As I walked out of Ms.

Flores’ office, all I could think about was that last thing she said.

Her tone, still laced with that “I’m-the-boss” flavor, basically screamed: no matter how much I understand something, I still need to check in with her opinion.Full novel: My Alluring Lady Boss: A Forbidden Workplace Romance — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Classic leadership flex.

No manager is any different, and Ms.

Flores sure isn’t.

That little speech?

Just a reminder of who’s calling the shots around here.

Right after stepping out, I bumped into Lauren Taylor from PR.

We’d sat at the same table during lunch—tall, eye-catching, and it didn’t help that today she was rocking this tiny skirt.

One little shift on the chair and—yeah, you’d be seeing a lot more than you were supposed to.

Swaying those hips like she owned the hallway, she came right up to me and threw me a wink.

That look was deadly.

Seriously, she looked like one of those seductive characters straight out of a drama series.

Just oozing allure.

I couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like to…

well, you get the idea.

My body picked up on her vibe fast.

Blood running hot out of nowhere.

I had to look away just to stop my mind from going places.

“Hey Andrew, got a second?

I need a little favor.”

“What kind of favor?”

“Something broke.

Thought maybe you could take a look?”

“What, something broke and you figure I’m the guy to fix it?”

She tilted her head, noticing the grin on my face.

Probably replaying what had just come out of our mouths, and realizing it sounded…

well, kinda off.

“Andrew, you’re terrible.

Always twisting my words.”

“Come on, how am I being terrible?” Honestly, I hadn’t thought anything weird until she reacted that way.

If anything, she’s the one who read too much into it.

She hit me with a playful punch, leaning in like she was pouting.

“You’re literally the worst.

I meant my computer!

It’s acting up and I could really use your help.”

“Ah, now I heard that loud and clear—your computer’s broken.

You should’ve been that specific earlier.

I had no clue at first what you were even referring to.”

“Ugh, you’re too much.

Let’s go already!”

“Lauren, lucky for us no one else overheard the start of that convo…

They would’ve had a field day.

Seriously though, next time, just say exactly what you mean.

Saves both of us the confusion.”

“You’re loving this, aren’t you?

I’m the one who’s totally embarrassed now.”

“Okay, okay.

I’ll stop laughing.

I’m kinda laughing at myself anyway.

When did I start sounding like such a creep?

Always thought I was the gentleman type.”

“Aha!

So you were messing with me on purpose!”

“I swear I wasn’t.

Didn’t get what you were saying ’til halfway through.”

“If you were pretending not to get it just to joke around, I swear I’d make you pay.”

“Yeah, well…

girls these days?

Scary when they get mad.”

“Andrew!

Was that a low-key dig at me?”

“Lauren, you pick up on everything.

I can’t say a word without you reading into it.”

“That’s because you always pack your words with double meanings.

I’ll let it slide—this time.”

Lauren led me into the PR department—it was definitely a women’s domain.

But honestly?

Not a bad place to be stuck.

The girls here were all stunning, way easier on the eyes than the couple of plain ones back in my own office.

I figured Anyael’s PR strategy must be the “beauty wins all” kind.

There were two guys too, both decent-looking.

One of them was that guy people compared me to when I first got here.

As I walked in, that handsome guy gave me a quick glance—I couldn’t remember his name.

But whatever, I was way more interested in looking at the girls.

The office had that faint, sweet smell that’s just unmistakably feminine.

“Andrew, over here,” Lauren said in this overly friendly tone, grabbing my hand and pulling me over to her desk.

“Computer died on you?”

“Won’t even start.”

Lauren slid her chair out a bit to give me space to check it out.

I wasn’t exactly a tech genius, but I could handle the usual stuff.

I crouched down and got under her desk to take a look at the power setup.

She stayed in the chair, watching me.

I fiddled with the cables and plugs, and yeah—looked like something just got nudged.

Probably her foot hit the cord or something.

Right when I figured it out and turned to tell her, I froze.

