Next morning.

The sky was reddish, with the horizon glowing white.

The yellow leaves of the autumn trees rustled in the wind, and the people of Westview began a new day with the sunrise.Full novel: Marvel: Living the Laid-Back Life — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But today’s atmosphere was obviously more serious than before…

Boom boom boom!

!

!

Levi had a regular schedule and always got up early, but someone was already knocking on the door first thing in the morning.

It was Wanda.

She had brought two men in suits and leather shoes who claimed to be CIA agents investigating the murders.

“Levi, please explain to me.

The two of us came back together last night, and we didn’t go anywhere along the way.”

Wanda spoke first.

“Sorry, Wanda, but please allow me to ask the questions.”

One of the agents interrupted Wanda, then looked at Levi and said in a deep voice, “Mr.

Levi, there were many casualties at the East Warehouse, and those people had a conflict with you yesterday.”

“Is it those little bastards?”

Levi was slightly taken aback.

He understood that the agent claiming to be from the CIA was here to investigate the gang members’ deaths from last night.

As for whether the two men were actually CIA agents, that was still open to question.

However, the two now suspected that Wanda was responsible for the deaths of those gang members because she was the only person in Westview with such a strange ability.

Kill without a trace.

According to the two agents, the police had investigated the scene all night and found no clues, even after reconstructing what had happened using professional forensic techniques…

They concluded that all of the victims had simply died suddenly.

Obviously, some kind of supernatural power was involved.

“Wanda was with me last night.

She didn’t go anywhere.”

Levi told the truth, but not quite all of it.

After all, he had killed those men, but neither the CIA nor S.W.O.R.D.

could possibly suspect him.

“Mr.

Levi, you are responsible for what you say.”

The CIA agent stared seriously at the young man in front of him, hoping to detect some sign of a lie from his microexpressions.

However, Levi wasn’t lying.

Immediately, he exchanged a glance with his companion before continuing, “Wanda, I would like to ask you to come and examine the scene.

As an Avenger, you have a responsibility to take on this task.”

“No problem, but he’s coming too.”

Wanda pointed at Levi, asking him to accompany her simply because she didn’t want to investigate the scene alone.

Hearing this, Levi was also a little surprised.

“No problem.”

The CIA agent hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement.

Anyway, a large crowd of reporters had gathered at the crime scene.

Even though it was currently sealed off, many photos had already been circulated.

…

Not long after, the CIA agent drove the two of them to the East Warehouse.

Once they arrived, the warehouse was surrounded by police tape, and officers were patrolling back and forth.

After simply showing their credentials, Levi and Wanda were brought into the crime scene.

“Without a single clue.

It was a perfect crime.”

Detective Inspector Gordon of the police department, who was also involved in the investigation, explained from the side.

The CIA agents stood behind them, observing the expressions of Wanda and Levi.

After a moment, one of them asked Wanda, who had been examining the scene, “Did you see anything?”

“I didn’t sense anything.

He hid it too well.

Where are the bodies?”

Wanda asked.

“Wanda, you seem to be on the right track.”

Seeing her serious expression, Levi couldn’t help but smile slightly.

It seemed that doing something else could help distract Wanda from her troubles.

“I just want to do my best.”

Wanda replied.

In fact, she was very resistant to participating in any action at the moment, but seeing such a brutal killing in the town where her family would live in the future, she couldn’t simply sit back and do nothing.

She intended to take it seriously.

“Some of them haven’t been transported back yet.

They’re in the police vehicle outside.”

Inspector Gordon took over the conversation.

Without delay, everyone went to the transport vehicle outside the warehouse.

The door was open, and a white sheet had been pulled back to reveal the pale corpse underneath.

There were no marks on the body.

“The medical examiner performed autopsies on the two remains and found no disease.

They were all in good health, and one of them was even in comparable physical condition to an athlete.”

Detective Gordon was full of emotion.

“The surveillance footage from the surrounding area didn’t show anything unusual, either.”

“Perhaps it was a supernatural event.”

Levi added, looking at the CIA agent again.

The CIA agent ignored him and instead looked at Wanda.

“What did you see?”

“Nothing.

They died just like normal people…”

Wanda shook her head.

She really hadn’t seen anything.

There wasn’t any dark matter or other energy present at the scene or within the bodies.

If there had been, it would have been impossible to escape her perception.

Even the souls of the victims showed no reaction…

One of them slowly said, “I’m sorry to bother you two.

You can go back for now.

By the way, this was a poisoning incident, Gordon.

You understand?”

“Understood.”

Inspector Gordon didn’t hesitate.

It was the first time he had encountered a supernatural event, and he knew that something like this shouldn’t be revealed to the public.

A moment later.

Everyone gradually left the crime scene.

The police completely sealed off the warehouse for the time being, and the surrounding roads were closed to traffic.

However, with such a brutal murder case, it was impossible for anyone to dare come near the place anyway.

Before long, aside from the police officers guarding the warehouse perimeter, there was no one else around the entire East Warehouse.

However.

No one knew that inside the empty warehouse, a rabbit suddenly jumped out from a corner.

The next second.

The rabbit spat out a ball of black aura, and the black aura gradually condensed into a human form.

It was a woman.

“Poison?”

She looked around, took a deep breath, and sneered, “Oh, I’m afraid this isn’t the work of some necromancer!”

If Levi had been there, he would have immediately recognized the woman as Agatha Harkness!

Unlike Wanda, who possessed Chaos Magic but had never properly studied magic—not even a decent spellbook—Agatha had read countless books.

So she could tell at a glance that this was clearly the work of a necromancer!

But…

“Damn it, I can’t sense where you are…”

Agatha couldn’t sense the owner of this aura, either.

She could only detect a trace of magical energy and found nothing else…

The other party’s magical attainments were higher than hers!

“Why on earth did you come here?

Wanda?

Chaos Magic?”

Agatha muttered to herself, and then her eyes hardened.

She absolutely could not let anyone take the Chaos Magic away.

Such powerful energy should belong to her.

She had been born for magic!

“I’ll find you and make you my puppet!”

Her face twisted slightly with ferocity.

Black energy gathered in her hands, and with a powerful wave, her entire body transformed into black aura and disappeared.

Boom!

Outside.

Noticing the strange disturbance, the police rushed into the warehouse, but found nothing inside.

“It’s strange.

I heard someone talking…”
