Mira’s POV

Chloe spoke up immediately.

“Vivienne’s mother isn’t even your biological mother, but she’s treated you better than she treats her own daughter.Full novel: My Fake Mate Is The Hidden Alpha — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

I can’t believe you’re such an ungrateful person.

After everything she’s done for you, this is how you repay her?”

Another classmate chimed in, “Exactly.

From the moment you walked in, Vivienne has been defending you.

And what about you?

All you’ve done is make these passive-aggressive comments.”

Suddenly, Vivienne’s eyes filled with tears.

She looked at me with a fragile expression and said softly, “Everyone, please don’t blame my sister. If she gets upset because of this… I’ll just have to deal with it when we get home.”

Chloe immediately turned to her.

“Vivienne, what do you mean by that?

Are you saying Mira gives you a hard time at home?

That’s unbelievable!

You’re better than her in every way.

Your mother is the Luna of Mooncrest Pack.

What is she compared to you?”

”Oh, right.

I heard that Mira’s mother couldn’t keep her legs shut right after giving birth to her.

Cheated on Alpha and the Pack.

With a mother like that, what kind of decent person could she possibly produce?”

Chloe’s words cut like a knife, driving straight into the most painful place.

The words barely left her mouth before my hand was already in motion.

A sharp slap cracked across her face, and the entire classroom went silent.

Before she could recover, I grabbed her wrist, my nails digging into her skin.

“You heard?” My voice was ice.

“Then tell me, who exactly did you hear it from?”

Chloe clutched her face, staring at me in disbelief.

Vivienne’s expression flickered, and she took a half-step back.

I knew what she was afraid of: if Chloe dragged her into it, and my father found out she was the one spreading these old scandals, the good-girl image she’d spent years cultivating would be destroyed.

Chloe snapped out of her shock and lunged at me like a wild animal.

“You’re just like your mother, you slut! How dare you hit me! I’ll claw your face off!” Her nails raked toward my face.

I turned my head, dodged, grabbed her collar, and slapped her twice more.

She was all skin and bones—no match for me physically.

The classmates around us shouted “Stop fighting!” but not one of them actually stepped in to pull us apart.

I didn’t have time to deal with her.

Eventually the Pack Enforcers arrived.

Chloe stood there clutching her face, crying like a wronged victim.

Vivienne immediately stepped up to the Enforcer and said, “Sir, my sister and Chloe were just joking around.

I don’t understand why she’d get so violent.”

”Joking?” I wiped the scratch on my neck with a cold laugh.

Chloe had gotten in a few good swipes, the skin from my jaw to my neck stung like fire.

Chloe seized the opening to pile it on.

“Sir, she tried to kill me! She had me by the throat! Look, I still have the marks on my neck!”

The Enforcer turned to me.

“What do you have to say? You’d better come with us.”

Vivienne and Chloe exchanged a covert glance.

I knew exactly what they were thinking.

Pack Academy had strict regulations.

If I got flagged with a record at the Enforcement Squad, I could be expelled.

And once expelled, I’d have zero chance of getting into Mooncrest Jewelry Group.

I pointed to the scratches on my jaw.

“I’ll go with you, but Chloe’s coming too. She attacked me as well. Check the security footage if you don’t believe me.”

Vivienne jumped in immediately.

“That won’t be necessary! Mira, even though you’re my sister, you hit Chloe first, the whole class saw it. Are you saying you can hit someone and they’re not allowed to fight back?”

She delivered the most venomous words in the gentlest tone.

But this time I saw her clearly.

I wasn’t going to indulge her anymore.

I looked at her coldly.

“You keep calling me ‘sister’ while taking everyone else’s side. I can’t live up to that title.”

The Enforcer was all business.

“If the other party didn’t fight back, the responsibility would fall solely on you. But since she did engage, this constitutes mutual combat. Both of you are coming with us.”

At the Enforcement Squad, the Enforcer told us to call our families.

We’d need to give statements and settle the penalty before we could leave.

Chloe knew she couldn’t hide it and called her father.

I held my phone, hesitating for a long time.

I didn’t want to call Marcus.

Since the day he’d forced me to take a Mark test, I hadn’t called him “Father” once.

Lena was out of town filming, too far away to help.

In the end, I dialed Cale’s number.

The background was quiet.

He sounded composed.

“What is it?”

I opened my mouth, and my voice came out small and muffled, carrying a vulnerability I hadn’t meant to let slip.

“Cale, are you free right now? Something happened… I’m at the Enforcement Squad. Can you come pick me up?”

Two or three seconds of silence on the other end.

Then he said, “I’m on my way.”

After I hung up, I stared at the screen for a while.

He hadn’t asked a single question, not why I was at the Enforcement Squad, nothing.

Just “I’m on my way.”

I put the phone away and went back to my seat to wait.

The Enforcer was processing the statements.

When he finished, he asked us, “Do you accept mediation? If so, you apologize to each other, pay a fine, and that’s the end of it. If not, this is mutual combat, both of you have committed an offense, and both of you will be penalized.”

Chloe caved first.

“Will it go on my record?”

”If there’s a penalty, there’s a record.”

Chloe went pale.

A record would ruin her life.

She still wanted to graduate and get into Mooncrest Jewelry Group.

Bitter as it was, she gritted her teeth and said, “I… I accept mediation.”

The Enforcer turned to me.

“She has accepted mediation.

What about you?

Is it worth getting a record over something like this at your age?”

”I don’t accept.” My voice was steady.

The Enforcer frowned, clearly finding me troublesome.

I looked at Chloe and spoke each word deliberately.

“If you check the security footage, you’ll see that Chloe used vile, degrading language to insult me and my mother. Mutual combat is an offense, but is slander not an offense?”

Chloe exploded.

“How am I slandering you? Your mother did cheat on your dad! I’ve never seen a woman who’d run off with another man right after having a baby!”

I held her gaze.

“If it’s not slander, then where’s your proof? Did you see it with your own eyes, or did someone tell you?”

Chloe faltered.

She finally realized what I was doing.

I was forcing her to give up Vivienne.

Everything she’d said had come from Vivienne in private.

Otherwise, how would an outsider like her know so many details about things that had happened in Mooncrest Pack decades ago?

She panicked.

She had two options: admit she had spread a false accusation and take the punishment, or expose Vivienne and save herself.