Damn.

Lauren’s legs weren’t entirely together, and she was too caught up watching me fix her setup to realize she was, well…

kinda exposed.

I found myself sticking around down there a little too long, pretending to still be working.

My hands were busy moving random cords, but my eyes—well, they were sneaking glances.

It was one of those moments where the mystery of it was even more tantalizing than seeing it all.

Rogue thoughts crashed into my brain.

My focus zeroed in, imagining my hand brushing up from her ankle, traveling slowly upward…

She had no idea someone right next to her was mentally crossing all sorts of lines.

And a part of me thought—if she never notices, maybe I could just stay like this a little longer.

But the more I looked, the more uncomfortable I got.

Things got…

tight.

Painfully tight.

I clenched my teeth and told myself to stop.

This was messed up.

Creepy even.

I tried to talk myself out of it, but I wasn’t strong-willed enough to pull away.

Just then, Lauren shifted in her chair, turning her legs to the side.

My view vanished in an instant, and weirdly, I felt this wave of disappointment, like something precious just slipped away.

“Andrew, you done?”

“Almost.”

“Let me see if I can boot it.”

“Go ahead.”

She leaned forward and hit the power button.

That glimpse of her thighs under that flirty little skirt?

Way hotter than I was ready for.

“All good now.

What was wrong?” she asked.

“Loose cable—probably your foot hit it.”

Talking snapped me back.

My body started to cool down.

I stood up slowly.

“Thanks, Andrew.

Really.””It’s fine, really.

Not a big deal.

And if your computer’s actually messed up, I doubt I could’ve done much anyway.”

Lauren walked me out of their office, but the image she left behind…

yeah, that stayed burned in my brain all the way back to my seat.

Like some movie scene on loop.

Once work hours were over and everyone started heading out, I shut the door but didn’t bother locking it.

I was waiting for Sophia, so I ended up clicking into some casual browser games.

Barely ten minutes in, I must’ve misclicked or something, and bam—a new window pops up.

One of those free movie sites.

The kind with busty thumbnails and some super suggestive movie titles flashing on screen…

You can imagine the horror when your boss catches you watching that kind of stuff at work.

I saw Sophia standing right behind me and nearly died from embarrassment.

But she was just standing there, eyes fixed on the screen like she was actually into it.

And before I could reach the mouse to shut it down, her hand—yeah, it was already on my chest, gently brushing over it.

As I was about to close it, she stopped me.

“Andrew, wait.

If you’re really into this kind of thing, I don’t mind chilling and watching with you.”

I couldn’t believe it.

That was the first time I’d ever heard Sophia tell me to call her ‘sis’—and in that tone.

That took some of the edge off my nerves.

Looked like she didn’t mind the little accident.

In fact, she almost seemed…

curious.

Like she wanted to stick around and see more.

“Sophia, I…”

She didn’t let me finish, just kept caressing me, then leaned down and gave me a soft kiss on the forehead.

I could tell, just from her expression—and how she was looking at the screen.

That spark was real.

The video’s audio was turned down low, but it was still playing in the background.

Her cheeks were flushed, and her hand was getting warmer and more intense with every touch.

“Soph, I swear I was just gaming.

The site popped up on its own, I clicked it out of curiosity.

Probably some virus or malware.

I’ll clean it up.”

“Andrew, I’m not mad.

If you’re interested, let’s watch it a bit,” she teased.

A thought crossed my mind—was she seriously cool with this?

Not only not upset, but down to watch too?

Normally, a boss would go off on their employee for something like this.

Yet here she was, flipping the script entirely.

Her tone, the look on her face—it was all one big, bold signal.

Honestly, I wasn’t holding back anymore.

Right now, Sophia was the only one on my mind.

“Andrew, come on, we shouldn’t…

it’s the office.”

“Work day’s over.

It’s just us now, Soph.

Can’t we just…”

“I’m scared…

this isn’t right,” she whispered, but in the next second, she wrapped her arms tightly around me.
