“Watch out, Mr.
Stark!
It’s Ant-Man!”
Peter’s warning rang out across the battlefield the instant his Spider-Sense pieced everything together.
Tony Stark reacted immediately.
Inside the Iron Man armor, FRIDAY’s alerts flooded his HUD.
Unauthorized lifeform detected.
Internal systems compromised.
Tony’s eyes narrowed.
“Seriously?”
Without hesitation, he activated one of the suit’s emergency protocols.
A system few people even knew existed.
The internal fire-suppression network.
Inside the armor, Scott Lang was carefully making his way through the machinery.
The battle outside seemed distant.
For a moment, he actually thought his infiltration had succeeded.
Then dozens of warning lights suddenly lit up around him.
“Oh…”
Scott froze.
“…that’s probably not good.”
Tony’s voice echoed through the suit.
“So you’re the guy who shrinks.”
Scott immediately straightened his posture.
“Nope.”
“No?”
“No.”
Scott pointed at himself dramatically.
“I’m your conscience.”
Tony rolled his eyes.
“Then I hope my conscience enjoys industrial-grade coolant.”
The next second—
WHOOSH!
A torrent of freezing coolant surged through the armor’s internal pipes.
Scott’s eyes nearly popped out.
“Oh no.”
The coolant accelerated.
“Oh no no no.”
It got closer.
“Oh no no no no no!”
Scott immediately turned and ran.
Unfortunately, the cooling system had been designed to react faster than overheating machinery.
A human-sized runner never stood a chance.
The coolant crashed into him like a tidal wave.
“AAAAAAHHHHHH!”
A moment later—
SPLOOSH!
A tiny Ant-Man shot out of the armor like a cork from a champagne bottle and slammed into the pavement.
Face first.
Meanwhile, Wanda’s sudden burst of power had completely shifted the momentum of the battle.
Using the confusion she created, Captain America’s team quickly regrouped.
The objective had never changed.
Get to Siberia.
Reach the facility.
Find the truth.
After a brief discussion, they reached a decision.
Captain America and Bucky Barnes would continue toward Siberia.
Everyone else would stay behind and delay Iron Man’s side.
But for the plan to work, they needed something big.
Something impossible to ignore.
Something capable of attracting every pair of eyes on the battlefield.
Scott Lang immediately volunteered.
At the time, nobody expected just how effective his distraction would become.
Peter suddenly felt the ground shake beneath his feet.
A shadow swallowed the sunlight overhead.
He slowly raised his head.
Then raised it further.
And further.
And further.
“…What.”
His jaw dropped.
Standing in the middle of the airport was a giant.
A colossal red-and-black giant.
More than thirty meters tall.
Towering above buses.
Towering above aircraft.
Towering above nearly everything around him.
Scott Lang grinned awkwardly.
“Uh…
surprise?”
Peter stared.
“THAT’S ANT-MAN?!”
Nearby, James Rhodes looked equally horrified.
His War Machine armor was currently trapped in one of Giant-Man’s hands.
The armored Avenger looked about ready to question reality itself.
“Why does the guy called Ant-Man keep getting BIGGER?!”
Even Sam Wilson couldn’t help laughing.
“Nice work, Tic-Tac!”
“Don’t encourage him!” Rhodes shouted.
Unfortunately, Scott seemed very encouraged.
With one casual swing, he threw War Machine across the battlefield.
“WOAHHHHHHH!”
Rhodes became a human missile.
Flying directly toward Peter.
Peter’s eyes widened.
“Mr.
Rhodes!”
THWIP!
A strand of web shot forward.
The instant it attached to War Machine, Peter felt a terrifying force yank him forward.
His sneakers screeched across the concrete.
Cracks spread beneath his feet.
The momentum nearly ripped his arms from their sockets.
Still, Peter refused to let go.
A nearby airport shuttle bus became his anchor point.
THWIP!
Another web attached.
Peter wrapped the line around the vehicle.
The bus shifted several meters.
Windows shattered.
Metal groaned.
But finally—
War Machine stopped.
Rhodes landed heavily beside him.
For a second both men simply stared at one another.
Then Rhodes laughed.
“Nice catch, Spider-Man.”
Peter flexed his aching arms.
“No problem.”
“You’re stronger than you look.” You are reading on g.com, the official source.
“I get that a lot.”
Then Rhodes blasted back into the sky.
The giant Scott Lang wasn’t finished causing trouble.
With a grin, he grabbed an entire airport shuttle.
Then kicked it.
Like a soccer ball.
Toward Peter.
“Oh come on!”
Peter launched forward.
The bus spun through the air.
Thousands of kilograms of metal hurtled directly toward him.
Everyone watching held their breath.
Then—
BOOM!
Peter caught it.
The impact drove him backward several steps.
The pavement shattered beneath his feet.
His muscles screamed.
But he held on.
The bus stopped.
Completely.
Several Avengers stared.
Even Tony looked impressed.
Peter grinned.
“Okay…”
His legs dug into the ground.
“…my turn.”
With a powerful roar, he hurled the bus back.
The massive vehicle sailed through the air toward Giant-Man.
Scott’s eyes widened.
“Wait, what?!”
He barely avoided being hit.
Above the battlefield, Tony and Rhodes exchanged glances.
Neither of them had a good way to handle a thirty-meter-tall opponent.
Repulsor blasts barely slowed him.
