Lucian prepared to leave Kansas by train, but for some reason, all the trains leaving Kansas had been halted during this period.

Therefore, Lucian prepared to buy a horse to leave Kansas; he had an ominous feeling that someone might be pulling the strings behind the scenes.

However, he didn’t have enough money, so he had been trying to figure out how to get a horse these past few days.Full novel: Multiverse: Starting From Jojo’s Steel Ball Run — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He did know how to ride.

He planned that if there was no other way, he would steal a horse at night; it was very easy for a Stand User to do such a thing.

Moreover, he wasn’t someone with a moral complex.

Meanwhile, the killer sent by The President had already found him.

Driven by the power of the state, Blackmore arrived much faster than anyone could have imagined.

It had been raining constantly in Kansas lately; perhaps the trial given to Lucian by the Saint’s Corpse had not yet ended.

The corpse was also longing to be reunited.

One day, while Lucian was looking for other ways to leave, he suddenly noticed someone standing in mid-air above his head.

That person was staring intently at him.

Lucian realized the target was clearly himself.

Blackmore threw several glass-like blades made of raindrops at Lucian.

Heartsteel emerged and immediately pulled the cloak behind it to shield itself.

In an instant, the cloak became as solid as a steel plate.

The blades made of rainwater were easily blocked.

After obtaining his Stand, Lucian had specifically bought a large, thick cloak to better utilize his ability and protect himself.

Additionally, he bought a long whip, though he didn’t know how to wield it yet.

However, under the effect of his Stand ability, it could always play a certain role.

Then, Heartsteel rushed toward the target, its fist passing through Blackmore’s chest.

However, it had no effect; his flesh disintegrated into chunks the moment the heavy punch struck, dodging the attack.

Blackmore then continued to move upward along the raindrops.

Heartsteel followed closely behind, but all of its several attacks were evaded by him through the disintegration of his flesh.

Once Blackmore was standing on the raindrops high in the sky, Lucian’s Stand range could no longer reach him.

After realizing his Stand couldn’t hit Blackmore with close-range attacks, Lucian intentionally controlled his range to about 8 meters.

Perhaps he could use this distance discrepancy to catch him off guard later.

Blackmore was very cautious about the enemy before him.

He had no information about the enemy, so he wouldn’t rashly go down.

He raised his handgun and fired repeatedly at Lucian below.

The solid cloak blocked all the bullets.

Lucian had a natural information advantage here; he knew the Stand abilities of almost everyone.

Except for abilities like Civil War, which were impossible to understand at first glance, Lucian was clear about the Stand information of all other enemies.

And the gain or loss of information is extremely fatal in battles between Stand Users.

At this moment, Lucian didn’t dare to move at will.

He couldn’t be sure which raindrop in front of him was being controlled by Blackmore.

Moving rashly would only result in getting cut.

As long as he entered any building, the enemy would be helpless against him.

Or, he could hold out until the heavy rain stopped.

Until then, his cloak should be perfectly capable of helping him withstand all of Blackmore’s attacks.

Blackmore’s Stand’s active offensive capability wasn’t actually that strong, and the Stand would observe the surroundings for him.

Standing overhead, Blackmore finally spoke: “Can I ask you a question?

How do you know the Saint’s Corpse is here, and who is standing behind you?”

Even The President, who had a map recording the corpse parts, couldn’t find every piece precisely.

Yet this man before him had actually found a part directly.

He must know something.

“It’s a bit rude to Stand on someone’s head.

Why don’t you come down, and I’ll tell you the information I know?” Lucian decided that as soon as he came down, he would give him a heavy blow.

“Since you’re unwilling to speak, I’ll just take the corpse parts back.”

After saying that, Blackmore threw a grenade down from above Lucian’s head.

Seeing that the bullets and daggers made of rainwater had no effect, Blackmore chose a more powerful method of attack.

He wanted to see if the man could block an explosion.

Lucian’s Stand punched the thrown grenade away.

An explosion rang out in the city.

The violent shockwave spread in all directions.

Several raindrops remained firmly suspended in the air, unaffected by the shockwave; these were the raindrops controlled by Blackmore.

If one were to crash into them unexpectedly, they would surely suffer great damage.

Watching Lucian’s actions, Blackmore understood that the power of the explosion was something the enemy below couldn’t withstand; otherwise, there would have been no need to punch the grenade away.

Furthermore, looking at his Stand’s range of activity, it was about 8 meters.

The ability should be similar to Magent Magent’s 20th Century Boy.

It seemed less powerful than his; Magent Magent feared no attack whatsoever.

“Why aren’t you moving?

Is it because you can’t move when activating your ability?

Your Stand has to remain still while it’s active?” Blackmore speculated about his ability.

“You think I’d tell you?

Guess for yourself.” Although many Stand Users would explain their abilities to their enemies, Lucian was not that kind of person.

His caution regarding the raindrops had caused the other to make a certain misjudgment.

This point likely also had to do with Magent Magent.

For a moment, neither side could do anything to the other.

Blackmore observed the enemy below for a while, and as if he had thought of something, he pulled out a piece of paper and began writing.

After he put the note away, a change occurred.

Raindrops passed through Blackmore’s cheeks.

His body’s flesh began to decompose.

Parts of his limbs began to fall along with the rain.

His hand and the note he had just written appeared next to a pigeon coop.

He wanted to transmit Lucian’s information.

While Lucian was distracted by this action, another part of Blackmore’s flesh had already dropped onto the cloak with the raindrops.

It flowed downward following the traces of the rainwater.

His teeth suddenly appeared at Lucian’s leg and bit down hard.

Intense pain followed.

Lucian immediately granted his pants the solidity of metal.

Previously, because he was ready to move at any time, Lucian hadn’t given his pants the metal attribute.

After all, it wasn’t easy to move when things were rigid.

The Stand punched at Blackmore’s teeth, but his flesh disintegrated and vanished into the rain again.
