Freya overwrote Save Slot 00 because, although she hadn’t obtained the Fate Potion in this simulation, she had been eating well every day for the past month and was gradually recovering from her malnourished state.

Coupled with daily exercise, it was no exaggeration to say that her current physical condition was far healthier than when she had first transmigrated.

So, why would she cling to her former frail body when she now possessed a stronger one?Full novel: Miss Fate’s Speedrun Guide — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The moment she overwrote the save, Freya’s hair in the real world rapidly grew longer, her complexion visibly flushed with health, and her casual clothes transformed into a Special Operations Division female officer’s uniform.

She then glanced at the System Page and saw the ‘Future Simulation’ countdown had restarted, this time with a cooldown period of a full thirty hours.

So, every day I spend in the simulation translates to a one-hour cooldown in reality?

While pondering this, Freya sorted through the items she had brought back from the simulation.

The first thing she noticed was that the Lock, originally rooted in her consciousness from the Law Pathway, had vanished.

This meant that contracts signed within the simulation had no effect on reality?

Freya pulled out her Special Operations Division badge, which bore her identity information.

Though she was a rookie who had joined less than a month ago, the Special Operations Division was still the Special Operations Division.

Simply flashing this badge gave her the authority to command any police officer.

Of course, the badge was essentially a one-time-use item.

After she issued her orders, the police would check their records and find no trace of anyone named Freya.

That would be disastrous.

She would never use it in reality; however, it might come in handy in the simulation, depending on the circumstances.

In addition to the badge, she also carried a compact handgun, the Lococo 191, with a magazine capacity of twelve rounds.

It was less powerful than a revolver, with lighter recoil, making it more suitable for Freya’s build.

Nolan had personally equipped her with this highly accurate weapon.

Finally, she removed her police uniform, neatly folded it, and placed it in the wardrobe before changing into an ordinary outfit.

“I need to buy some new clothes,” Freya murmured.

The original owner had always lived frugally, leaving her with very few garments.

Now that she had overwritten her Save Slot with reality, she had effectively lost another set of clothes.

After carefully counting, she realized she had only two casual outfits left in the wardrobe.

Acting on impulse, Freya decided to go shopping, since she had nothing else pressing to do.

She grabbed her purse, stocked with enough money, and headed straight to the nearest commercial street for a spree.

She casually strolled into a clothing store and froze when she saw a rack of dresses and stockings.

Stockings already exist in this era?

Glancing down at the gray pants she was wearing, Freya wasted no time and began browsing.

Why not wear cute clothes if they’re available?

It’s not like I need to dress up for anyone else.

I’m already so adorable; even wearing cute clothes just for myself would be a delight!

But the original owner had never bought such clothes, and Freya’s memories from her previous life offered no relevant knowledge.

Selecting outfits proved to be quite a challenge.

Fortunately, the store had fitting rooms and a full-length oval mirror.

Freya tried on several outfits.

She was a natural clothes horse, effortlessly making any garment look stunning.

Gazing at her reflection, Freya couldn’t help but whisper to herself, Ugh, I’m just too cute…

Even the store staff couldn’t help but exclaim, “Little sister, this outfit suits you perfectly!

And this one too!

And this one!”

Their praise was both heartfelt and a subtle sales pitch.

Freya tried on several outfits, eventually purchasing five sets.

She was currently wearing an outfit strikingly similar to her past life’s sailor uniform.

The black top featured a square collar that hugged her neck, making her slender, pale neck stand out even more.

The fitted bodice nipped in perfectly at the waist, neither too tight nor too loose, accentuating her graceful, slender waistline.

A pleated skirt of the same color fell to just above her knees, paired with black thigh-high stockings and slightly heeled sneakers.

Not that Freya wasn’t already quite young.

This was the last outfit she had tried on.

Originally, she had planned to buy it and wear it home immediately.

But when she glanced at the occasional passersby outside the shop, she suddenly lost her nerve for some reason.

Freya’s cheeks flushed slightly as she hurried back to the dressing room to change back into her plain, earthy everyday clothes.

Only then did she approach the front desk to pay.

The five outfits totaled eight thousand Ducats—a price that wasn’t exorbitant but certainly not cheap, definitely beyond the means of ordinary commoners, as the boutique primarily catered to the middle class.

Freya paid without hesitation, showing no trace of regret.

With the neatly packaged clothes in hand, she resumed her shopping spree.

She later purchased a mirror, some pretty hair clips and bands, and a few miscellaneous household items.

When Freya finally snapped out of her shopping daze, several hours had passed.

After grabbing a quick lunch, she returned home laden with shopping bags.

In the afternoon, she slung her schoolbag over her shoulder and went to school to explain her absence to the teacher.

The teacher didn’t pry, simply saying with concern, “The material we covered this morning wasn’t too difficult, Freya.

You can ask a classmate for their notes.

With your abilities, catching up shouldn’t be a problem.”

“Mhm, mhm,” Freya nodded.

Though she currently felt little enthusiasm for studying or scholarships, she maintained her image as a diligent student and obedient girl.

Afterward, Freya reassured Amy, telling her not to worry.

This would prevent Amy from coming to her house later that evening.

After spending the afternoon at school, Freya left at the regular dismissal time and headed to the restaurant where the original owner of her body had worked part-time.

Here, she wore a maid uniform and worked as a waitress, greeting customers with a charming smile at the entrance.

Given Freya’s undeniable cuteness, some customers genuinely chose to dine there because of her appearance.

Of course, the original owner had also encountered unsavory patrons who tried to get handsy.

Whenever such situations arose, the manager would call Freya to help in the kitchen and replace her with a six-foot-tall, muscle-bound waiter to continue serving the offending customer.

