Bored out of his mind, Sean poked Logan with his index finger a few times before sticking his head between Marie and Logan.
“What?”
“Seat belts!”
Sean pointed it out seriously.
“Don’t you know how to drive safely? You could get a ticket for this. ”
Logan held his cigar between two fingers and impatiently replied,
“Listen carefully. I don’t need you reminding me. If you keep nagging me, I’ll… ”
Boom!
Crash!
Shatter!
A tree suddenly fell across the road ahead, blocking the RV.
Because of the powerful inertia, Logan, who hadn’t properly fastened his seat belt, was thrown straight out of the driver’s seat.
He flew several meters before crashing into the snow and lying there motionless.
Good citizen Marie had followed the traffic rules and fastened her seat belt.
She was merely startled and wasn’t seriously hurt.
Sean, meanwhile, stood perfectly upright like a bell.
He wasn’t affected in the slightest.
He sensed a murderous intent nearby and looked toward a patch of bushes on his right.
A playful smile appeared on his face.
Whoosh!
“Holy crap! Fire! Someone put it out!”
As a guest, Sean felt obligated to help the owner protect his home.
He stomped on the burning area behind him, extinguishing the flames from the leaking gas, then carried the gas canister farther away.”Are you all right, Marie?”
After putting out the fire, Sean climbed into the driver’s area.
“Sean, I’m stuck!”
Marie was delighted to see that Sean was unharmed.
“Stay calm, stay calm. I’ll pull you out first. ”
He intended to carry Marie out in his arms.
But Marie had just finished eating the chocolate and hadn’t put her gloves back on yet.
She panicked.
“Don’t touch me! Don’t touch me!”
“Relax. Look, nothing happened. ”
Without waiting for her to put her gloves back on, Sean grabbed her hand and placed it around his neck before lifting her out.
Marie stared at him with wide eyes.
Her bare hand had been in direct contact with Sean.
Yet he hadn’t reacted at all.
This had never happened since she gained her ability.
Could her mutant power have disappeared?
“This… this… ”
Marie stood there in astonishment, unable to find the words.
“Don’t worry. My ability has permissions. ”
Sean gave her an ambiguous smile.
“Your clearance isn’t high enough. ”
Sean had deliberately tested it.
Marie hadn’t absorbed any of his power.
Or perhaps her own ability had automatically avoided absorbing it.
Either way, Sean was quite satisfied with the result.Logan’s incredibly powerful healing factor allowed him to recover quickly.
The wounds on his face visibly regenerated until they disappeared completely, without leaving even a scar.
It was practically more effective and safer than plastic surgery.
“You two all right?”
Logan asked with concern.
“Perfectly fine. ”
“I even saved your home. You owe me a meal next time. ”
“What happened?”
“Your home caught fire just now. I put it out. ”
“Then… there’s an enemy!”
Logan’s animal instincts suddenly sounded an alarm.
His claws extended as he warily scanned his surroundings.
Using his superhuman sense of smell, he carefully sniffed the air and detected someone else nearby.
The fallen tree was clearly no accident.
Someone had snapped it in half with brute force.
Their new enemy was extremely powerful.
Roar!
“DEMACIA!”
A beast-like roar rang out.
A figure suddenly charged out of the bushes at incredible speed.
Even Logan couldn’t react in time.
The attacker slammed into him and wrapped both arms around him in a crushing grip.
The force was immense.
Logan couldn’t break free.He desperately twisted his body and threw the attacker away.
The figure flew several meters before crashing into a small tree and snapping it in half.
Even with Logan’s body as tough as steel, the impact left him dizzy and disoriented.
His vision blurred.
The attacker picked up a branch as thick as a man’s arm and walked toward Logan.
Before Logan could recover, he raised the branch and viciously swung it toward his head.
“Sabretooth, you two brothers finally reunited. You don’t have to get this excited about it. ”
Sean casually caught the branch with one hand and grinned at the now-unhinged
Sabretooth.
Logan was still recovering nearby and didn’t hear Sean.
Otherwise, since he was desperately searching for his lost memories, he would definitely have questioned Sean about why he had called the two of them brothers….
