Chapter 311: Your Pocket Money

Mommy, Daddy Has Already Regretted It

Estelle looked at Quentin’s expression and realized he was serious. A tingling sensation spread through her chest, followed by a warm current welling up in her heart. It seemed like it had been a very, very long time since she had received any care from a relative.

Quentin didn’t say much more. "Estelle, since I was able to find you, you must know in your heart that I am one hundred percent your brother."

Estelle looked at him and nodded.

Quentin continued, "Whether or not you return to the Yeats family is entirely up to you. If you want to know everything about your mother, the family will tell you. We won’t use this to force or threaten you in any way, so you can rest assured.

"However, I do have a request that I hope you can agree to."

Estelle was curious. "What is it?"

Quentin said, "Grandpa... your maternal grandfather, will be coming to Crestfall soon. He wants to invite you to a family dinner.

"Don’t worry, it’s just a small family gathering. There won’t be anyone annoying there. Until you agree, Grandpa won’t make anything public. He just wants to see you."

Estelle thought for three seconds before agreeing. "Alright."

Quentin smiled and looked at the two of them. "I won’t interrupt your alone time any longer. Oh, by the way, Estelle, give me your bank account number."

Estelle was confused. "Huh?"

Quentin nodded and explained, "Debit card, credit card, Alipay—anything works."

Estelle felt that hearing the word "Alipay" coming out of Quentin’s mouth was actually quite down-to-earth. Before she could say anything, Nathaniel had already handed over a card.

Quentin took it. A minute later, Estelle’s phone rang with a text message from the bank. A million had been deposited into her account.

Quentin said mildly, "This week’s pocket money."

Estelle coughed violently.

A million was indeed pocket change to Quentin. He said apologetically, "Large transactions take a while to process, so I can only give you a million for now. I’ll make up the rest in a few days."

The Yeats family’s pocket money was indeed a bit extravagant. A million a week, and it was still considered pocket change and just for now.

"All the children in the Yeats family get this," Quentin indicated that she shouldn’t worry about this small amount of money. But what he didn’t say was that although the Yeats family was wealthy and generous with their children’s allowances, it usually wasn’t actually this much. The family only provided pocket money to minors; once they came of age, it stopped. Quentin and the others had all taken their saved-up allowances after turning eighteen to make investments.

But Estelle was different. She had been living out there since she was a child. The Yeats family had missed out on too much. They had never helped her during her student years, and naturally, she had never received any pocket money. Now that she was all grown up, they couldn’t turn back the clock. Quentin could only do his best to make it up to her.

"Alright, I’m leaving." Quentin’s lips curled into a smile. Just as he was about to go, he turned back and ruffled Estelle’s hair.

After he left, the lounge returned to silence.

Estelle blinked. "The Yeats family is indeed... very different from what I imagined."

Nathaniel simply noted, "A million isn’t much to the Yeats."

Estelle shook her head. "It’s not about that. I just didn’t expect Quentin to give me money so directly."

Nathaniel smiled. "Actually, Quentin mentioned that he wanted to give you shares directly. Each child in the Yeats family has a fixed number of shares, and your mother’s portion should be left to you.

"But he was afraid you’d refuse, so he didn’t bring it up rashly. He probably plans to give you an allowance first to let you get used to it."

Estelle suddenly remembered a saying: Someone who is willing to spend money on you might not necessarily love you, but someone who loves you will definitely be willing to spend money on you. The Lockwood family had used sweet words to trick her into giving up her inheritance rights, while the Yeats family was trying every possible way to give her money and shares.

"Liam invested in a hotel that just opened a few days ago. Do you want to go check it out?" Nathaniel suddenly changed the subject.

Estelle snapped back to reality. "Sure."

The man smiled faintly. "Alright. Then today, I’ll be your driver."

The hotel Liam had invested in was quite famous in Crestfall. It had just opened, but business was already booming. It was positioned as a high-end establishment, so there weren’t too many guests.

Nathaniel parked the car in front of the hotel, stepped out, and opened the door for Estelle.

Estelle raised an eyebrow. "You’re really going to be my driver?"

"Of course. I’m a man of my word." Nathaniel made a gesture of invitation.

Claire was also staying at this hotel. After all, she was Miss Yeats. Believing her status to be noble, she naturally had to stay in the best hotel in Crestfall. Her sidekick had benefited from the association and also got to stay in the luxurious hotel, feeling incredibly smug.

Claire was in a foul mood. Having been humiliated by Quentin just a few hours ago, she had thrown a massive tantrum the moment she returned. And what did her parents say? They actually told her to endure it! They had claimed that with the true Miss Yeats about to return, it would be best for her to keep a low profile. They warned her not to make a huge scene just because she was offended by some woman, lest she incur the Old Master’s displeasure.

Claire felt incredibly wronged. What did they mean by the true Miss Yeats? Was she not a true lady of the house? She was clearly a member of the Yeats family too. If she couldn’t deal with the Miss Yeats who was about to return, couldn’t she at least deal with Estelle?!

Just as she was thinking this, Claire caught something out of the corner of her eye and abruptly stopped in her tracks. It was Estelle! What a coincidence! She had just been worrying about where to find her, and here Estelle was, delivering herself right to her doorstep!

Her sidekick’s eyes also lit up. "Claire, it’s Estelle!"

At the banquet, Estelle had caused Claire to lose so much face, even forcing her to lower her noble head and apologize. Now, she definitely had to get her dignity back!

Estelle stepped out of the car. Right at that moment, Claire and her sidekick saw the man who had opened the door for her. Both of their eyes widened in awe. This man... he had such a powerful aura and was incredibly handsome. Who was he?!

However, in the next second, they heard Estelle say to him, "You’re quite a responsible driver."

The man chuckled softly. "It’s my honor to serve you."

A driver...? This man was actually just a driver?! What a waste of that handsome face and that noble, powerful presence!

Claire had originally planned to get to know him, but the moment she realized he was merely a driver, she instantly lost all interest.

Her sidekick’s eyes darted around. "Claire, I heard that Estelle is married and has children."

Capital City was too far from Crestfall. The high society of Crestfall knew that Estelle was Nathaniel’s wife, but the visitors from Capital City had no idea. Furthermore, Claire was terribly arrogant. Aside from Nathaniel, she looked down on absolutely everyone in Crestfall. And for certain reasons, in Claire’s mind, Nathaniel belonged to her, so she had never even considered the possibility that he might be married.

Nathaniel kept a low profile, and his photos were rarely found online. Claire didn’t even know what he looked like.

Therefore...
