Fu Jingyu had just returned from Nanchuan and had been staying outside, which made Mrs.
Fu unaccustomed.
Fu Jingyu nodded, “Okay.”
He was afraid that if the call continued, it might disturb Ye Fanxing, so he quickly hung up, looked down, and found that Ye Fanxing had already woken up.
She propped herself up on a pillow, staring at him, her look still moderately foolish from just having woken up.
“Awake?” His cool fingers brushed the hair from her cheek, revealing her full face.
“Why did I fall asleep here?” Ye Fanxing sat up, “I didn’t disturb you, did I?”
She tends to toss and turn in her sleep.
She was worried that she might have kicked him.
Upon recalling how Ye Fanxing kept placing her foot over him as they slept last night, Fu Jingyu admitted that indeed, he didn’t sleep well the entire night, all thanks to her.
He hesitated for a moment, then said, “No.”
“That’s good.” Ye Fanxing felt relieved, “I don’t know why, but I always toss and turn whenever I sleep.”
At least she was aware of it.
Fu Jingyu gave her a helpless look.
After having a meal together, Ye Fanxing returned to her job at the hotel.
The restaurant wasn’t busy as it hadn’t hit lunchtime yet and wasn’t crowded, so Ye Fanxing wasn’t too overwhelmed.
Accompanied by the manager, Gu Yuzhe walked in.
The hotel was under the management of the Gu family, and since it was a holiday and Gu Yuzhe had nothing to do, he was sent here to learn some things.
Once he stepped in, he spotted Ye Fanxing.
Seeing him stop and stare in Ye Fanxing’s direction, the manager curiously asked, “Yuze?”
“Why is she here?” Gu Yuzhe pointed at Ye Fanxing and asked.
Unsure about Gu Yuzhe’s sudden interest in Ye Fanxing, the manager explained, “Recently the restaurant is a bit understaffed; if someone takes leave, we hire some part-timers to fill in.
Is there any problem?”
Gu Yuzhe looked at Ye Fanxing, his mind going back to their conversation from last night:
“Who told you I don’t like him anymore?”
“I like older men, more mature ones.
Is there something wrong with that?”
“…”
Ye Fanxing was wholeheartedly serving the customers.
Even if she was feeling down, she couldn’t let it show at work.
Seeing that she was still managing to smile, Gu Yuzhe said, “I don’t want to see her anymore.”
The manager couldn’t help but glance at Gu Yuzhe.
Seeing the seriousness in his face, clearly not joking, he nodded, “Alright.”
After he finished speaking, the manager left.
“Gu Yuzhe!”
As Gu Yuzhe was staring in Ye Fanxing’s direction, Zhao Jiaqi, who had stayed at the hotel last night, suddenly appeared behind him and called out his name.
Gu Yuzhe turned to look at Zhao Jiaqi but didn’t say anything.
Zhao Jiaqi took in his formal attire, “Are you…
working?”
“My mom asked me to come here and learn for a few days.”
“You’re really impressive, you can even help manage the family business.” Zhao Jaiqi said admiringly.
What she was thinking, however, was: Ye Fanxing works here, has he seen her?
Gu Yuzhe must still like Ye Fanxing, otherwise, before that, he wouldn’t have been so angry with Ye Fanxing.
So, Zhao Jiaqi was worried they would meet.
What if they reconciled?
Wouldn’t all her previous efforts be wasted?
Moreover, Ye Fanxing is currently unable to afford the tuition; what if Gu Yuzhe finds out and lends her money?
Zhao Jiaqi also applied to Jiangzhou University with Gu Yuzhe.
She absolutely didn’t want to see Ye Fanxing appear around Gu Yuzhe again.
Thinking about all this, Zhao Jiaqi quickly took hold of his hand, “I came to your family’s hotel, won’t you show me around?
Let’s go somewhere else!”
