[Congratulations, Host, on signing in. You have signed in continuously for one year.]
[One-Year Bonus Triggered.]
[Congratulations, Host! You have obtained the Black Moon Elixir.]
[Black Moon Elixir]
A mysterious elixir crafted by the Moon Fairy Clan. Whoever drinks it gains an Excellent Grade Affinity for the fusion element Black Moon, a hybrid element that combines Ice, Light, and Darkness.
Restriction:Only consume it when your Constitution is 100 or higher. Drinking it beforehand will result in death.
Ben looked at the reward and let out a sigh.
"Damn system. It’s been a whole year. When is your software going to update?"
He looked at the Legendary-grade reward with mixed emotions.
It wasn’t that the reward was weak.
The problem was that he was in the wrong world.
He was living on a perfectly normal planet called Solaris-3, which was almost an exact copy of his previous Earth. Apart from a few differences in history and some place names, everything else was practically the same.
After dying in his previous life, Ben had awakened in the body of Ben Parker.
Not Spider-Man’s Uncle Ben.
Not anyone from Marvel.
Just an ordinary teenager living in an ordinary world.
At first, he thought he had been reincarnated into a fantasy world.
After all, he had died, and then he woke up in another body.
But all of his expectations came crashing down once he realized the truth.
There was no magic.
No monsters.
No cultivation.
No dungeons.
Nothing.
It was simply another modern world.
Even so, Ben refused to give up.
Using the memories from his previous life, he became the world’s most successful novelist.
The Harry Potter series.
The Lord of the Rings.
Sherlock Holmes.
And many other famous novels from his previous world were all published under his name.
By the age of sixteen, he had already become one of the richest authors in the world.
Then, on his sixteenth birthday, the Sign-In System finally awakened.
He thought his luck had finally arrived.
He imagined signing in every day, receiving valuable treasures, and becoming even richer.
Instead...
His very first reward was a Fireball Spell.
The system claimed he had mastered it.
The only problem was...
He didn’t have a single drop of mana.
"So how the hell am I supposed to use magic in a world without mana?"
And so, an entire year passed.
During that time, all the system ever gave him were magic spells, mystical items, and rare elixirs like the Black Moon Elixir.
Not once had it rewarded him with anything that could actually help him use mana.
"Damn it. Even if your software isn’t going to update, at least give me something that lets me use mana."
Ben let out a helpless sigh, wondering when that day would finally come.
"Well, I’m only seventeen," he muttered as he stood up.
"Who knows? Maybe I’ll sign in to something useful one day."
Walking over to the mirror, Ben couldn’t help but admire his reflection.
He had inherited excellent genes in this life.
His black hair framed a handsome face with sharp features, fair skin, and clear blue eyes. Standing at around six feet tall, his lean but athletic build made him look more like a model than a bestselling novelist.
"At least I was born with excellent genes," he mumbled with a satisfied smile as he looked at himself in the mirror.
Ben took one last look at himself in the mirror before grabbing the car keys from the table.
His mansion was quiet as usual.
Since becoming a bestselling author, he had earned more money than he could spend in a lifetime. Royalties from his novels continued to pour in every month, allowing him to live comfortably without worrying about finances.
After putting on a light jacket, he walked out of the house and got into his black sports car.
The engine came to life with a smooth hum.
Ben drove through the morning traffic while listening to music on the radio.
About twenty minutes later, he arrived at his favorite café.
It was a cozy place that wasn’t too crowded, which was one of the reasons he liked coming here every morning.
The staff already knew him.
"Good morning, Mr. Parker," the waitress greeted him with a smile.
"Good morning."
"The usual?"
Ben nodded.
"Yeah."
He took his usual seat by the window while waiting for his coffee.
As he looked outside at the passing traffic, something suddenly came to mind.
He glanced at the date displayed on his phone.
July 27.
Ben chuckled to himself.
"What a coincidence."
In his previous life, it had been on this exact date that his girlfriend had broken up with him.
It had been one of the worst days of his old life.
Not because he had lost the relationship, but because everything that followed had changed his fate.
He still remembered giving the envelope of money to the old beggar outside the café.
He remembered the strange metallic cube the old man had given him.
And he definitely remembered getting hit by that truck.
"It has already been a year since I came to this world," Ben murmured.
"So much has changed."
He was now wealthy, famous, and living a life that his old self could never have imagined.
Yet there was one thing that had remained exactly the same.
His mysterious Sign-In System still refused to give him anything that could solve his biggest problem.
A few moments later, the waitress returned and placed a cup of freshly brewed coffee on the table.
"Enjoy your coffee, Mr. Parker."
"Thank you."
Ben picked up the cup and took a slow sip while watching the people walking along the sidewalk outside the café.
It was just another ordinary morning.
Or at least, that was what he believed.
Ben lifted the coffee cup and brought it close to his lips.
Just as he was about to take another sip, his movement froze.
A woman had fallen from the sky.
She crashed into the middle of the street with a loud impact.
She looked to be in her early twenties, wearing strange black armor that was covered in cracks. In one hand, she tightly gripped a long silver sword.
Ben’s eyes widened.
"What...?"
The woman slowly raised her head as if she was searching for something.
What confused Ben even more was the people around her.
Nobody screamed.
Nobody stopped.
Cars continued driving.
Pedestrians simply walked past her as if nothing had happened.
