“You two go farther away first. I have something to take care of. ”
Tony stared at the pile of weapons manufactured by Stark Industries.
“You’re staying here?”
Ethan looked at him in confusion.
“No. I’ll catch up with you. I don’t want my weapons falling into the hands of people who’ll use them to hurt others. ”
Tony’s expression became serious.
Sean understood what he meant.
He grabbed Ethan and ran away from the base, putting as much distance between them and the weapons as possible before stopping at a safe location.
Once Tony saw them leave, he activated the powerful flamethrowers installed in both hands.
As he walked around the base, he burned the massive stockpile of weapons one after another.
“I don’t want to make any more of this damn stuff. ”
Tony muttered to himself.
Once all the weapons had been set ablaze, Tony opened the panel on his left arm and forcefully pressed the red button.
Boom!
Flames erupted from the legs of the Iron Man armor, propelling the suit into the sky.
The burning weapons exploded moments later, creating an enormous blast that tore through the base.
“Woohoo!”
Tony shouted excitedly as he soared into the sky.
He even opened his faceplate and looked toward Sean in the distance, as though he were saying,
Look!
How awesome is my armor?
“Oh, shit!”
Tony’s joy turned into misery.Halfway through his flight, the armor ran out of fuel.
His body immediately began plummeting from the sky.
Fortunately, Tony’s shock-absorption system was pretty decent, and he landed in soft sand.
He didn’t suffer any serious injuries.
Sean immediately burst out laughing.
Tony was lying headfirst in the sand.
His head was completely buried while his legs kicked wildly in the air.
His hands desperately pushed against the ground as he tried to pull his head free.
Sean stopped Ethan from going over to help.
Instead, he calmly pulled out his phone and switched it to camera mode.
He took several pictures of Tony from different angles.
Only after thoroughly documenting the embarrassing scene did Sean finally pull Tony out with one hand.
“Ptui! Ptui! Ptui!”
Finally seeing the light of day again, Tony immediately removed his helmet and spat the sand out of his mouth.
“Three months without seeing you, and you’ve gotten so hungry that you’ll even eat sand?”
Sean wasn’t about to miss an opportunity to make fun of Tony.
He had seen Tony’s expression during the entire flight perfectly clearly.
“I’m going to build a better one when we get back. ”
Tony removed the armor and spoke gloomily.
He had completely lost face in front of Sean.
And now there were several photographs immortalizing the moment.
This was destined to become a lifelong stain on the legendary Iron Man’s reputation.
“Let’s get out of here first. The wind is kicking up too much sand. ”
Sean picked Tony up with his left arm and lifted Ethan with his right before running toward the location where the agents had gathered.The explosion had been far too large to go unnoticed.
By the time Sean was halfway there, Coulson had already led the agents over.
“Are you all right?”
Coulson climbed out of the helicopter and gave Sean a meaningful look.
“I’m great. Right now, I just want to get home. I miss my cheeseburgers. ”
Tony couldn’t be bothered with these agents who had arrived after everything was over.
He just wanted to get back to Stark Industries as quickly as possible.
He turned toward Ethan.
“Ethan, are you coming back with me, or are you going to look for your family?”
Ethan forced a smile.
“My family is already dead. I have nothing left to worry about. ”
“I want to go back to my town. ”
“Don’t think about it too much, Ethan. ”
Tony tried to comfort him.
“Come over to my place whenever you have time. Sean and I can take you out and show you around. I guarantee you’ll like it. ”
“Hey, don’t say ‘Sean and I. ‘ I’ve never been to that place with you. ”
Sean immediately objected.
“All right, Tony. I’ll come find you guys when I get the chance. ”
Everyone boarded the helicopter and left this desolate land behind.
Inside the office of the S.H.I.E.L.D.
Director.
Fury listened to Coulson’s report.
His right index finger unconsciously tapped against the desk, producing a steady rhythm.
“That’s everything, Director.
“After Sean and the others had left, Coulson had sent agents to investigate the terrorists’
base.
The explosions had caused the interior of the base to collapse.
However, several corpses had been discovered around the outer perimeter, along with numerous tactical rifles that had been snapped in half.
“All right. Continue investigating. ”
Fury hung up the phone.
His computer displayed all the information S.H.I.E.L.D.
had gathered about Sean.
Fury stared at the photograph Sean had taken after enrolling in school.
“Sean… Sean. ”
After thinking for a moment, Fury suddenly picked up the phone and dialed a number.
“Director, what do you need?”
A lazy, sensual voice came from the other end.
“Natasha, infiltrate Stark Industries.