Missiles were ineffective.
The giant simply kept moving.
Tearing apart airport infrastructure like cardboard toys.
At one point, Scott even ripped an aircraft wing loose and used it as a giant blade.
Tony sighed.
“Anybody have a special talent they’d like to share?”
Peter suddenly froze.
Then his eyes lit up.
“I have an idea.”
A few moments later—
Scott felt something wrapping around his ankle.
Then his knee.
Then his other leg.
Then his waist.
Then his torso.
“Oh no.”
Peter had become a blur.
Web after web flew through the battlefield.
The incredibly durable strands of the Web of Destiny wrapped around Giant-Man like steel cables.
Scott stumbled.
His movements immediately slowed.
The giant body that already struggled with balance became even more unstable.
Peter continued circling him.
Layer after layer.
Strand after strand.
Until Scott looked like a giant web-covered statue.
“Mr.
Stark!”
Tony turned.
“Yeah?”
“Mr.
Rhodes too!”
Rhodes flew closer.
“What do you need?”
Peter pointed upward.
“Hit him.”
Tony blinked.
“…That’s the plan?”
Peter nodded confidently.
“Punch him in the chin.”
Rhodes stared.
Tony stared.
Peter stared back.
Then Tony shrugged.
“I’ve heard worse.”
Scott immediately sensed danger.
Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do.
The webbing restricted every movement.
He struggled desperately.
Too late.
Tony and Rhodes accelerated simultaneously.
The two armored Avengers became missiles.
Their thrusters roared.
Blue flames exploded behind them.
Maximum velocity.
Maximum force.
Maximum impact.
BOOM!
BOOM!
Two metal fists crashed directly into Giant-Man’s jaw.
The impact echoed across the airport.
Scott’s eyes rolled backward.
His enormous body swayed.
Then slowly…
Very slowly…
He toppled.
CRASH!!!
The ground shook violently.
Dust exploded into the sky.
Nearby aircraft rattled from the impact.
Giant-Man had fallen.
A moment later, Scott shrank back to normal size.
Completely unconscious.
For several seconds, nobody said anything.
Then Tony looked at Peter.
“Nice work.”
Peter flashed a victory sign.
“Team effort.”
Before anyone could celebrate—
ROOOOAR!
The engines of a nearby Quinjet suddenly ignited.
Everyone looked up.
The aircraft was already lifting off.
Tony’s smile disappeared.
“Damn it.”
Rhodes cursed as well.
They had been distracted.
Exactly as Captain America’s team intended.
The Quinjet accelerated toward the sky.
Tony immediately launched after it.
Rhodes followed close behind.
Far in the distance, Sam Wilson took flight as well.
Within seconds, all three disappeared into the air.
Peter stared upward.
Then looked down.
Then looked upward again.
The battlefield had somehow moved into the sky.
And he was very much not capable of flying.
“Great.”
He crossed his arms.
“Which Spider-Man variant can fly?”
A pause.
“Can I get that one next?”
A groan interrupted his thoughts.
“Kid…”
Peter looked down.
Scott Lang was lying on the ground.
Looking miserable.
“Can you help me up?”
Peter walked over slowly.
Then stopped.
Three meters away.
Scott blinked.
Peter folded his arms.
“If I help you, does that make me a war criminal too?”
Scott froze.
“…Seriously?”
“I’m asking for legal clarification.”
Scott sighed.
“No.”
“You sure?”
“Yes.”
“Like, legally sure?”
“YES!”
Peter finally approached.
But Scott wasn’t done.
His body felt like every bone had been replaced with broken glass.
Using the giant form had pushed him beyond his limits.
Thinking quickly, he decided to play his trump card.
“You know…”
Peter immediately became suspicious.
“…what?”
Scott grinned.
“I have a daughter.”
Peter stared.
“Okay?”
“She’s adorable.”
“…”
“I could introduce you.”
Peter’s expression became completely blank.
Scott continued enthusiastically.
“You’re a good kid.”
“No.”
“Strong.”
“No.”
“Responsible.”
“No.”
“Great genetics.”
“Please stop.”
Scott ignored him.
“And technically we’re relatives.”
Peter nearly walked away.
Finally, Peter grabbed his arm and pulled him upright.
Not because of the daughter.
Definitely not because of the daughter.
Mostly because Scott looked genuinely pitiful.
And because nobody here had actually been trying to kill each other.
Despite all the explosions and chaos.
Scott rubbed his sore back.
“My name’s Scott Lang.”
Peter nodded.
“Peter Parker.”
Scott’s eyes lit up.
“Peter Parker.”
He repeated the name as if memorizing it.
Then suddenly he patted Peter’s shoulder.
Then squeezed his arm.
Then poked his chest.
“Wow.”
Peter frowned.
“What?”
Scott grinned.
“Kid, you’ve got great muscles.”
Peter immediately stepped backward.
Every survival instinct activated at once.
“Please.”
Scott blinked.
“What?”
Peter pointed accusingly.
“Don’t say that while making those expressions.”
“What expressions?”
“The creepy ones!”
Scott looked offended.
Peter looked horrified.
For a brief moment, the aftermath of the airport battle became strangely peaceful.
Neither of them noticed that high above the clouds—
The real confrontation was only beginning.
And when Tony Stark finally caught up to Captain America and Bucky Barnes…
The truth hidden in Siberia would shatter everything.
To be continued…
