Title – Strong One (Common)

Title – Maker (Common)

Description: A title borne by a person perceived as the most innovative in a small group.

Effect: 5% increase in comprehension rate for production skills.

Both titles provided only small benefits, but at the same time, they were very important in the society Alruk lived in.

The [Strong One] title was actually an upgrade from his [Strong Baby] title.

As for the [Maker] title, it was the result of him helping modify some of the tools used in the tribe and introducing new materials to create better equipment.

During the past year, the tribe had become livelier and more developed.

Alruk had taught the females how to cook better, as instructed by the chief.

However, he used a trial-and-error approach to portray himself as someone who was also learning.

And truly, he learned.

He discovered new food combinations he had never thought were possible.

The females mixed different leaves and ingredients and, over the course of six months, created many kinds of dishes.

Some of them were things Alruk had subtly guided them toward with hints and clues.

When his hints were not enough, they experimented on their own and created completely new dishes.

Something unexpected happened as well.

Lish, while still learning to cook, once boiled a bowl of water until salt started crystallizing.

At first, no one knew what it was or where the water had gone.

Lish was so scared that she thought a spirit had drunk the water.

One of the young adult females suggested repeating the process, but this time everyone would pay close attention.

When they did, they saw the water slowly reducing as steam rose from the bowl.

After some time, salt formed again.

They were all shocked.

After several more trials—with a few hints from Alruk—they managed to extract salt and even collect clean water from the steam.

However, the process was too long and complicated for them.

In the end, they decided to continue using their old method.

Still, some of them discovered that the clean water was more refreshing to drink.

After all this, within a single year, the village had gained better food and improved drinking water.

But that wasn’t all.

Alruk also taught them how to carve wood more effectively.

And like all young goblins, he himself learned how to mould clay.

They also began using the tusks of Iron Tusk Boars to make knives—one of Alruk’s innovations.

This massively increased the speed at which they prepared meals.

Right now, Alruk sat on his tree.

It was well known that this was where he slept.

It had seemed strange at first, but during the winter, he spent most of his time in the huts like everyone else.

Because of this, the others eventually relaxed and assumed he simply liked the cool night air.

In his previous life, his stats had only reached the threshold of forty when he was ten years old.

By comparison, his current goblin age was roughly equivalent to that of a twelve-year-old human.

Even so, his progress was remarkable considering he lacked the sophisticated training equipment of the civilized races.

‘As expected of a legendary bloodline,’ he thought.

No wonder it had always felt impossible to compete with those from families possessing higher-grade bloodlines.

His current stats might not be comparable to those of his past life, but with the help of his new bloodline and the subtle use of training techniques employed by the civilized races, he had progressed remarkably.

He closed the Archive.

‘After the ceremony tomorrow, the males in my age group and I will start following the adults into the forest to learn how to hunt.’

His mind continued racing.

‘We might not need to kill, but I cannot take too many chances.

I will need to find an excuse to bring traps into the hunt.’

Killing with weapons such as swords, knives, or spells would increase the levels of his combat classes.

Right now, he wanted his stats to grow as high as possible before leveling those classes.

If his stats increased too much from leveling now, it would become harder to improve them through training later.

That would lead to a waste of his true potential.

Hunting with traps, however, could allow him to awaken another lifestyle class—Hunter.

He could also teach this to the tribe.

It would benefit them greatly by reducing direct combat and unnecessary deaths.

While he was planning, the chief stepped out of his hut and spoke to one of the children standing nearby.

“Call Alruk for me.”

The child was one of the young ones from the last ceremony six months earlier.

She nodded and ran toward Alruk.

“Big Brother Al!” she called when she reached the base of his tree.

Turning his attention to her, he saw an energetic little girl with long brown hair and yellow eyes, showing that she possessed the tribe’s bloodline.

She still had some baby fat on her cheeks, reflecting the overall improvement in the tribe’s health.

Alruk asked,

“What it, Nink?”

“Chief ask call you,” she said, pointing toward the chief.

The chief was sitting on a wooden stool outside his hut.

Another stool had been placed beside him, and he was looking directly at Alruk.

Alruk frowned slightly before climbing down.

“Okay.

Go now,” he told Nink before making his way toward the chief.
