idiot if round two started.
Doro alone remained completely unaffected.
She sat happily on the table eating fruit.
Whatever strange social ritual the humans had just performed was none of her concern.
Eventually, Tony gingerly touched the bruise around one eye.
“All right.”
Sherlock glared at him.
“Jokes aside.”
Tony’s expression sobered.
“I’m sorry about what happened to your parents.”
Sherlock remained silent.
“But what I told you is true—”
Sherlock immediately started to rise again.
John grabbed him and forced him back into the seat.
“Sit.”
Sherlock glared.
John didn’t care.
Tony quietly exhaled in relief before continuing.
“The reason I’m telling you all this is because I’ve noticed S.H.I.E.L.D.
getting close to you.”
That got Sherlock’s attention.
Tony leaned forward.
“Listen carefully.”
His voice was completely serious now.
“Your parents didn’t die in a simple plane accident.”
Sherlock’s eyes sharpened.
“There are too many unanswered questions surrounding what happened.”
Tony paused.
“Too many people involved.”
The atmosphere in the cabin changed.
“The reason I never acted like your guardian all these years wasn’t because I forgot about you.”
Tony’s expression tightened.
“It was because too many eyes were on me.”
Sherlock said nothing.
“I don’t know how you got those abilities.” You are reading on g.com, the official source.
Tony gestured vaguely toward him.
“And frankly, after what I saw in that valley, I’m not even going to pretend I understand what you’re capable of.”
He took a breath.
“But if you genuinely don’t want to get dragged into something bigger…”
“Stay away from organizations like S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Tony’s voice hardened.
“Better yet, you never should’ve accepted the mission to rescue me.”
Sherlock’s brow furrowed.
“And you definitely shouldn’t have shown them what you can do.”
Tony was speaking out of genuine concern.
Sherlock could hear it.
But the information behind those words struck him like a bell.
His parents’ deaths hadn’t simply been an accident?
Tony had spent years under surveillance?
And somehow S.H.I.E.L.D.
was connected to the danger surrounding all of this?
Sherlock suddenly felt as though an invisible net had existed around him long before he’d ever transmigrated into this world.
Something old.
Something hidden.
Something that had been waiting for him without his knowledge.
But what surprised Sherlock most was his own reaction.
The moment Tony said his parents had likely died because of human hands rather than simple misfortune…
rage erupted inside him.
Violent.
Immediate.
Almost irrational.
Sherlock knew perfectly well that he had never known those parents.
He had no memories of loving them.
No emotional history with them.
No real relationship at all.
Yet the anger burning in his chest didn’t care.
It kept growing.
Hotter.
Fiercer.
Until one thought emerged with absolute clarity.
Revenge.
Sherlock closed his eyes.
Fine.
I inherited your body.
I suppose that means I inherited your debts too.
If revenge is what you still want…
then I’ll get it for you.
The instant that thought settled into place, the raging fire inside him vanished.
Completely.
In its place remained something quieter.
A strange sense of release.
And beneath that— faint anticipation.
Sherlock took a slow breath.
Then looked at Tony.
“Whether I should’ve gotten involved doesn’t matter anymore.”
Tony frowned.
“I’m already involved.”
Sherlock’s voice remained calm.
“If I never knew the truth, that’d be one thing.”
“But now I know my parents didn’t die in an accident.”
His eyes hardened.
“If I learn they were murdered and still do nothing…”
Sherlock smiled without humor.
“…then I’d be a pretty pathetic son.”
Tony opened his mouth.
Sherlock raised one hand.
“Don’t.”
Tony stopped.
A vicious smile spread across Sherlock’s face.
“And besides…”
His artificial eye seemed almost colder than usual.
“You keep talking like I’m helpless against conspiracies.”
Sherlock leaned back.
“Against all those schemes.”
“Those rats hiding in the sewers.”
His smile widened.
“I’m not convinced they’re actually strong enough to survive pissing me off.”
Tony’s eyebrow rose.
He clearly didn’t understand where that confidence came from.
Then Sherlock started explaining alchemy.
A little.
Then more.
Tony’s expression went through several stages.
Skepticism. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.
Surprise.
Shock.
Disbelief.
And finally— the complete collapse of his scientific worldview.
His gaze slowly moved toward Doro.
She was still sitting on the table.
Eating an orange.
Tony pointed at her.
“Hold on.”
Doro looked up.
Tony stared at Sherlock.
“So you’re telling me…”
He pointed again.
“…that is the result of you attempting some kind of forbidden human transmutation?”
Sherlock nodded.
“A failed attempt.”
Tony stared.
“And she’s actually alive?”
“Very.”
Doro peeled another piece of orange.
Tony looked as though reality had personally betrayed him.
Sherlock’s expression became increasingly malicious.
“Yes.”
He gestured toward Doro.
“I created her.”
Tony slowly lowered his hand.
“The price was my left arm and one eye.”
That wiped some of the humor from Tony’s face.
Sherlock, however, continued.
“So strictly speaking…”
He smiled.
“Doro is my child.”
Tony blinked.
“A genuine soul born from my own flesh and blood.”
Sherlock paused.
The evil in his expression intensified.
Tony immediately sensed danger.
“Which means…”
Sherlock turned toward Doro.
“…strictly speaking, Tony is your grandpa.”
Tony’s face froze.
Sherlock pointed cheerfully.
“Doro.”
“Doro?”
“Say ‘Grandpa.'”
Doro had no idea what a grandpa was.
That had never stopped her from trusting Sherlock before.
She immediately put down her orange.
Turned toward Tony.
And smiled sweetly.
“Grandpa!”
Silence.
Everyone saw the exact moment something inside Tony Stark cracked.
His face twitched.
Then cracked a little more.
Then his entire expression collapsed.
He pointed at Sherlock.
Unable to speak.
Tony Stark— lifelong bachelor.
Legendary playboy.
Not even married.
—had somehow acquired a legally questionable child.
A godson.
And now, apparently, a granddaughter.
The worst part?
Tony was single.
Sherlock was single.
Doro was— well, Doro.
Nobody in this ridiculous family tree had even managed to get married.
And yet Tony Stark had somehow become a grandfather.
He stared at Sherlock.
Sherlock smiled back.
Doro happily returned to her orange.
Tony experienced one overwhelming regret.
He never should’ve teased Sherlock about being his godson.
He should’ve taken this secret to the grave.
