[Victini]
[Types: Fire / Psychic]
[Level: 1]
[Moves: Quick Attack, Searing Shot, Confusion, Incinerate, Final Gambit, Inferno, Helping Hand, Overheat (Ultimate Skill, learnable at Level 60)]
[Description: A Pokémon that symbolizes ‘victory.’ Its body contains limitless energy, which it can transfer to other Pokémon through physical contact.
Legend has it that once Victini is fully grown, the Trainer who captures it will never suffer defeat.]
[Attribute Granted to Host: Stamina Enhancement]
“So it really is Victini?”
Only after seeing the status panel did Adrian Cross finally recover from his surprise.
Victini—
Adrian Cross was no stranger to this Pokémon.
Thanks to its adorable appearance, it was extremely popular among the newer generations of Pokémon.
In Adrian Cross’s mind, Victini, Celebi, and Jirachi had even once formed the three cutest Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.
But despite its adorable appearance and equally endearing personality, its power certainly didn’t disgrace its status as a Mythical Pokémon!
Its tiny body could store limitless amounts of energy, and the intensity of that energy was even greater than the energy contained within Rayquaza.
Moreover, Victini could use that power to replenish the energy and stamina of other Pokémon, making it one of the greatest support Pokémon imaginable.
“Tini, tini?”
While Adrian Cross was lost in thought, Victini seemed to confirm his identity and excitedly flew toward him.
More importantly, the spot it chose to occupy happened to be Adrian Cross’s left shoulder.
“Bi-bi!”
Celebi immediately protested when it saw its throne being stolen.
“Tini, tini!”
Victini clearly wasn’t the type to back down from trouble either.
It actually made a face at Celebi before wrapping its arms around Adrian Cross’s head!
“Bi-bi!”
Celebi puffed out its cheeks at the sight, flew over to Adrian Cross’s other side, and started hugging his head too.
“Tini, tini!”
And just like that, the two little Pokémon began an extremely childish game of tug-of-war.
Adrian Cross, who happened to be the rope in this particular contest, naturally couldn’t put up with it any longer.
He immediately grabbed one Pokémon in each hand.
He placed Celebi on his right shoulder and Victini on his left, then handed each of them a treat.
“No fighting.
Got it?”
Seeing the two little Pokémon instantly behave themselves, Adrian Cross couldn’t help wanting to laugh.
Of all his summoned Pokémon, Rayquaza was the only one that looked remotely imposing and majestic.
The other two looked completely harmless!
Adrian Cross could already imagine a scene in the future.
When he eventually confronted that purple sweet potato, Thanos would wave a hand, and the massive, intimidating members of the Black Order would stride forward, each of them looking like they could flatten an army.
Then Adrian Cross would wave his own hand…
And Celebi and Victini would pop out with a poof.
“Wouldn’t that look way too ridiculous?”
Adrian Cross could only mutter helplessly.
All he could do was pray that the System would summon a few more huge, intimidating Pokémon for him next time.
Cute Pokémon were great, but having too many of them made his lineup look a little too unserious.
“System, start drawing a move!”
After finishing with Victini’s status panel, Adrian Cross familiarly began the move draw.
[Drawing a move…
Congratulations, host.
You have obtained the move ‘Overheat.’]
The System’s result momentarily stunned Adrian Cross before leaving him overjoyed.
He hadn’t expected to actually draw Victini’s ultimate move—
Overheat!
[Overheat]
[Type: Fire]
[Move Description: Unleashes immensely powerful flames.
After use, the user’s offensive power is reduced for 2 hours.]
This move was famous for its tremendous destructive power.
Even Hyper Beam, itself renowned for its sheer offensive might, couldn’t compare to it.
Just as its name, Overheat, implied, it was a move that unleashed an excessive amount of power in a single instant in exchange for explosive destructive force!
Its only drawback was that it was purely a single-target attack and couldn’t be used for wide-area destruction.
Even so, Adrian Cross was delighted.
After all, this was the first time he had ever drawn one of his Pokémon’s ultimate moves.
Once the move draw was finished, Adrian Cross naturally turned his attention to the attribute Victini had granted him.
“System, why can’t I feel what this ‘Stamina Enhancement’ has done to me?”
After carefully examining his body, Adrian Cross asked in confusion.
Unlike the Physical Enhancement Rayquaza had granted him, this time he couldn’t really feel any changes to his body.
[Stamina Enhancement doubles the host’s internal energy reserves while reducing stamina consumption by half.]
After hearing the System’s explanation, Adrian Cross finally understood.
No wonder he couldn’t feel any obvious physical difference.
An increase in energy reserves naturally wouldn’t be noticeable under ordinary circumstances when he was already fully rested.
“Hmm…
My luck really wasn’t bad at all.”
He had obtained a new Pokémon on his final summon and had also completely resolved the issue of the Masters of the Mystic Arts’ attitude toward him.
Thoroughly satisfied, Adrian Cross was in an excellent mood.
“I think I’ll go for a walk.”
For once, he decided to head outside and stroll around the city.
Fifth Avenue was still undergoing reconstruction because of the earlier battle between Abomination and Hulk, but who cared?
Adrian Cross was in a good mood.
However…
He had barely made it downstairs and opened the shop door to enjoy the sunlight when he noticed someone rushing toward him at high speed.
Adrian Cross didn’t even bother becoming wary.
With his current strength, dealing with ordinary people was basically like playing whack-a-mole—one hit, one down.
“Mr.
Adrian Cross.”
The approaching man had clearly been given instructions beforehand.
As soon as he came closer, he first produced a card to identify himself.
It was the distinctive identification carried by S.H.I.E.L.D.
agents.
“Please don’t leave.
Director Fury is on his way here now.
There’s something he needs your help with.”
Hearing that the notoriously unlucky Fury wanted to see him, Adrian Cross frowned.
“Is it really that urgent?”
“Mr.
Adrian Cross, actually…”
The agent gave him a bitter smile.
“It’s a little more urgent than you think.”
“Because I’ve already been waiting here for you for ten days.”
“…What?”
