The battle at Leipzig Airport had officially descended into chaos.

Explosions echoed across the runways.

Jet engines roared in the distance.Full novel: “Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Spider Who Defied Fate” — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Heroes who had once fought side by side were now exchanging blows across the massive airport complex.

And somehow…

Peter Parker was having the time of his life.

“Nice job, kid!”

Tony Stark’s praise came through the communicator.

Peter couldn’t help grinning beneath his mask.

Just moments earlier, Scott Lang had nearly stolen Captain America’s shield back.

Even Tony had expected things to get messy.

Instead, Peter had spotted Ant-Man immediately and turned what should have been a tactical recovery into the most embarrassing moment of Scott Lang’s day.

“Seriously,” James Rhodes said over the comms, still sounding confused.

“What exactly was that little guy?”

Peter pointed toward the recovering Ant-Man.

“Was that really a person?

I thought it was some weird bug.”

Scott’s offended voice immediately rang out.

“I’m not a bug!”

He pushed himself off the ground and dusted off his suit.

“Allow me to introduce myself.

Ant-Man.”

Peter tilted his head.

“You look more like an ant than a man.”

Scott nearly choked.

“That’s literally the point!”

Peter nodded thoughtfully.

“Okay, Uncle Ant.”

Scott froze.

“What did you call me?”

“Uncle Ant.”

“I’m Ant-Man!”

“And I’m Spider-Man.”

“That’s different!”

“Not really.”

Scott opened his mouth.

Closed it.

Opened it again.

Then finally pointed accusingly.

“I don’t like this kid.”

Tony’s laughter echoed through several communicators simultaneously.

Even Natasha Romanoff couldn’t completely suppress her smile.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much time for comedy.

Tony’s helmet display quickly highlighted several targets.

His expression became serious.

“There.”

He marked two heat signatures.

“Terminal building.”

Everyone followed his gaze.

Tony’s sensors had located Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes.

Meanwhile, Wanda Maximoff was still positioned near the tarmac.

Tony immediately started assigning targets.

“Wanda’s mine.”

Without waiting for a response, Iron Man blasted into the sky.

A red-and-gold streak shot across the airport.

James Rhodes rolled his shoulders.

“I’ll handle Captain America.”

The moment Bucky’s name was mentioned, T’Challa moved.

The King of Wakanda exploded forward like a predator.

His black vibranium suit shimmered beneath the sunlight.

“Barnes is mine.”

The hatred in his voice was impossible to mistake.

Steve Rogers’ expression immediately changed.

“Bucky.”

Without hesitation, Captain America sprinted after Black Panther.

The problem was…

He didn’t have his shield.

And Captain America without his shield was like Thor without Mjolnir.

Still dangerous.

But significantly less dangerous.

T’Challa was terrifying.

Peter watched from above as Steve caught up to him.

The two exchanged several blows.

Steve blocked.

Countered.

Dodged.

Retreated.

But the difference was obvious.

Without the shield, he was losing ground.

T’Challa’s vibranium claws slashed through the air with frightening speed.

If the Wakandan king truly wanted Steve dead…

The fight would already be over.

Peter scratched his head.

“Looks like Captain America has enough problems.”

Below him, Natasha Romanoff and Scott Lang had already started fighting.

Everywhere he looked, people were pairing off.

That left only one obvious destination.

“The Winter Soldier.”

Peter grinned.

Now that sounded exciting.

THWIP!

A web attached to the terminal wall.

Peter launched himself forward.

The shield remained tucked beneath his arm as he swung through a shattered glass entrance.

The moment he entered—

He spotted them.

Two figures sprinting across the upper levels.

One carried a distinctive metallic left arm.

Impossible to miss.

Bucky Barnes.

The Winter Soldier.

Beside him flew Sam Wilson.

Peter immediately crashed through a nearby glass panel.

SHATTER!

Thousands of fragments scattered through the air.

Bucky spun around.

“What the hell?”

Sam looked equally confused.

“Does everyone on Tony’s team dress like a walking advertisement?”

Peter landed dramatically.

Then looked at Bucky’s metal arm.

Then at Sam’s wings.

Then back at them.

“…You two really shouldn’t be criticizing anyone’s fashion choices.”

For a moment, neither man had a response.

Bucky acted first.

As expected.

No warning.

No speech.

No dramatic introduction.

Just action.

BOOM!

His metal arm smashed toward Peter’s face.

Peter calmly raised the shield.

CLANG!

The impact echoed through the terminal.

Nearby windows rattled.

Yet Peter didn’t move an inch.

His enhanced strength absorbed the blow effortlessly.

His eyes widened.

“Whoa.”

He looked down at the shield.

Then back at Bucky.

Then at the shield again.

“This thing is amazing.”

Bucky’s expression darkened.

Most people didn’t casually block punches from his cybernetic arm.

This kid was stronger than he looked.

Much stronger.

Peter was about to continue talking when his Spider-Sense suddenly flared.

A warning.

Instant.

Sharp.

His body reacted automatically.

He jumped.

WHOOSH!

Something swept beneath him.

