But today’s Jonathan was completely different from the person he had been before.

Had this happened before he awakened the memories of his previous life, he probably would have blushed so badly that he couldn’t even raise his head.

Now, however, Jonathan’s thoughts were simple.Full novel: Marvel: I Steal Powers Across Worlds — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

If you’re offering me a chance like this, why wouldn’t I take it?

Without the slightest hesitation, he wrapped an arm around Gwen’s slender waist and pulled her into his embrace.

Gwen froze in shock.

Her lips parted slightly, and her eyes widened in disbelief.

George, who was driving in the front, saw everything through the rearview mirror.

He stared blankly for half a second before the corners of his mouth quietly curved upward.

The kid had finally gotten a clue.

The engine roared as the police cruiser headed toward Midtown High School.

After arriving at the school and saying goodbye to George, Gwen naturally linked her arm through Jonathan’s, and the two walked inside together.

Jonathan had no objections.

In fact, he rather enjoyed it.

Their unusually intimate behavior left quite a few students staring in disbelief.

Everyone had always assumed there was something between them.

The problem was that Jonathan had previously given everyone the impression of being somewhat timid, reserved, and too afraid to make the first move.

Now that he suddenly seemed like a completely different person, it was only natural that everyone would be stunned.

Among those watching in disbelief was Peter Parker.

He was standing in front of his locker, sorting through his things, when his hands suddenly stopped moving.

No matter how one looked at it, Gwen Stacy had always been the girl of his dreams.

Now, however, she was walking arm in arm with another boy.

Someone with Peter’s personality would never hold a grudge against Jonathan over it.

But that didn’t mean he wasn’t upset.

Just then, a heavy thud echoed through the hallway.

Peter felt a powerful impact strike him from behind.

He sucked in a sharp breath from the pain and turned around.

Eugene “Flash” Thompson stood behind him, built like an ox.

The basketball that had just struck Peter’s head was still bouncing across the floor.

“Sorry.

I didn’t realize you were so easy to knock over.”

Flash apologized with his mouth, but his expression made it perfectly clear that he had done it deliberately.

His obnoxious grin didn’t conceal the slightest hint of remorse.

Before being bitten by the spider, Peter was already one of the school’s most notorious punching bags.

Whenever Flash went too far, all Peter could do was grit his teeth and endure it.

Usually, as long as Peter remained silent, Flash would lose interest after tormenting him for a while.

Today, however, was different.

Flash had just watched the girl of his dreams walking arm in arm with another boy, and the anger boiling inside him needed an outlet.

He didn’t dare cause trouble for Jonathan directly.

Jonathan was Gwen’s closest friend, and everyone knew her father was the local police chief.

Flash wanted no part of that kind of trouble.

That made Peter Parker the perfect target for his frustration.

“Hey, Peter.

You’re awfully quiet.

Don’t tell me you think I did that on purpose?”

Flash walked over and deliberately blocked Peter’s path.

Using his larger body to intimidate him, he forced Peter backward one step at a time.

Peter didn’t dare confront him directly and could only continue retreating.

Eventually, his back hit the wall.

There was nowhere left to go.

“Gwen, I’ll be right back.”

After seeing what was happening, Jonathan turned and said something to Gwen.

Peter was destined to become Spider-Man. The source of this chapter is g.com.

Jonathan certainly wasn’t going to pass up an opportunity to earn some goodwill with him in advance.

Gwen became worried as soon as she heard him.

She wanted to tell Jonathan not to act impulsively, but she was afraid that saying so would extinguish the courage he had finally managed to summon.

In the end, she could only say softly, “Be careful, Jonathan.”

Concern filled her eyes, and her brows knitted slightly.

Jonathan didn’t say anything else.

He merely smiled, nodded to reassure her, and walked toward Peter and Flash.

“Hey, Thompson.”

Jonathan stopped behind the larger boy and patted him on the shoulder.

Flash turned around, and his expression immediately darkened.

Although he desperately wanted to beat Jonathan senseless, the current atmosphere at school still made him wary.

Suppressing his anger, he asked impatiently, “What do you want?”

“Nothing important.”

Jonathan’s tone was casual, as though they were merely having an ordinary conversation.

“I’d just like you to leave Parker alone.”

His words sounded light and casual, but the challenge behind them was unmistakable.

Everyone nearby heard it.

Flash heard it more clearly than anyone.

He truly hadn’t expected Jonathan to come looking for trouble on his own.

That realization delighted him.

If Flash had approached Jonathan first, the confrontation could easily get back to George Stacy.

But Jonathan had stepped in on his own.

As far as Flash was concerned, that gave him all the excuse he needed.

More importantly, seeing Gwen clinging to Jonathan’s arm had already left Flash seething with anger.
