The next morning, Morris Chow was dragged out of bed early by Daisy, and the two drove over to Colleen Wing’s martial arts dojo.
Upon seeing Morris Chow, Colleen’s mental defenses quickly crumbled, and she pulled him into the bathroom.
Colleen performed remarkably well.
Though her physical stats were completely crushed by Morris Chow’s, as a martial artist, her endurance was solid.
Thus, the commotion in the bathroom went on for a long time before finally dying down!
As a result, time slipped away unnoticed until noon had already arrived!
Left with no choice, Morris Chow ordered a few pizzas for delivery and settled lunch right there in the dojo.
After eating, to stop Daisy from pulling any more crazy stunts, Morris Chow immediately pulled Colleen into the game.
Although Colleen was a martial artist, her strength was at best at the Ming Jin level—stronger than ordinary humans, but nowhere near superhuman.
Furthermore, contrary to what Morris Chow had expected, despite both sharing Chinese heritage, Colleen didn’t possess the Acquired Human racial talent like he did.
Instead, hers was the very ordinary “Midgardian Human.”
Well, “Midgard” was simply what the Asgardians called this planet.
It seemed this place was indeed vastly different from his original world.
Morris Chow was naturally curious.
He had been reincarnated here as a baby, yet his character’s race in the game’s system differed so radically from everyone else’s!
He had been Level 70 for quite a while now and had observed many players’ races, but so far he hadn’t found anyone else with a special racial talent like his.
The strongest among them was merely a player race that allowed controlling five characters online simultaneously.
As for Colleen’s Midgardian Human race, its talents were quite ordinary.
Fortunately, as the very first Midgardian Human to log into the game, she received a one-time opportunity to choose four out of six talents.
Morris Chow realized there were always benefits to being first.
Take Colleen, for instance: her first two available talents were actually quite impressive.
[Weapon Master: You are proficient in all weapons, increasing proficiency gain by 100%.]
[Martial Arts Expert: You can raise your attributes through martial arts cultivation.
Each level up grants an extra +1 to all attributes.]
It seemed Colleen’s martial arts background had benefited her; if the first person to enter the game had lacked special skills, such options might not have appeared.
At Morris Chow’s suggestion, Colleen chose Gathering Master and Sword Proficiency for her remaining two talent slots.
[Gathering Master: All gathering skill proficiencies +5.]
[Sword Proficiency: Fairly standard, granting a 1% increase to critical strike chance.]
As for her class, Morris Chow suggested she pick Warrior.
For no other reason than it would be a waste of the Weapon Master skill not to play a Warrior.
However, due to the appearance of the various Horde races, Colleen chose Blood Elf, which disqualified her from selecting Warrior.
In the end, after agonizing for a long time between Paladin and Rogue, she chose Rogue.
Her reason was that she wanted stealthy, unseen capabilities like a Rogue, all aimed at seeking revenge.
She had recently learned a bit about The Hand and knew plenty about her master, Bakuto, making her choice understandable.
A Rogue’s skills, like Stealth and Vanish, offered immense utility and solid survivability.
Morris Chow didn’t press her on her choice, offering only recommendations.
Unexpectedly, this significantly boosted Colleen’s favorability toward him, bringing her to the “Intimate” level, right alongside Jessica’s.
However, Morris Chow felt Jessica’s favorability was rising rapidly and would soon reach “Adoration.”
Morris Chow had considered how to raise intimacy levels, and Daisy had offered her own advice.
Most women are driven by emotion; Daisy suggested that to speed up intimacy, he had two options—either whisper sweet somethings into their ears or spend more time by their side.
There were no shortcuts.
Morris Chow decided to nurture these relationships whenever the opportunity arose, securing more trustworthy companions for the future.
After Colleen finished selecting her class, Morris Chow planned to show her the ropes, but the task was promptly hijacked by Jessica, who had just logged online.
The reason was simple: Jessica wanted to explain to Colleen that the subsequent text messages had all been sent by Daisy.
Whether she had other subtle motives, Morris Chow didn’t care.
Once in the game, Morris Chow unlocked the manifestation of healing skills for Jessica.
Unsurprisingly, with this ability granted, Jessica’s favorability surged to “Adoration.”
As for Colleen, Morris Chow manifested her stats and skills up to Level 10.
Prior to reaching “Intimate,” only initial baseline stats could be manifested.
World of Warcraft was a game after all, and a character’s starting stats were far superior to those of an ordinary human.
Take Colleen, for example: at Level 1, her lowest attribute, Spirit, was 20 points, while her highest, Agility, reached 22 points.
That was already more than four times that of a regular person.
Colleen also learned about her newly gained manifestation abilities in-game, which fired up her motivation considerably.
Unfortunately, likely because they had only met recently, Colleen’s favorability didn’t break through to the next tier.
Subsequent capabilities would unlock step-by-step alongside favorability, with all abilities fully granted only at max intimacy.
Meanwhile, Morris Chow and Daisy ran dungeons together to pass the time and snag some gold coin payouts.
Even though a new expansion was right around the corner, there were still plenty of high-spending buyers; Heroic difficulty could still drop solid gear.
Phase 1’s 25-man Heroic raid gear was on par with normal difficulty loot from Mount Hyjal (a Phase 2 raid).
By 5:00 PM, when Morris Chow and Daisy prepared to head home, Colleen had already reached Level 17 with Jessica’s help.
Morris Chow sent her a message in-game telling her to keep pushing her level, then drove home with Daisy.
When they arrived home, his mother had dinner ready.
They invited Jessica over, and after eating dinner as a family, the three of them spent some time chatting with his parents.
They discussed their upcoming university plans; his parents were very supportive and promised to provide suitable help.
By the time the three went up to the bedroom, it was already 8:00 PM.
After taking a shower, Jessica quietly slipped into Morris Chow’s bedroom while his parents weren’t paying attention.
Daisy was accustomed to it and went off to shower by herself.
After a bout of chaotic antics between the three, it was nearly midnight by the time they logged into the game.
Upon logging in, Morris Chow found that Colleen was actually still online.
Her character had reached Level 21 and was currently at The Crossroads.
She was likely unlocking flight paths on the map.
After speaking with Daisy and Jessica, Morris Chow decided to help Colleen hit Level 70 as fast as possible, so he instructed her to head straight to Shadowfang Keep for power-leveling dungeon runs.
