Elena had no idea she had attracted a major client’s attention and was still in a daze over earning 50 Luni in one go.

Although the fine flour costed nearly 5.75 and the coarse grain and cornmeal mixed in costed roughly a Luni and the meat, being expensive, costed over 20 Luni and including eggs, it costed roughly 5 Luni

So all in all, she had spent roughly 31-32 Luni and gotten 52 Luni and some cents. It meant her net profit for one day itself was over 20 Luni.Full novel: My Childhood Rival Fell for Me After I Became a Country Girl — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Even she was stunned by the sudden windfall.

She had planned to take it slow as it would take a while to sell these even in the town given she had no reputation but the sudden windfall was unexpected.

But now she had over 50 Luni in hand and a stunned mother.

Mary never thought it would sell out, let alone so soon.

She was stunned beyond measure.

50 Luni was almost half of what they earned after working through the year in the fields.

And now they had earned that in just a day.

Well, not really.

They had just earned over 20 Luni but it was still surprising.

Elena didn’t seem to mind it much though.

Her monthly savings used to exceed that so she was used to such amounts of money.

Still, she chose to buy the fine flour, pork and grains and eggs from the same shops to get discounts.

And it stunned the shop owners but they were happy for their business and didn’t probe much.

Actually, they couldn’t care less as long as they sold out.

This time, Elena planned to make 500 as she seemed to have found a repeat buyer.

She was sure he’d buy it again.

Thus, she ended up spending almost the entire money she earned in one morning.

Mary was just left stunned again and again.

First at earning so much money then spending it so whimsically fast.

It really altered her worldview.

She didn’t even know what to say anymore.

The only consolation was that this was her daughter and she would support her to the fullest.

She had even brought her savings to buy from Elena if she left unsold but now it ended up being useless.

Elena of course didn’t know it and thus, she hauled the goodies home.

She didn’t immediately start cooking as she planned to cook after dinner for the next day.

500 buns was a huge amount and she needed all the help she could get from Mary and Sarah.

She could’ve used neighbours or cousins but none had come to greet her or meet her despite the news spreading far and wide and it had been a month already since she came here.

Of course, she was petty and held grudges over something as little as this.

Thus, the next day came by in which Elena and Mary went to town again around the same time, lotering the same roads, waiting for Luan.

After about ten minutes of roaming and selling a few buns to strangers, the two arrived.

Elena was surprised to see a beautiful girl with Luan but didn’t seem to probe.

She just greeted the both of them with a nod and waited for them to speak.

"Hello, miss, may I ask where did you get these buns from?" The lady asked instantly.

Astonished, Elena turned to Luan, wondering what he meant by this.

Luan, scared that she won’t sell to him anymore, hurriedly explained, "This is my major client."

Elena, seemingly understanding, explained, "I made them myself."

"Oh? May I try one?" The lady asked politely.

Elena didn’t sense any malice and thus gave her one.

She wasn’t afraid of the lady not paying because Luan was right there and she understood the complex politics in buisness.

"Hmm. It is indeed the same taste," the lady exclaimed.

"How many do you have?" She asked.

"About 490," Elena answered.

"Good, give me all of it," The lady declared.

Elena raised a brow, "These costs twenty cents each that’s 98 Luni."

The lady didn’t hesitate and brought out ten ten-Luni bills and handed them over instantly.

She then turned towards Luan who understood immediately and hauled them including the baskets.

"Can you supply me 500 buns daily from now?" The lady asked casually.

Elena, surprised, calmly accepted the situation and asked, "What are you gonna do with it?"

Seemingly intrigued, the lady replied, "My name is Paula and I work as a manager for this training school and I was trying to find some good food for the kids which is filling as well as nutritious."

Elena looked at Paula and shook her hand, saying, "My name is Elena Bennet. You can find me in the Happy Village nearby and I’ll supply the buns at a disocunted rate of 18 cents per bun to you."

She wasn’t taking a loss. She just got a guaranteed 500 daily order which meant more than 40 Luni net profit everyday.

It was enough to drive Mary insane as she stood there stupefied, not understanding how her daughter could be this calm about it.

Paula, too, liked her attitude and the two closed the deal.

Now the price of 500 buns was ninety Luni which was a whole lot less and Paula was naturally satisfied.

But she was stunned as Elena returned one ten Luni note to her. "For today’s deal. I won’t shortcharge you."

Paula smiled and returned it, "Just keep it. Consider it making friends."

Elena didn’t reject and calmly tucked it away and the two girls smiled at each other as Luan and Paula headed away.

Elena too headed to the stores to purchase her rations.

Now she had to make 500 buns everyday and more to sell or else, it would be hard to turn over a profit.

She would turn out to have stagnant profits if she only sold 500 daily and it was hard to rely on such a stranger so Elena planned to make a 100 more to sell in town.

Her hardwork would increase but 600 buns sold everyday was enough.

She would turn over a tidy profit and earn money all the while living well.

It was enough for her.

She didn’t need to splurge and the money would last her a long time.

Mary was stunned by the entire sequence of events and hadn’t had found her voice until now.

She still found the sudden windfall hard to believe but given Elena’s calm, she had no chocie but to believe it.

"Elena, what are we gonna do now?" Mary asked.

"Just do what we are doing," Elena answered with a smile.