A metallic blur.

Sam Wilson.

The Falcon suit’s wings unfolded completely as he soared past Peter’s previous position.

Had Peter remained standing there…

Sam would have carried him straight out of the terminal.

Peter twisted midair and landed on a support beam.

His eyes followed Sam’s flight path.

The mechanical wings.

The propulsion systems.

The stabilizers.

The targeting systems.

Peter’s scientific instincts activated immediately.

“Those wings are incredible.”

Sam frowned.

“What?”

“The weight distribution.”

Peter pointed.

“The carbon-fiber framework.”

Sam blinked.

Peter continued.

“The thrust ratio is amazing.”

Now Sam looked genuinely confused.

“Kid.”

“What?”

“Are you analyzing my equipment?”

Peter nodded.

“Obviously.”

THWIP!

A web shot toward Sam.

The Falcon rolled sideways.

The attack missed.

Several micro-missiles immediately launched in response.

Peter glanced at them.

His Spider-Sense barely reacted.

Not dangerous.

Not really.

His body shifted casually.

The missiles exploded harmlessly against the ceiling behind him.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Debris rained downward.

Peter looked disappointed.

“That’s it?”

Sam frowned.

“What do you mean, that’s it?”

“I thought it’d be more exciting.”

“You dodged them!”

“Yeah.”

“That’s the problem!”

The chase continued.

Sam flew.

Peter swung.

The terminal became their battlefield.

But slowly…

Peter began noticing something.

The terminal was large.

Large enough for ordinary people.

Not large enough for Falcon.

Every sharp turn.

Every support pillar.

Every narrow corridor.

All of them restricted Sam’s movement.

The wings that gave him superiority in open skies became limitations indoors.

Peter’s eyes lit up.

Now that was interesting.

A plan formed immediately.

Peter waited.

Watched.

Calculated.

Predicted.

Then—

THWIP!

A web bullet shot forward.

Perfect timing.

Perfect angle.

Perfect placement.

The sticky web struck the mechanical gear assembly connecting Sam’s wings.

CLICK.

CLICK.

CLICK.

The machinery struggled.

The gears turned.

Then stopped.

Completely jammed.

“Oh no.”

His flight system failed.

Gravity took over.

“OH NO.”

CRASH!

Falcon dropped from the air and hit the floor.

Peter winced.

“That looked painful.”

Sam stood up almost instantly.

“Not really.”

“You’re lying.”

“A little.”

Sam raised his wrist-mounted weapon.

Peter already knew what was coming.

His Spider-Sense warned him before Sam even moved.

THWIP!

THWIP!

Two webs fired simultaneously.

One left.

One right.

A second later—

Sam found both arms attached firmly to a nearby railing.

He tugged.

Nothing happened.

He tugged harder.

Still nothing.

Peter landed nearby.

“Gotcha.”

Sam sighed.

“You know…”

“What?”

“We usually don’t talk this much during fights.”

Peter blinked.

“What do you mean?”

“All this.”

Sam gestured.

“The jokes.”

“The questions.”

“The science lectures.”

“The random conversations.”

Peter opened his mouth.

Then paused.

Actually…

That was a fair question.

Why was he talking so much?

The answer came surprisingly quickly.

Because he was nervous.

Extremely nervous.

More nervous than he had ever been.

This was Captain America.

Falcon.

Bucky Barnes.

Black Panther.

Iron Man.

The Avengers.

The people he had grown up admiring.

The heroes whose posters filled classrooms.

The heroes who appeared on every news channel.

And now…

He was fighting them.

Of course he was nervous.

The nonstop talking.

The constant jokes.

The endless chatter.

It wasn’t confidence.

It was the exact opposite.

It was Peter Parker desperately trying not to think about how insane this situation actually was.

For a brief moment, his thoughts drifted elsewhere.

Toward another life.

Another world.

Toward Spider-Man Noir.

In that world, the other Peter had been older.

Harder.

More experienced.

He didn’t hesitate.

He didn’t ramble.

He didn’t fill silence with awkward jokes.

But this Peter?

This Peter was still just a sixteen-year-old kid from Queens.

A kid trying very hard not to embarrass himself.

Sam stared at him.

“You really are nervous.”

Peter pointed immediately.

“Don’t tell anyone.”

Sam laughed.

“That’s not very superhero-like.”

“I know.”

“Tony knows?”

“Absolutely not.”

Sam laughed harder.

Peter groaned.

This was becoming humiliating.

Then suddenly—

His Spider-Sense exploded.

Not a warning.

An alarm.

A genuine alarm.

Every nerve in his body screamed.

Peter’s head snapped toward the far end of the terminal.

His expression changed instantly.

The relaxed attitude disappeared.

The jokes vanished.

The smile faded.

For the first time since arriving in Berlin…

Spider-Man looked serious.

Sam immediately noticed.

“What is it?”

Peter didn’t answer.

Because at that exact moment—

A massive figure burst through the terminal wall.

Concrete exploded.

Steel twisted.

Glass shattered across the entire floor.

And whatever had just arrived…

Wasn’t part of the original plan.
