But from the looks of it, the Jiang family turning to the East Sea Law Enforcement Hall was clearly useless.

Just as Jiang Ning was debating whether to eradicate them completely, Jiang Sihai seemed to have an idea.

He went to the head of the bed and opened a small safe.Full novel: Mighty Man: Starting with 99 Marriage Contracts — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After frantically fumbling for a key, he inserted it directly into the lock.

“What are you looking for, old man?”

Mei Changyan asked, a little curious.

“Hmph!

That Jiang Ning kid is no simple character if he can defeat Elder Ghost!

We can’t pin all our hopes on the East Sea Law Enforcement Hall!”

Jiang Sihai gave the key a sharp twist, and the lock clicked open.

“But…”

Mei Changyan clearly didn’t understand.

‘At this point, what other outside help could they possibly find?’

“Heh!” Jiang Sihai opened the safe and sneered.

“Even if this Jiang Yu is a Grandmaster in the Celestial Realm, you think he can take on an entire sect?”

He reached in and took out a simple, black, ancient-looking token, gripping it in his hand…

‘Fine, I’ll let you live a little longer.’

Jiang Ning stretched languidly and vanished from the rooftop.

WHOOSH!

Jiang Ning reappeared in the sniper’s room.

The moment Jiang Ning landed, the sniper, who had been fast asleep on the bed, snapped his eyes open, instinctively reaching for his gun and taking aim.

“Boss?

What are you doing here…?”

Seeing it was Jiang Ning, the sniper let out a long sigh of relief and lowered his weapon.

“Your skills aren’t half bad.” Jiang Ning nodded and gave him an address.

“Go to room 808 in this hotel.

My mother is staying on the floor above.”

“Huh?”

The sniper was baffled.

He had no idea what Jiang Ning wanted.

‘I’m an assassin!’

‘Is he telling me to be a bodyguard?’

“What?

You don’t understand?”

Jiang Ning’s voice turned icy.

The sniper was so scared he leaped out of bed and hurriedly threw on his clothes.

“Don’t worry, Boss.

With me, Xiaowu, here, your mother won’t be harmed!”

As Xiaowu left, a hint of satisfaction touched the corner of Jiang Ning’s lips.

He was a Cultivator, yes…

…but he couldn’t be by his mother’s side every second of the day.

There were simply too many people he needed to kill.

If one of them managed to get to his mother, it would be too late for regrets.

‘He had to secure his home base before dealing with outside enemies.’

He had to prioritize his mother’s safety above all else.

With his mother’s safety secured, Jiang Ning headed out of the hotel.

He was in the city center.

There was none of the lively chaos from small street vendors; instead, the streets were filled with office elites rushing to and fro.

But just as Jiang Ning was about to head back to Fish Leaping Dragon Gate for some breakfast, a busy figure caught his eye.

It was Su Weiwei.

Her belly large with child, she was on the side of the road, picking up discarded water bottles and other scraps she could sell for cash.

Her once-fair hands were now stained black with grime.

Sweat dripped from her entire body.

Yet she didn’t seem to care in the slightest.

She just wore a mask, focused on digging through a trash can…

Jiang Ning sighed softly to himself but didn’t go over to greet her.

He knew that doing so would hurt Su Weiwei’s pride.

But just as he was about to turn and leave, an arrogant voice cut through the air.

“Well, well!

If it isn’t the great beauty Su Weiwei?

To think you’ve fallen so low you’re now a garbage-picking janitor!”

A greasy, pot-bellied man walked over.

He was flanked by two thugs who looked like bodyguards.

The greasy man stared at Su Weiwei’s large, pregnant belly, a look of twisted desire appearing on his face.

“Scum!”

Su Weiwei spat, grinding her teeth as she glared at the greasy man.

Jiang Ning frowned.

‘Could he be Su Weiwei’s husband?’

‘He doesn’t look the part.’

The greasy man wasn’t angered by the insult.

Instead, his expression grew even more arrogant.

“Hahaha, technically, I should call you sister-in-law.” A smug look appeared on the greasy man’s face as he licked his lips.

“But your gambler husband lost you to me.

So, you can come home with me now, can’t you?”

After speaking, the greasy man reached out a lecherous hand to grab Su Weiwei.

“I won’t—”

Su Weiwei screamed, her emotions spiraling out of control.

“You big meanie, don’t you bully my mommy—”

Suddenly, a small, childish figure stepped in front of Su Weiwei.

It was Su Xiaoya!

She was still tightly clutching a plastic bag in her hand.

Inside the bag were the very drink bottles she had just collected.

“Little girl, how could your uncle be bullying your mommy?” the greasy man said, crouching down and flicking Su Xiaoya’s chin with his right hand.

He spoke with immense satisfaction, “After I take your mom home, you can start calling me ‘daddy’!”

At this, the greasy man looked as if he’d thought of something amusing.

He scanned Su Xiaoya up and down, repeatedly licking his lips.

His two thugs immediately understood.

They moved to flank them, blocking any path of escape for Su Weiwei and Su Xiaoya.

“Let Xiaoya go!

I’ll go with you!”

As an adult, Su Weiwei instantly understood the greasy man’s vile intentions.

‘Her stomach churned.

She felt sick.’

But the moment the words left her mouth, the greasy man’s expression changed.

“You’re my playthings now.

Neither of you is getting away!”

With a wave of his hand, his two men immediately grabbed Su Weiwei and Su Xiaoya, holding them so they couldn’t move.

But Su Xiaoya was still struggling desperately, screaming herself hoarse.

“You bully!

You big bully!

I’m telling you, if you take us, my daddy won’t let you get away with it!”

Hearing this, the greasy man and his two thugs laughed even harder.

“Hahaha!

That gambler father of yours?

You’re still hoping he’ll come and save you?

Why, just today, he mortgaged your family’s only home to me!”

When Su Weiwei heard this, her face went ashen.

Now, she truly had nowhere left to go…

A wave of despair washed over Su Weiwei, consuming her.

She unconsciously picked up a broken twig and slowly began to press it against her own throat…

“No!”

Suddenly, Su Xiaoya’s voice rang out again.

“I’m not talking about that stinky, rotten daddy!

I’m talking about the super-duper, invincible hero, Father Jiang!”

The motion of Su Weiwei’s hand froze.

A glimmer of light flashed in her eyes.

But…

“How ridiculous!” The greasy man had clearly lost his patience, eager to drag the two of them back and have his way.

“Stop wasting my time!

Now, either you get this ‘Father Jiang’ to show up, or I’m taking you both with me!”

With that, the greasy man ordered his men to take Su Weiwei and her daughter away.

But just as his men were about to move…

…two sharp slapping sounds rang out simultaneously.

SLAP!

Somehow, both thugs were sent flying into the air.

Red handprints were emblazoned on their faces, and their eyes were wide with terror.

THUD!

The two of them slammed heavily onto the ground.

Su Xiaoya’s eyes widened.

As she looked at the two fallen men, a realization seemed to dawn on her, and she began to jump for joy.

The next second, she shot a fierce glare at the greasy man.

She even waved her little fist and shouted in an adorably fierce voice:

“I’m telling you!

My Father Jiang is here!

If you scram right now, I can ask my Father Jiang to go a little easier on you!”
