“That felt amazing, Ethan. You’re seriously a lifesaver…” Donna closed her eyes in satisfaction, breathing softly.

She slowly turned, took Ethan’s hand, pressing it gently against her chest, then slid her other arm around his leg.

Ethan stayed calm on the outside, like some seasoned massage guru, but inside?

His heart was pounding like crazy.

“Sure thing,” he quickly replied.

Just as things were getting intense, Olivia, noticing Ethan’s hand about to move to Donna’s chest, clenched her jaw and stepped up.

Without a word, she pinched hard at his waist.

“Ah—!” Ethan yelped, glaring at her.

“What was that for?! You can’t just interrupt like that—someone could get seriously messed up, you know?”

That shout snapped Donna out of her daze like a bolt of lightning.

Realizing her hand was still gripping Ethan’s and the other around his leg, her face turned beet red.

She spun around and covered her burning cheeks, mortified.

Her mind raced: What just happened?

Why was I holding Ethan like that?

She couldn’t come up with an answer, but her body felt great—light and pain-free.

The ache in her right shoulder?

Gone.

And all thanks to Ethan’s hands?

That couldn’t be just coincidence.

Still, replaying what she just did made her want to dig a hole and crawl in.

Total.

Embarrassment.

Chloe frowned at Olivia.

“Seriously, Olivia? Ethan was just helping Donna, and you cut him off? Why?”

Olivia gave a dry laugh.

“Donna was sweating… I thought I’d help her wipe it off.”

She grabbed a towel and started patting Donna dry.

Ethan, also sweating a little, wiped his forehead with a tissue and headed toward the restroom.

“It’s fine. The session helped clear the toxins. A shower would be perfect now.”

As he passed Olivia, he couldn’t help but get even.

His fingers pinched her waist—hard.

Payback’s a must!

“Hey!” Olivia squealed, glaring at him.

But remembering she’d hit him first, she gritted her teeth and swallowed the complaint.

Fine, pretty boy.

Game on.

Donna was still blushing like mad, looking like a shy little girl.

Chloe chuckled. This story is hosted at g.com.

“Alright, Donna, Ethan and I are heading out.

If you ever want another session, just call me, okay?”

“Yes, totally!” Ethan chimed in excitedly.

“Anytime you need me!”

Donna couldn’t take it anymore.

Her face turned even redder.

She covered her cheeks with one hand, waving them off with the other like she couldn’t get them out of the room fast enough.Ethan and Chloe exchanged a glance and headed for the door.

They hadn’t taken more than two steps before halting in their tracks.

A good-looking guy in a white suit was strutting over, flanked by four bodyguards in black.

In front of them was a massive golden cake, easily as tall as a person.

The words on it read: “Happy Birthday to Our Goddess Donna!”

Ethan and Chloe both shot each other a smirk and moved off to the side, clearly unimpressed.

They knew exactly who this was—Alexander Rex, Ethan’s classmate and the vice president of the Cloudshore Medical University student council.

His dad used to be a notorious underworld figure in Cloudshore, later cleaned up and became some big-shot entrepreneur and philanthropist.

So yeah, Alexander was pretty much royalty on campus—half gangster, half silver spoon.

Ethan and Chloe had little respect for him.

His background was questionable, his personality domineering, and his track record with women was…

well, ridiculous.

He once tried chasing Chloe, but she didn’t give him the time of day.

Now he had his eyes set on Donna, who also couldn’t care less about him.

“What’s this about?” Olivia stepped up, frowning.

Alexander gave her a polished smile.

“Liv, today’s Donna’s birthday.

I brought this cake to celebrate.

Had the best pastry chef in Cloudshore spend forty-eight hours on it.

Impressive, right?”

“Sorry, Alex, but Donna’s birthday is tomorrow.

You’ve got it wrong,” Olivia cut him off coldly.

“No worries,” Alexander chuckled, still composed.

“We’ll celebrate today, and again tomorrow if she wants. Donna, happy birthday!”

Donna was lying in her hospital bed, face like stone.

She didn’t respond at all.

Seeing her cold reaction, Olivia turned to Alexander again.

“She needs rest. Please leave.”

But Alexander stood his ground, still behind his golden cake.

“I just want her to have a taste. She doesn’t even have to blow out the candles. I put a lot into this.”

Olivia could tell—he wasn’t backing off so easily.

His thick skin was on full display, and while she was Donna’s bodyguard, Alexander’s status made the situation tricky.

She glanced at Chloe, hoping for backup. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.

Chloe, already irritated by Alexander forcing this on her friend, shot him a glare.

“Alex, seriously, what’s the point of all this?”

Alexander, who had been intentionally ignoring her until now, finally turned his eyes her way with a smug, dismissive look.

“Chloe, this is between me and Donna.

What’s it got to do with you?””Of course it matters—Donna’s my best friend!” Chloe shot Alexander a glare.

“Are you leaving or not?

If not, I’m calling someone over!”

“Go ahead.” Alexander gave her a mocking grin and waved his hand.

“Call whoever you want.”

Chloe grew even more furious, pulling out her phone.

Just as she was about to make the call, Olivia suddenly raised her voice, “Ethan, toss that cake out for me!”

Ethan rubbed his temples and gave Olivia an annoyed look.

Seriously?

You’re using me to get back at me now?

Couldn’t be more obvious.

“Ethan, I trust you. Get rid of that cake,” Olivia insisted again, her tone sweet but with a hidden smirk.

You deal with Alexander for me, let’s see how that goes!

Chloe caught on quick—it was a setup.

“Olivia, Ethan isn’t—”

“Chloe, don’t interrupt. Ethan’s got this!” Olivia cut her off, then turned to Alexander with a grin.

“Alexander, this is Ethan. He’s a student at Cloudshore Medical too. You wanna give out cake, you better get past him first.”

Alexander’s eyes scanned Ethan with obvious disdain.

A nobody—definitely not on his radar at school.

He scoffed without bothering to hide it.

“Olivia, come on!” Ethan shot her a glare, clenching his jaw.

But there was no backing down now.

If he bailed here, Donna would definitely look down on him.

Chloe too.

And let’s be real—he could stand up to cold-blooded assassins, but not some spoiled rich kid?

Ethan took a deep breath, steadied himself, and looked Alexander right in the eyes.

“Rex, Donna needs rest. Walk away now, and we’ll all just pretend this never happened.”

Alexander let out a soft laugh.

The black-suited bodyguards at the door chuckled too, shoulders shaking—this kid was playing tough?

Seriously?

“Rex, I’ll say it once more. Leave now, or I’ll make you.” Ethan’s voice was steady, his stare locked onto Alexander.

Alexander burst out laughing.

The guards were almost doubling over in amusement now; to them, Ethan was just a clown putting on a show.

“Do it, Ethan!” Olivia egged him on gleefully.

This was going to be fun.

Chloe turned her gaze toward Ethan, worried but saying nothing.

Even Donna, lying on the hospital bed, subtly shifted her head to watch—curious to see what Ethan would really do.
