After leaving the Statue of Liberty, Daniel and Carol headed to the top of the Empire State Building.
This place was even higher.
At 443.2 meters tall, it offered a much broader view of the city. Looking down from above, people were reduced to tiny black dots moving between the streets.
Carol couldn’t help marveling at the scenery once again.
Of course, she repeated the same few lines she’d already used several times.
Daniel listened for a while and couldn’t help thinking that his sister really wasn’t the poetic type.
After hearing her repeat the same descriptions over and over, he suddenly felt that Carol’s decision to join the military instead of attending college wasn’t just about passion.
Her grades probably had something to do with it too.
Someone with Carol’s academic record would probably have struggled through university classes every day.
Headaches.
Assignments.
Exams.
It would have driven her crazy.
’I think I’ve discovered the real reason,’ Daniel thought.
Unfortunately, he didn’t dare say it out loud.
He was afraid of getting beaten.
Not that getting hit would actually hurt him.
The problem was that he couldn’t fight back.
And whenever Carol punched him, he had to consciously relax his body so she wouldn’t injure herself.
Otherwise... just imagine punching a giant block of steel.
Would the steel hurt?
Or would your hand hurt?
Besides, Daniel’s body was already much tougher than steel.
So, definitely not worth it.
’I’ll just keep that observation to myself.’
Shaking his head, he quietly buried the thought.
By the time they came down from the Empire State Building, it was already noon.
They had left early, but sightseeing involved a lot more waiting than expected.
Walking, standing in line, waiting for elevators, waiting for tickets.
All of it consumed a surprising amount of time.
"Daniel, are you hungry?"
After her excitement faded, Carol finally noticed her stomach protesting.
"A little."
"Since you’re hungry, I guess I’ll accompany you to lunch."
Daniel stared at her.
There it was again.
The classic Carol maneuver.
Throwing responsibility onto someone else.
What could he even say at this point?
Eventually, they found a small restaurant for lunch.
Neither of them dared enter the restaurant inside the Empire State Building.
The prices looked terrifying.
Daniel was fairly certain that if they ate there, the money they had left for the trip would disappear instantly.
The restaurant they chose happened to be directly across from the Empire State Building.
Thanks to his eyesight, Daniel could clearly see the luxurious restaurant inside the skyscraper from where he sat.
The decorations.
The furniture.
The atmosphere.
There were only two words that described it.
Pure luxury.
As he ate his inexpensive meal, Daniel silently made a promise to himself.
’One day, I’m going to eat there every day.’
Then he added another condition.
’As long as the money is earned honestly.’
It had to be his own money.
Money earned through legitimate means.
Nothing shady.
To be honest, making money would be ridiculously easy for him.
With his abilities, if he ever found himself broke, he could simply target a few criminal organizations, take their dirty money, and live comfortably for years.
But he didn’t want to do that.
People needed principles.
They needed limits.
A sense of morality.
At least, that’s what Daniel believed.
And in his own opinion, he was still a fairly decent person.
After lunch, the siblings continued their sightseeing.
A short subway ride later, they arrived at Central Park.
The park was packed with people.
Tourists.
Local residents.
Families.
Couples.
Joggers.
Crowds moved through the pathways in every direction, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere.
After discussing what to do first, they decided to visit the zoo.
The animals were undeniably adorable.
Even the roaring lions and massive brown bears failed to stir any fear in Daniel.
He watched them with complete calm.
’Why would I be afraid?’
’Even if they somehow escaped, they still couldn’t beat me.’
After leaving the zoo, they visited an art museum.
That decision quickly became a mistake.
Neither of them possessed even a shred of artistic talent.
They entered the museum looking confused.
They left the museum looking equally confused.
The entire experience could be summarized with one sentence.
’I have no idea what I’m looking at, but it seems very impressive.’
Afterward, they headed to the carousel.
This was Daniel’s favorite attraction.
Ever since he rode one at the age of five, he had loved carousels.
Years had passed, but his devotion never changed.
Even when groups of children stared at him with strange expressions, Daniel remained completely unfazed.
He happily sat on one of the wooden horses, looking as if he’d found true happiness.
Eventually, they became a little tired and began strolling along one of the pedestrian paths beside the water.
Well...
Carol was tired.
Daniel wasn’t tired at all.
In fact, he was seriously considering going back for another ride on the carousel.
The two walked slowly in comfortable silence.
Neither spoke.
Daniel was lost in thought.
’Should I visit Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters?’
From what he vaguely remembered, the school wasn’t too far from New York City.
It was located in a nearby area.
’Maybe I can fly over there tonight and take a look.’
The idea intrigued him.
He had been in this world for quite a while now.