In short, it was a very reputable restaurant, and the owner had always been kind to Freya.

However, now that Freya no longer needed the money, there was no reason for her to continue working there.

The owner said to Freya, “Frey, if you ever need money again, you can always come back.

I’ll always keep a spot open for you here.”

Why does everyone keep calling me ‘Frey’?

Freya wondered inwardly as she gave the owner a slight bow.

“I understand.

Thank you so much.”

After quitting her job, Freya quickly returned home, made herself dinner, and then carelessly rushed through her school homework.

By the time she finished, it was already getting dark.

Freya didn’t look out the window, striving to maintain her usual composure.

She went to bed early, but unlike her usual routine, she placed her Revolver under her pillow—within easy reach.

Although the life-or-death crisis wouldn’t occur for another three days, she knew basic vigilance was essential.

Freya lay awake well into the late hours of the night before finally succumbing to exhaustion and drifting off to sleep.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Freya, in a mist-shrouded realm stood a pure white tower nearly a hundred meters tall.

Within this tower, a humanoid figure suddenly wore a look of profound astonishment.

In a light, ethereal voice, it murmured, “What’s happening?

The Fate Pathway has shifted…?”

Its upper body was human, but its lower half was unmistakably serpentine.

Gliding swiftly, it soon reached the tower’s summit, where the structure resembled an altar.

The moment it arrived, the figure’s expression twisted into one of utter terror.

For at the altar’s center, where a Bronze Pocket Watch should have been resting, there was now nothing but empty space.

“This…

how could this be…?”

The next day, Freya woke before sunrise, washed up, ate breakfast, and headed to school.

As she stepped out the door, she couldn’t help but murmur, “It’s hard to believe this is only my second day since transmigrating to this world.”

Yet, subjectively, she felt as if she had already lived here for ages.

Upon arriving at school, Freya attended her classes as usual.

Although she only understood bits and pieces of what the teachers were saying, barely grasping a few sentences, she maintained a diligent and attentive demeanor.

Throughout the morning, Freya nearly dozed off several times, but she managed to stay awake thanks to her tenacious “willpower.” Finally, at 12:30 PM, she checked the System Page and saw that the 30-hour cooldown for the Future Simulation had finally cleared.

Without hesitation, she initiated her third simulation.

The moment she entered the simulation, she turned to Amy, who was eating lunch beside her, and said, “I suddenly remembered something urgent at home, Amy.

Can you ask for a leave of absence for me?”

Then she hurriedly left school.

Freya first returned home to retrieve her two guns, bullets, and emergency bandages, making sure she was fully prepared.

Immediately after leaving her house, she began wandering aimlessly around the neighborhood, looking like a street loafer.

In reality, she was on “patrol.”

During her month-long stint at the Special Operations Division in her second simulation, she hadn’t just been working out; she had also meticulously studied the world’s esoteric knowledge.

The twelve major Transcendence Pathways currently explored by humanity included the Law Pathway, which Nolan and Miles belonged to; the Mind Pathway, which Reina followed; and the Fate Pathway, which Freya had brushed against.

By consuming the corresponding potion, one could gain supernatural abilities associated with that pathway.

These abilities, of course, developed gradually.

The most basic Rank 1 Potion would only transform a person into a Rank 1 Beyonder.

Naturally, there were also Rank 2, Rank 3, and even the highest Rank 8 Potions, each more potent than the last.

Notably, at the transition from Rank 3 to Rank 4, each of the twelve pathways offered a “Class Advancement” opportunity.

For example, the Law Pathway branched into the Punisher, Arbiter, and Listener classes.

To undergo a ‘Class Advancement,’ one must first decide on the desired advancement path and then consume the corresponding Class Advancement Potion.

The paths mentioned above are all ‘already explored’ routes.

Naturally, there must also exist unexplored pathways.

To illustrate, think of all the pathways as natural laws, and the potions as chemical formulas derived from extensive research.

By using the correct ‘chemical formulas,’ one can create safe and harmless chemical products—these are the potions.

However, natural laws that haven’t been fully understood, and thus imperfect chemical formulas, are inherently ‘dangerous.’ Like explosives, they appear stable in their containers, but a slight jostle could trigger a catastrophic explosion.

Yet even these imperfect ‘chemical formulas’—the potions that remain incompletely researched—can grant superhuman abilities.

These abilities may be flawed, prone to losing control, or even carry inherent defects, but they remain superhuman nonetheless.

The pervert who spied on Freya belonged to the ‘Demon Pathway,’ an unexplored path.

Most of the potions distributed during the ‘Obsidian Incident’ originated from this pathway.

During its investigation, the Special Operations Division concluded that all Beyonders who followed this pathway experienced some degree of physical enhancement.

They also exhibited various physical changes, such as growing a sharp tail from their buttocks, developing backward-pointing barbs on their knuckles, or having their fingernails become exceptionally sharp and durable.

Even a Rank 1 Beyonder could effortlessly crush an ordinary person, but these Beyonders remained within the realm of humanity.

Like any human, if killed, they would die.

This meant that even if the pervert physically overpowered Freya, she still had a gun—a pure killing machine invented by human intelligence.

If Freya could land shots on his heart or head, she could absolutely kill him.

Though Freya appeared to be aimlessly wandering, her attention remained fixed on the surrounding pedestrians, her eyes darting to every person heading in the direction of her home.

A side effect of the Demon Pathway was that those who consumed its potions seemed to lose their intelligence or, more accurately, had their rationality easily suppressed by their primal instincts, causing them to act solely on impulse.

And one of the most primal instincts of any creature is the need to eat when hungry.
