Watching Hulk and Abomination brawl their way closer and closer, Adrian Cross could only marvel at what a ridiculous coincidence this was.
“For crying out loud.
If those two things bring their fight over here, what’s going to happen to my shop?”
Looking at the devastation left in the two monsters’ wake, Adrian Cross swallowed hard.
Originally, he’d been somewhat interested in watching the two of them beat each other senseless.
But now he couldn’t simply sit back and watch from the sidelines.
“Rayquaza—I’ve got your first job!”
Adrian Cross immediately turned toward Rayquaza above him.
“If those two get anywhere near this place, get out there and beat the hell out of both of them!
Don’t let them touch my shop!”
“Rrrah?”
Rayquaza glanced disdainfully at Hulk and Abomination before letting out a low growl.
“Which one?
Both of them!
Give them both a beating—but hit the one without the shorts harder!”
“You coward!
Look at this power!
Look at this incredible power!”
Blonsky roared wildly as he hurled a sports car at Hulk.
“This is what this power was always meant to be!
And you—you coward—you’re afraid of it!
You don’t deserve it!”
Emil Blonsky.
That was Abomination’s name.
He had originally been a special forces soldier under General Ross and a participant in the recently revived Super Soldier Program.
As a restarted version of the same program that had once created Captain America, Blonsky had likewise been injected with an inferior version of the Super Soldier Serum.
He had survived the procedure and successfully gained strength far beyond that of an ordinary human.
But not long ago, while attempting to capture Dr.
Banner, the super-soldier Blonsky had been utterly crushed after Banner transformed into Hulk.
The experience had left Blonsky deeply frustrated.
And when he discovered that Dr.
Banner himself was nothing more than a “coward” who feared his own power, Blonsky became even more unwilling to accept his defeat.
How could some bastard who had simply gotten lucky possess that kind of power, while he—a super-soldier—couldn’t even defeat a coward?
So not long ago, Blonsky had done something insane.
Driven by his obsession with obtaining Hulk’s power, Blonsky forced Samuel Sterns to inject him with Bruce Banner’s gamma-irradiated blood.
“Guns and bullets?”
“Pathetic toys.”
Seeing the soldiers in the distance opening fire on both him and Hulk, Abomination gave a vicious grin, picked up an enormous chunk of rubble, and hurled it straight toward them!
Hearing the screams that followed, he smiled with savage delight.
Then he noticed the reporters farther away, their cameras broadcasting everything live.
Abomination became even more excited.
“That’s it!
That’s exactly right!”
“I’m the strongest!
I’m invincible!
Let the whole world see it—every last person in Manhattan will tremble beneath my feet!”
He roared toward the cameras before grabbing Hulk and sending him flying with another brutal throw!
“General!
Casualties have already exceeded four hundred!
Networks across the country are broadcasting this live, and the Security Council is demanding that we deal with those two monsters immediately.
We may need to request backup!”
Elsewhere, the stern-faced General Ross had worn a grim expression from the moment the incident began.
As a hard-line military commander, he had arrived at the battlefield almost immediately.
He had witnessed the entire battle unfolding below.
An enormous number of people had been injured, while the destruction of buildings and vehicles was even more severe.
Yet when he heard his subordinate’s suggestion, Ross shot him a furious glare.
“Request backup from whom?
S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
“Do you have any idea what the military stands to lose if we ask them for help?”
That was the biggest reason General Ross refused to call for assistance.
No matter how much destruction the two monsters below caused, once everything was over, he could still use various means to deal with the aftermath.
But if he requested S.H.I.E.L.D.’s assistance, then Nick Fury—that scheming bastard—would inevitably seize the opportunity to demand something in return.
In fact, General Ross had a suspicion.
“S.H.I.E.L.D.
definitely knows what’s happening here by now.
That bastard Nick Fury is probably sitting there drinking coffee, waiting for me to come begging!”
The hard-line general’s face actually reddened with anger as he spoke.
“But General, their battle has already spread across five city blocks…
Oh my God!”
And he wasn’t alone.
Countless viewers watching the two monsters battle on television cried out at exactly the same moment!
They had clearly seen Hulk and Abomination leap into the air simultaneously, each smashing a fist into the other’s face before both began plummeting toward the ground!
For monsters like them, a fall from that height obviously wasn’t a problem.
In fact, similar scenes had already happened several times during their battle.
That wasn’t why everyone was shocked.
The reason was that as Hulk and Abomination fell…
Another colossal creature appeared in the sky!
Hulk and Abomination were both nearly three meters tall, monstrous giants by any normal standard.
Yet beside this creature, even they looked small!
Two enormous claws shot toward them, one seizing Hulk and the other Abomination.
The next instant, the two infamous monsters were smashed away like a pair of sandbags!
BOOM!
With an earthshaking crash, both of them disappeared beneath collapsed walls and shattered rubble.
“ROOOAAAR!”
The enormous creature unleashed a deafening roar, as though proclaiming its existence and majesty to the entire world!
Its magnificent form made countless viewers in front of their televisions cry out in disbelief.
“My God!
That’s a dragon!”
“Holy crap!
That’s incredible!”
“How is that possible?
Dragons actually exist?!”
“Where did it come from?
Did anyone see it appear?!”
“Oh my God, the three of them are going to fight!”
Amid the countless cries of astonishment, Hulk and Abomination climbed out of the ruins.
The three enormous creatures now stood apart from one another, forming a triangle across the battlefield.
“Hulk…
ANGRY!”
“What kind of monster are you?”
Hulk and Abomination both stared at Rayquaza in the sky.
Rayquaza merely looked down at them coldly with its golden dragon eyes.
“ROOOAAAR!”
As Rayquaza unleashed another deafening draconic roar, the battle between the three monsters began in an instant.