Yet he still hadn’t met any of the famous people from the movies he’d watched in his previous life.
The closest thing had been Captain America and that was only through photographs.
Daniel wanted to meet them in person.
After all, some of those people had once been his idols.
His favorite was still that particular genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.
Tony Stark.
He’d watched the Iron Man trilogy multiple times back in his previous life.
As his thoughts wandered, Daniel stopped paying attention to the path ahead.
Then...
Bang!
He collided with someone running towards him.
Instinctively, Daniel tensed his body.
The unfortunate runner immediately bounced backward as though he’d slammed into a concrete wall.
The man flew nearly ten feet before crashing onto the ground.
At that moment, Tony Stark felt that fate hated him.
Eighteen year old Tony was currently deep in his rebellious phase.
Since childhood, his father had sent him away to boarding schools, and their relationship had never been particularly good.
Now that summer vacation had finally arrived, he’d returned home only to end up arguing with Howard Stark all over again.
Already in a terrible mood, he’d come to Central Park to clear his head.
Then he’d noticed a familiar problem.
A group of bodyguards followed him everywhere.
Tony was convinced they had been sent by his father to spy on him.
So he’d started running, hoping to shake them off.
Unfortunately, he hadn’t gotten very far before colliding with Daniel.
And somehow this guy’s body was absurdly hard.
Tony felt as though he’d run into a moving wall.
Now he was the one lying on the ground.
’That hurts.’
Tony grimaced.
Meanwhile, Daniel hurried over.
Seeing someone sent flying because of him made him feel genuinely guilty.
"Are you alright?"
Tony looked up irritably.
"What do you think?"
His tone was anything but friendly.
"How about I throw you ten feet and see how you feel?"
Daniel wasn’t offended.
After all, he understood why the other guy was upset.
He then offered a hand.
"Sorry. Let me help you up."
Tony immediately slapped the hand away.
"No thanks."
"I can stand up by myself."
Then he got to his feet.
By this point, the bodyguards had finally caught up.
Noticing Tony’s condition, they rushed forward.
"Mr. Stark, are you alright?"
Tony ignored them completely.
He rubbed the spot that had hit the ground before turning back toward Daniel.
"I’d recommend seeing an eye doctor, mister."
His expression was full of disdain.
"Your eyesight leaves a lot to be desired."
But Daniel wasn’t listening anymore.
The moment Tony stood up, Daniel had finally recognized him.
Who was standing in front of him?
The youthful face.
The lack of a signature goatee.
The younger features.
Honestly... he even looked a little cute.
The image from Daniel’s memories slowly merged with the real person standing before him.
Talk about coincidence.
Only moments ago he’d been thinking about meeting famous figures from the movies.
Now one had appeared right in front of him.
And not just anyone, his favorite one.
Tony Stark.
Although... there was one thing that matched the movies perfectly.
This guy’s mouth was just as annoying in real life.
The collision had obviously been Tony’s fault.
He’d been the one running without watching where he was going.
Yet somehow he was blaming someone else.
"Maybe your eyesight is the problem."
Daniel immediately fired back.
Meeting a movie character was exciting.
That didn’t mean he was going to let himself get bullied.
If someone threw a jab at him, he’d throw one right back.
Even Carol couldn’t stop him from doing that.
Tony let out a cold laugh.
"Heh.."
Then he pointed past Daniel.
"Move."
His tone carried all the arrogance of a wealthy young brat.
"I’m in a hurry."
Daniel glanced at the empty path beside him.
"The road is right there."
"You know you can walk around me, right?"
Tony folded his arms.
"I never go around people."
Daniel smiled.
"What a coincidence."
"Neither do I."
He looked completely relaxed.
After all, Tony was the one in a hurry.
Not him.
Seriously... Tony’s personality was irritating.
Daniel couldn’t help wondering how Pepper Potts managed to tolerate him.
"You..."
Tony’s expression darkened.
His mood had somehow become even worse.
Looking at the cluster of bodyguards surrounding him, he suddenly lost interest in arguing.
As far as he was concerned, Daniel looked like some random poor kid.
Not worth wasting time on.
He still needed to figure out a way to shake off his bodyguards.
But he wasn’t going to forget this.
Not anytime soon.
"Let’s hope I don’t run into you again."
After throwing out the threat, Tony turned and walked away.
Daniel watched him leave.
Judging by the expression on Tony’s face, he was extremely unhappy.
And for some reason... that made Daniel feel incredibly satisfied.
Today had been a good day.
A.N: What do you want his suit color to be right now?
Blue
Black
And don’t worry he will have multiple color and types of superman suits, this is just for his first suit.
I prefer black by the way it’s look cooler to be honest.
