You murmur softly to comfort Qingqing and tell him not to be anxious.
Qingqing’s face turns pale, and he even looks close to tears from guilt.
“I’m sorry, Hutou gege, it’s all because I was careless…”
Just then, Ruanruan hears the commotion here and runs over as well. He happens to see Qingqing turn his face away, a tear welling at the corner of his eye and sliding down his cheek.
Ruanruan jumps in fright. He cups Qingqing’s face to wipe away the tears, then spreads his arms to shield Qingqing behind him. Like an agitated little lion, he glares at you with a dark face.
“Husband, how can you bully Qingqing gege! Do you know how much Qingqing gege has done for this family? When you’re not home, he shoulders everything that happens. Just this month he’s fallen ill from exhaustion several times, sob sob sob, and you still want to bully him…”
His little mouth keeps chattering without pause, not even giving you a chance to explain.
Ruanruan is so angry he presses a hand to his chest and pants furiously, then grabs Qingqing and starts to drag him out. “Qingqing gege, let’s leave this place. Don’t pay him any mind!”
Qingqing stands still and looks at you cautiously.
“Hutou gege?”
You sigh and lower your head to kiss the corner of Qingqing’s lips.
“It’s nothing important. It’s fine if I can’t find it. I trust you.”
Zhuer also comes over with Yanyan. Seeing Qingqing’s pale face, they immediately look at you with shared indignation.
Yanyan goes up to Qingqing and bows. His clear voice is like flowing spring water.
“Brother Shen, did you have some misunderstanding with husband?”
Zhuer has a quick temper. He puts one hand on his hip and grips Qingqing’s wrist with the other. “Pah! What misunderstanding! I spent more than ten years in Yihong Hall, and I’ve seen plenty of this kind of thing. He’s just using a noble excuse because he’s sick of you. In the end, anything you do is wrong!”
You never expected the beauties to react so fiercely, and quickly try to speak up and explain.
But the beauties have already taken Qingqing away while protecting him.
You decide:
1. Seize the moment and hurry after them to explain everything clearly
2. While the beauties are out of the room, secretly investigate first
