Liu Cuihua and her daughter were unwilling to face this issue, so they found an excuse to drive Lin Jianguo away.

They absolutely had to find a way to stay.

Lin Jianguo didn’t want them to stay, and that leader’s daughter was quite stingy, probably unwilling to help either. So who could they turn to for permission to stay?Full novel: My 1970s Ex-Husband Won’t Come Home, So I’ll Turn Around and Marry His Superior — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The mother and daughter thought it over all night and finally came up with a terrible idea.

Mingxi was somewhat bewildered seeing Liu Cuihua and her daughter sitting in the clinic.

She silently questioned Doctors Liao and Xu with her eyes: Why are these two here?

Doctor Liao rolled his eyes, a helpless expression on his face: No idea, they showed up first thing this morning.

Mingxi sighed softly and decided to ignore them.

Today, besides those coming for scar removal, many young men arrived, all referred by Wang Jun.

Their training intensity was high, inevitably leaving them with various aches and pains. They had snatched two of Wang Jun’s medicinal patches, and applying them felt incredibly soothing, noticeably easing their muscle soreness.

With such effective patches, of course they had to come buy them!

After appreciating the handsome young men for a moment, Mingxi immediately got busy.

For minor issues, she handed out patches; for more severe cases, she gave massages. After Doctors Liao and Xu finished dispensing medicine and distributing patches, they followed Mingxi to learn from her.

Seeing them approach, Mingxi explained while continuing her massage.

The young man under her hands groaned with a mix of pain and relief.

“Doctor Ming, could you go a little lighter?” The young man turned his head, tears glistening in his eyes.

Mingxi gave him a faint smile. Thinking she would ease up, he was met with a pained howl the very next second.

“Can’t go lighter. It won’t be effective if I do.”

Those waiting in line, watching their comrade being worked on like this, felt their own legs go weak.

They had never feared intense training, missions, or even firefights with enemies, but waiting in line for treatment here gave them the eerie sensation of being summoned by the King of Hell.

Lin Hongmei nearly drooled at the sight of so many soldiers.

Although these men couldn’t compare to the one she saw yesterday, it didn’t stop her from salivating.

Liu Cuihua gritted her teeth at the sounds coming from the room.

That shameless hussy!

Even though Mingxi was no longer connected to their family, in her heart, Liu Cuihua still regarded Mingxi as Lin family property.

Lin Jianguo could date and remarry, but Mingxi, in her view, should not have any contact with other men.

Lin Hongmei stood up and peeked into the next room, though it was unclear whether she was trying to learn massage techniques or simply admiring the male scenery.

Indeed, the terrible idea the mother and daughter had concocted was to stay by pretending to be doctors, just like Mingxi.

Since Mingxi had once been part of their Lin family, whatever Mingxi knew, they knew too—that made sense, right?

Traditional Chinese medicine was just about glancing at patients, prescribing herbs, making patches and medicinal creams, and spouting some mystical nonsense.

And that Zhenjiu thing? Just poking people with needles a few times.

It truly is terrifying how ignorance can blind people.

They had always believed themselves superior to Mingxi, always a cut above her. If Mingxi was skilled, then they were convinced they were even more so.

Throughout the morning, the doctors, including Mingxi, were too busy to pay any attention to the two of them, so no one knew what they were up to.

After being treated by Mingxi, these young men all felt refreshed and invigorated, as if those who had been screaming in agony on the bed moments earlier weren’t them at all.

Mingxi found their smug expressions rather amusing: “Just now you were tearfully begging me to go easy, and now after the massage you claim it was only slightly painful. It seems I was too gentle after all.”

Hearing this, the next young man in line turned pale.

“Don’t listen to his boasting, Mingxi! Just use the normal pressure, please,” said the young man lying on the bed, glaring at the previous one.

Watching their playful banter, Mingxi’s eyes softened with affection—these were truly the most endearing people.

By noon, many still hadn’t had their turn, so they were scheduled for the afternoon.

Mingxi’s hands were nearly exhausted, but fortunately, Doctor Liao and Doctor Xu were able to assist.

It wasn’t that they were incapable of learning; rather, their previous instructor hadn’t taught them properly—perhaps that teacher had been incompetent himself.

By the end of the day, thanks to the young men’s enthusiastic promotion, Mingxi’s reputation soared, making her the most popular among them.

Consequently, even more people showed up the next day.

Lin Hongmei and Liu Cuihua decided to stir up trouble.

They claimed outside the hospital that they also knew how to perform massages, insisting Mingxi had taught them.

The young men, being straightforward, believed them—after all, who would dare to deceive others within the compound?

Perhaps due to the large crowd today, the doctors set up an outdoor massage area.

Lin Hongmei immediately started, but the young man’s body was full of muscles, and she had no knowledge of acupoints, leaving her unsure how to proceed.

After some thought, she picked up an embroidery needle.

“Let me perform Zhenjiu (acupuncture) on you; it’ll make you feel more comfortable.”

The young man didn’t suspect a thing.

Just as Lin Hongmei was about to begin, Zhao Qingling arrived at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmacy to buy yao gao (medicinal cream) and witnessed the scene.

“Stop right there!” Zhao Qingling rushed over and shoved Lin Hongmei away, causing the needle in her hand to fall to the ground.

The young man prepared for acupuncture stared blankly at the suddenly intervening Zhao Qingling.

With a dark expression, Zhao Qingling demanded, “What are you planning to do with that needle?”

Lin Hongmei glanced at Liu Cuihua, who cleared her throat and said, “Zhenjiu (acupuncture). We were going to perform Zhenjiu on him.”

The young man nodded in agreement. “Yes, they said they learned it from Doctor Ming. Probably Doctor Ming saw how many of us there were and sent them to help out.”

Zhao Qingling was so shocked her eyes widened in disbelief. Staring at Liu Cuihua and her daughter, seeing their self-righteous attitude, she let out an angry laugh.

“You, performing Zhenjiu? You can barely read—how could you possibly know Zhenjiu? Mingxi has such a poor relationship with you; there’s no way she would teach you medical skills.”

Zhao Qingling, who planned to study medicine herself and came from a family of doctors, couldn’t allow these two to disgrace the profession.

The young man was stunned again—these two weren’t additional doctors sent by the hospital; they were frauds!

Liu Cuihua hadn’t expected Zhao Qingling to expose them so directly.

In her view, since Zhao Qingling had feelings for Lin Jianguo, she should have been currying favor with them.

But Zhao Qingling’s attitude toward them was completely unexpected.

Zhao Qingling coldly eyed the mother and daughter, recalling what Mingxi had told her in the cafeteria and their repulsive faces when they snatched her belongings.

“So Mingxi was right—your hearts are truly malicious!”

Liu Cuihua’s temper flared instantly at her scolding: “How dare you speak to me like that? Don’t even think about setting foot in my house again!”

Lin Hongmei, that troublemaker, chimed in again, “Exactly! I’ll never allow my brother to marry you!”
