Olivia paused for a second, then cleared her throat and muttered with a flushed face, “Ethan, if you can heal me, I’m willing to…

give you my first kiss.”

“What are you even talking about?” Ethan looked completely serious.Full novel: My Assassin Wife Unlocks My Harem System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“I pointed at my face to indicate you should use moisturizer. Rub it in daily and stick with it for a while. That’s all.”

The moment she realized what he meant, Olivia’s face turned an even deeper red.

“Wait, that’s it? That actually works?”

Ethan didn’t answer.

He just pointed at his cheek again.

Olivia, embarrassed and annoyed, glared at him.

“What now? You want me to do it for real?”

Ethan shook his head.

“Nah. I mean, if nothing improves after seven days, you can slap me.”

Speechless, Olivia covered her face, which was practically on fire.

She’d never felt this embarrassed in her life—not even close.

Chloe laughed so hard she nearly choked, pointing at Olivia.

“Oh my god, Olivia, he’s such a straight-laced guy, and here you are, throwing him such a wild offer. Who knew you had it in you?”

Mortified, Olivia wanted to vanish into thin air.

She tugged at Chloe’s sleeve, dragging her towards the patient room.

“Let’s just go see Donna.”

Chloe nodded and, as they walked, gave Ethan a playful wink over her shoulder.

Ethan grinned.

“Donna!” Chloe called out as she got to the bedside, throwing herself onto Donna with excitement.

She hugged her tight and gave her a shake, making the bed creak under the pressure.

Donna smiled faintly, a bit overwhelmed by Chloe’s energy and quickly asked her to ease up a little.

The two had been besties for years, and seeing each other always brought joy.

“Let me formally introduce you,” Chloe grinned, pointing at Ethan, “This is my friend Ethan…”

Donna had already noticed him.

She just gave a dry smile and turned her head the other way.

She didn’t remember the events from the night before, but based on what Olivia told her, her impression of Ethan was far from good.

The word “creep” even crossed her mind.

Ethan stood there, still polite, giving her a small nod and smile.

Though Donna looked cold, something about her made it feel more approachable than off-putting.

Ethan actually found it refreshing compared to the intimidating chill of the assassin he’d once encountered.

Her kind of coldness didn’t freeze you; it intrigued you.

And, well, with her stunning looks and elegant figure, Ethan couldn’t help but swallow without thinking.

“Ethan, since you’re already here as a doctor,” Chloe said, turning to him, “why not take a look at Donna while you’re at it?”Before Ethan could say anything, Donna cut in coldly, “No need.

I’m doing fine.

I’ll be discharged this afternoon.”

“Donna’s right,” Ethan said with a nod.

“She’s recovering well. Apart from mouth ulcers, tooth nerve pain, and some shoulder issues, she’s good.”

Donna’s brows instantly furrowed.

That was exactly what she’d been dealing with, and it was seriously messing with her mood.

But how did Ethan even know?

Olivia quickly shook her head and turned to Ethan, a bit surprised.

“How do you know what’s going on with Donna?”

“Let’s not ask the obvious, okay?” Ethan shrugged.

“There’s only one explanation: I’m a doctor.

I’m a doctor.

I’m a doctor.

Gotta say it three times so it sticks—I’m a doctor.”

“You’re a doctor?

Where’s your license then?” Donna shot back, her face as proud as ever.

“Well, that Dr. Grace from earlier—she has her license and even holds a deputy title at such a young age. Did she figure out your symptoms?”

Donna snorted.

“So people with licenses aren’t reliable, and those without one are even sketchier?”

She turned her head away with a dismissive flick.

The movement revealed her lean, flawless silhouette.

Her figure curved like a perfect S from the waist down, sexy in the most effortless way—even in a hospital gown.

Ethan blinked.

Damn.

She really pulled off sexy in scrubs.

For real.

For a second, he thought about using his x-ray skill to admire the view—but no, that’d be crossing a line.

He wasn’t the kind of guy to abandon his professional ethics.

Unless Donna said something didn’t feel right.

Then, well…

he’d “examine” very carefully.

“Hmph,” Olivia scoffed, catching Ethan’s look.

She’d been warming up to him earlier during her own check-up, but now, seeing that lewd spark in his eyes, her annoyance flared.

“Ethan, Donna and Chloe need a moment alone. Can you step out for a bit?”

Even Chloe picked up on the tension.

Donna clearly wasn’t a fan of Ethan.

To ease the awkwardness, Chloe smiled and nodded at Ethan.

“Wait for me outside, okay?

I’ll be right there.””Alright,” Ethan nodded and started heading for the door.

“Donna’s really not in any serious trouble.

Just wait till the inflammation goes down.

As for those red spots on her chin?

Probably just some pimples, might leave a couple tiny scars.”

“What did you just say?” Donna snapped her head over.

“Pimples? On my face? And scars?”

If there’s one thing a beauty can’t tolerate, it’s zits ruining her face.

The thought alone made her skin crawl — her chin already felt a bit itchy, and the worry began to creep in. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.

“You can check in the mirror,” Ethan said casually as he walked toward the exit.

“You’ve already got a red spot on your neck.”

Panicking, Donna grabbed the mirror from beside her pillow and checked.

Sure enough, on the left side of her neck, there it was — a noticeable red bump, just about ready to turn white.

It felt like discovering a scar smack in the middle of her face.

Her cheeks flushed, and she turned toward Ethan again.

“Is there anything you can do to get rid of them?”

Standing by the door now, Ethan shrugged.

“I’m not a licensed doctor.”

Donna’s face fell.

Seeing Ethan about to leave, she turned to Olivia for help.

“Liv, get him back here. Now.”

Olivia hesitated for a second, then walked quickly over to Ethan, not bothering to sugarcoat it.

“Ethan, come on. If you help Donna out with her skin issue, there might be something in it for you.”

He acted like she hadn’t said a word and just kept going.

“Ethan!” Olivia got anxious.

She reached out and grabbed his arm.

“Didn’t you hear Donna?

She’s asking you.”

He shook his head, repeating calmly, “Still not a licensed doctor.”

“Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me.” Olivia gave his arm a strong yank.

“Get back here!”

“Whoa!” Ethan stumbled and fell right into her — chest to chest.

Suddenly, he was wrapped in her scent — soft and sweet, kinda like osmanthus.

He looked half dazed.

“What the hell are you doing?” Olivia felt the impact on her chest, heart racing.

Embarrassed, she shoved him off.

Ethan blinked, flustered.

“You’re the one grabbing and yanking me. You break my head, you paying for the medical bills?”

What a shameless jerk — got a free hug and still had the nerve to complain!

Olivia shot him a glare and raised her hands in surrender.

“Fine, fine.

Can I officially ask you to come back now?

Satisfied?”

“You drama queens wear me out.

My poor heart can’t take it.

I’m done here.” Ethan turned and walked out into the hallway.

Olivia clenched her teeth, exhausted, and threw a helpless look at Donna.

Donna frowned, clearly fed up.

“Liv, seriously? You can’t even convince one college dude?”

That did it.

Olivia narrowed her eyes and, without another word, stormed out the room, going after Ethan.
