The next morning, Leo walked to school with a new, unsettling energy buzzing under his skin.

The memories of yesterday—the quiet house, the drugged juice, the hours of unrestrained, unconscious intimacy—played on a continuous, intoxicating loop in his mind.

It wasn’t just the physical release, which had been intense and repeated.Full novel: MoM Needed — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was the absolute power, the complete lack of resistance.

He had controlled everything.

The thought made him feel invincible.

He was so lost in the vivid replay—the feel of her skin, the sounds of the bed, the final, claiming kiss—that he almost didn’t see her.

Maya.

She was at her locker, her head down, rummaging through her books.

A jolt of a different kind shot through him.

The park.

The accidental touch.

Her shocked face.

The guilt he’d felt then seemed like a distant, childish emotion compared to what he’d done since.

But her reaction… it had been a problem.

An obstacle.

“Maya!” he called out, his voice casual, trying to sound like the old Leo.

She froze.

Her head snapped up.

For a split second, their eyes met.

Hers were wide, filled with a panic that seemed to go beyond simple embarrassment.

Then she slammed her locker shut, grabbed her bag, and practically ran down the hallway, disappearing around a corner without a word.

Leo stood still, a cold frown settling on his face.

She’s still angry, he thought, but the thought was laced with annoyance.

He had apologized.

What more did she want?

He shoved his hands in his pockets and walked to class, the pleasant haze from his morning memories now tinged with irritation.

The morning classes were a blur.

He couldn’t focus on the teachers.

His mind kept comparing the two women in his life.

One, a warm, willing presence he could have anytime he wanted, asleep and perfect.

The other, a skittish, complicated girl who ran from him.

At lunch, he didn’t see her in the cafeteria.

He scanned the crowded tables, a strange, possessive curiosity driving him.

Where was she hiding?

It was their old spot, from before things got… complicated.

He climbed the stairs and pushed open the heavy metal door.

The wind hit him first, sharp and cool.

And there she was, sitting alone with her back against the low wall, a small lunchbox beside her.

She looked small against the vast sky.

“Maya,” he said, stepping out onto the rooftop.

She flinched violently, scrambling to her feet as if electrocuted.

Her lunchbox clattered to the ground.

Her face was a mask of pure, unadulterated panic, flushed a deep, embarrassed red.

She looked trapped.

“Hey,” he said, holding up his hands in a gesture he hoped was calming.

He took a few steps closer.

“Please. Please forgive me, Maya.” He decided to go all in.

He slowly lowered himself to one knee on the rough concrete, looking up at her.

It felt theatrical, but he needed to break through her fear.

“I’m begging you. It was an accident. I’m so, so sorry.”

Maya stared down at him, her breath coming in short gasps.

The panic in her eyes shifted into something more confused, more vulnerable.

“I… I already forgave you,” she whispered, her voice shaky.

“I texted you last night. You didn’t reply.”

Leo blinked.

He hadn’t checked his phone.

His world had shrunk to the dimensions of his mother’s bedroom.

He stood up, dusting off his knee.

“But if you forgave me,” he pressed, taking a careful step closer, “why have you been running from me all day?”

She hugged herself tightly, looking down at her shoes.

“Because… because I don’t know. It feels… weird. When I see you now.”

“Weird how?” He kept his voice soft, coaxing.

“I can’t control it!” The words burst out of her, charged with a frustrated energy.

“My heart starts racing. I get all hot and… and flustered. And I just run. Because I don’t understand what I’m feeling!” She finally looked up, her eyes glistening with a sheen of tears that weren’t quite from sadness.

“I think… I think I’m falling in love with you, Leo.”

Leo’s eyes widened in genuine shock.

He took an involuntary step back.

Love?

The word felt alien, almost silly.

His world operated on desire, on hunger, on a dark, consuming need.

Love was a concept from movies and songs, not from the reality of his life. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.

“What?” he breathed, truly stunned.

“I don’t know how it happened!” she continued, the confession tumbling out now that the seal was broken.

“We’ve been friends forever. But after what happened at the park… after you… touched me… I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Not in a bad way. In a way that made my whole body feel… alive. I don’t want to just be your friend anymore, Leo. I want… I want to be more.”

Before his reeling mind could formulate any kind of response—a rejection, an acceptance, anything—she moved.

She closed the distance between them, stood on her toes, grabbed the front of his jacket, and pulled him down into a kiss.

It was nothing like the kisses he knew.

It was clumsy, urgent, fueled by a nervous, passionate energy.

Her lips were soft and tasted like the strawberry gum she always chewed.

They moved against his with a desperate, hopeful intensity.

It was alive.

It was willing.

Leo was paralyzed for a second.

Then, instinct took over.

His hands came up and settled on her waist.

He kissed her back, his movements more practiced, more deliberate than hers.

When she pulled away, breathless and blushing furiously, she searched his face.

“See?” she whispered, her voice thick with emotion.

Leo’s mind was a chaos of conflicting impulses.

Maya.

Love.

Sex.

The words swirled together.

And then, cutting through the chaos with cold, brutal clarity, came the practical thought:

I’m doing wrong with Mom.

It wasn’t a moral judgment.

It was a risk assessment.

We are blood related.

It’s dangerous.

It’s a secret that could destroy everything.

The next thought followed, smooth and logical:

If I have Maya… I can have sex anytime.

With someone my own age.

Someone who is awake and wants it.

Someone
