The distance between Li Heng and the wounded Blood Wolf was short. The beast clearly hadn’t expected this human to dodge its Blood Rend and counterattack so quickly.
Using a Soul Energy Skill at such a short range was impossible; the Blood Wolf needed a moment to "cast." But Li Heng was too fast, leaving the wounded wolf with neither the time nor the distance it needed.
So, it bared its fangs and claws and met Li Heng’s Cyan Blade Longsword head-on!
