Hearing a knock at the door, Jiang Ning quickly walked over and opened it. Su Meng stood there in a daze, holding a car key in her hand. When she saw Jiang Ning, fresh from the shower, his aura paired with the open robe revealing his defined chest muscles made her momentarily lose herself. Especially with his body radiating masculinity after the bath, combined with the aura that came with his beginner-level martial arts cultivation, Su Meng nearly fell for him right there.

Jiang Ning asked, “CEO Su, is something wrong?”

Su Meng finally snapped out of it when she heard his voice. “Oh, oh, it’s nothing. I just wanted to give you the BMW key for the underground garage. I was afraid I might forget to hand it over tomorrow when I rush out.”Full novel: My Best Friend Begged Me to Be a Stay-at-Home Dad for the CEO Goddess — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She spoke quickly and nervously, her face flushed red. After handing over the car key to Jiang Ning, she turned and hurried back to her room.

With a “bang,” the door closed behind her.

Su Meng patted her chest and thought, “What was that just now?” Her heart was racing nonstop. “So embarrassing! What’s wrong with me?”

She dove into her bed and pulled the blanket over her face. She couldn’t stop cringing.

The night passed quietly.

Early the next morning, Jiang Ning got up to prepare breakfast. Walking into the kitchen and seeing the wide variety of ingredients, he quickly had an idea. He decided to make a cartoon-style nutritious breakfast for Mengmeng.

He mixed flour, eggs, and milk into a smooth batter and poured it into cartoon-shaped molds. Before long, cute pancakes shaped like little bears and bunnies came out of the pan. He then used fruits to arrange smiley faces and paired everything with three cups of hot, creamy milk.

After finishing the breakfast, he went upstairs to Mengmeng’s bedroom. He gently said, “Mengmeng, time to get up. The sun is shining on your butt.”

That was something his mother used to say to him when he was a child.

Mengmeng, still half-asleep, muttered, “Uncle Jiang, Mengmeng wants to sleep a bit more.”

Jiang Ning patiently coaxed her, “Nope, Mengmeng can’t be a little lazybug. Our Mengmeng is a good girl who sleeps early and wakes up early.”

Upon hearing that, Mengmeng immediately sat up and said, “Right! Mengmeng is a good girl. Mengmeng is not a lazybug. I’m getting up now!”

Jiang Ning then helped her wash up, and they came out of the room.

At the doorway, Su Meng was leaning against the frame, watching them with interest.

Jiang Ning smiled and said, “Oh, good morning, CEO Su. Why are you standing here? How long have you been here? I didn’t even notice.”

Just now, Jiang Ning had been completely focused on Mengmeng and hadn’t noticed that Su Meng had been quietly observing how he interacted with the child. His serious and attentive manner genuinely touched her. Follow the newest chapters on novelping(.)com.

Su Meng smiled and nodded, “Morning, Jiang Ning. I just came out after washing up.”

Jiang Ning said, “Perfect. Since you’re both up, let’s go downstairs and have breakfast together.” He held Mengmeng’s hand.

Mengmeng said sweetly, “Good morning, Mommy! Mengmeng is not a lazybug. Mengmeng is a good girl!”

Su Meng squatted down and rubbed Mengmeng’s little head, saying, “Yes, my Mengmeng is the best.”

The three of them took the elevator to the first floor. If an outsider saw them, they’d definitely think they were a warm, happy family. The image of these three together was the very picture of familial bliss.

Su Meng called out cheerfully, “Mengmeng, come eat breakfast!”

Mengmeng bounced over to the table. Seeing the adorable food laid out before her, her eyes widened, “Wow! Uncle Jiang, is this all for me? It looks amazing!”

Jiang Ning encouraged her, “Try it and see if it tastes good.”

Mengmeng picked up a little bear-shaped pancake, took a bite, and squinted her eyes with joy, “Yummy! So yummy! Uncle Jiang makes the best food!”

Su Meng looked at the pancakes, realizing that Jiang Ning must have used the molds in the kitchen to make them. They looked great, but she wasn’t sure how they would taste. She had tried using those molds before, but her results weren’t as creative or appealing.

However, the moment she took a bite, her opinion changed.

This man… why does everything he makes taste so good?

These pancakes made from the simplest ingredients tasted hundreds—no, thousands—of times better than the ones she made herself.

If she were to eat food like this every day, her figure would be ruined for sure.

Normally, she would only eat a tiny bite of pancake in the morning and drink a glass of hot milk. But today, she couldn’t resist the temptation and completely lost her self-control. She ended up eating five times her usual amount—and still wanted more.

Then she looked at Jiang Ning, who was eating pancakes calmly, and gave him a playful glare.

Of course, Jiang Ning had no idea what Su Meng was thinking. In fact, he still doubted his own cooking skills and was eager to raise them to divine-level and become a true culinary master. He didn’t believe that Mengmeng wouldn’t run over the second he called her for food.

Seeing that Su Meng had finished all the breakfast he prepared for her, Jiang Ning smiled in satisfaction.

He had intentionally prepared a smaller portion for her. He knew that Su Meng and Mengmeng ate about the same amount. What he didn’t know was that Su Meng actually ate even less than Mengmeng. To maintain her perfect figure, she had kept to that portion size for six years.

But ever since Jiang Ning arrived yesterday, every meal felt like watching a beautiful woman undressing—half hidden, half revealed—tempting her taste buds endlessly.

Her cravings had protested countless times during each meal.

If it weren’t for her strong self-control, she would’ve gorged herself just to silence the hunger in her belly.

Suddenly, she thought of her best friend Hong Yueyin. She also loved her figure and always ate very little. Su Meng made a mental note to drag her over after this business trip and make her drool with jealousy.

As she thought about it, she imagined Hong Yueyin’s frustrated expression and couldn’t help but giggle to herself.

Seeing Su Meng laugh, Jiang Ning looked up and saw her laughing alone, completely confused.

Jiang Ning asked, “CEO Su, what’s so funny?”

Mengmeng also looked up and tilted her head, puzzled. “Mommy, what are you thinking about? Why are you laughing like that?”

Su Meng coughed lightly and quickly said, “Ahem, I’m full. Jiang Ning, I’ll be counting on you to take care of Mengmeng for the next three months. I’m leaving now.”

She awkwardly got up and left.

Jiang Ning still found it strange. But seeing Su Meng smile like that this morning—he had to admit, she looked truly beautiful. Yesterday, when they first met, she spoke to him with such a cold expression. But now, she had opened up a lot. She wasn’t like what people said about her being cold and unapproachable. When she smiled, she was stunning.

After Su Meng left the villa, Mengmeng leaned in and asked softly, “Uncle Jiang, what happened to Mommy just now? Why was she laughing all by herself? We didn’t even tell a joke.”

Jiang Ning replied, “Hmm, maybe she remembered something happy, so she laughed to herself.”

“Alright then. Let’s eat, Mengmeng. After breakfast, I’ll take you to the supermarket to buy some fruits, vegetables, and meat.”

“Okay!” Mengmeng nodded eagerly.
