“Here we are. Welcome to the finest academy in the entire world!” The Student Council President spread her arms toward Xia Ye and declared proudly.

Xia Ye stared at the great gate before her.

It looked ancient and dignified without seeming the least bit rundown, and her mouth fell open in astonishment.Full novel: Mischievous Loli in My Doll! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The entire academy was enclosed by a wall more than a hundred meters high, yet its length was even more absurd than its height.

Even from a hundred meters away, she could not see either end at a glance.

Stranger still, from any farther away, there had been no sign that such a massive structure existed here at all.

A purple halo shimmered over the towering wall, seemingly part of a magical defensive array.

The three of them covered the hundred-meter distance in less than two minutes.

Waiting at the gate was a young man with the unmistakable face of a treacherous court minister.

“This man has the face of a treacherous court minister, a single horn on his forehead, and a red suit.

His build is well proportioned—not too thin, not too muscular.

He stands with his chin raised and chest out, radiating aristocratic dignity, yet one look is enough to tell that he is absolutely not a good person.”

“I heard every word of that!

Why are you narrating my appearance?!” the young man roared at Mir.

“This is our academy’s Deputy Director. He may not look like much, but he’s actually a decent person,” Asiya told Xia Ye, completely ignoring their exchange.

“Yo, Old Wang. Standing at the gate this late, feeding the mosquitoes?” Mir greeted him as casually as if they were neighbors.

“Who are you calling Old Wang?! You rude little brat! My name is Wanglance. Remember it!” Wanglance snarled.

With a face like that, no one would need any convincing that he was the villain.

“That sounds weird. Old Wang is better.” Mir dug at his ear with an openly disgusted expression.

Wanglance felt that if he kept arguing with this brat, he might genuinely die of rage.

“The Director sent me to receive you. She’s very interested in the girl you mentioned in your message.” Wanglance took out a stone engraved with a magical pattern and waved it at them.

“Oh? Then why are you still standing there? Hurry up and take us to that old hag. What, you want us to keep you company while you feed the mosquitoes?” Mir grabbed Wanglance’s sleeve with a look of disdain.

Wanglance automatically filtered out Mir’s attitude and turned to the two girls instead.

“You two, come hold on to me. I’ll have the Director teleport us over. Honestly, why does the Deputy Director have to run errands like this…?”

The last sentence was muttered under his breath, but Mir still heard it and gave him a contemptuous look.

Xia Ye hesitated before taking hold of the very edge of Wanglance’s coat, which wounded him more than he cared to admit.

“I don’t need to go, do I? The Director didn’t ask for me.” Asiya seemed deeply reluctant to touch Wanglance.

Apparently, the importance of an attractive face was universal.

“Once this little girl finishes her enrollment paperwork, you can help arrange her dorm room. You can’t seriously expect this brat to do it.”

Wanglance’s argument was perfectly reasonable.

As the Student Council President, Asiya could hardly refuse, so she pinched the other sleeve between two fingers.

Once all three of them had hold of him, Wanglance poured magic into the stone.

The engraved pattern shone brighter and brighter until its light swallowed all four of them.

When the glow faded, they found themselves in a room with antique decor but the unmistakable layout of an office.

All sorts of strange collectibles were displayed around the room.

Xia Ye even spotted a Thompson submachine gun.

Behind the desk by the window sat a silver-haired woman who appeared to be in her twenties.

A pair of pointed horns rose from her head, and she was reading a book thick enough to qualify as a blunt weapon.

She was the Director of Meichuxi Academy: Erin Chris.

She had just used her Psi-Spirit Energy ability, [Spatial Manipulation], to bring the four of them here.

Erin gave a slight nod when they appeared.

She closed the hefty book, rose from her chair, and walked toward Mir.

Mir immediately sensed trouble.

“Don’t come any closer!”

He had barely finished shouting with a bizarre expression when a palm smacked the back of his head.

“You little brat. All you ever do is cause trouble.”

Still not satisfied, Erin slapped him across the head again.

Mir could not actually feel pain, but he decided it would be wiser to act as though he did.

He crouched down, baring his teeth and grimacing dramatically.

Erin ignored his performance and teleported back to her seat.

“So you’re the girl who can use [Curse Magic]?” Erin asked Xia Ye with great interest.

Xia Ye did not know how to answer, so she channeled her Psi-Spirit Energy into her magic and materialized it over her palm for Erin to see.

“Mmm… Interesting.

This really is the Liches’ exclusive Psi-Spirit Energy, [Hexer], but something about it feels wrong.

This little girl is definitely human.

The intensity looks about D-rank, too.

D-rank immediately after awakening…”

“Ahem!”

Wanglance cleared his throat, cutting off Erin’s oblivious muttering.

Erin shot him an annoyed look, pulled something resembling a sheet of paper from beneath the desk, and handed it to Xia Ye.

“Fill this out and you’ll be enrolled.”

Xia Ye accepted the sheet, only to find it covered in writing she could not recognize.

Seeing her puzzled expression, Erin promptly disappeared into her own thoughts again.

“She can’t read it?

But she can clearly understand what I’m saying.

Translation Magic?

Yet Mir said she’d never come into contact with magic before.

Did that brat just teach her?

Is she a genius?

Interesting…”

“Ahem!

Ahem, ahem, ahem…”

Wanglance interrupted her at precisely the right moment once again.

“Give that back.”

Erin retrieved the sheet, replaced it with another, and handed the new one to Xia Ye.

Xia Ye glanced down.

This time, the text was written in the script of her homeland.

She picked up the fountain pen on the desk and began filling in her information.

Erin frowned at the rough way Xia Ye handled the fountain pen, but ultimately chose not to say anything.

“Kid, go make a pot of coffee.”

Erin ordered her own brat around without the slightest courtesy.

Mir might have been an expert at asking for trouble, but even he did not dare provoke Erin immediately after causing an incident.

He obediently went to make the coffee.

“Oh, right.

You’ll repay the compensation money I covered for you with what you earn from your monthly field training.

You’ll also advance this girl’s tuition for now.

No objections, I assume?”

“None.”

Mir’s expression remained perfectly calm, but inside, his heart was bleeding.

His hands continued making coffee on autopilot, and the steps quickly fell out of order.

The Student Council President had been about to help.

After seeing the state he was in, however, she hesitated and decided it would be safer not to get involved.

Erin shook her head helplessly.

People said daughters were supposed to warm their mothers’ hearts, so why was the one in her family nothing like that?

Just remembering all the trouble Mir had caused over the years was enough to give her a headache.

Perhaps her child was really a tyrannical cat wearing a husky suit.
