WEE-WOO!

Quinn held Elijah’s hand tightly.

She pulled the awkward billionaire boy toward the exit door.

Elijah’s face was completely red, but he ran as fast as his legs could move.

He could not believe he was holding hands with the most amazing girl in the world while running away from his own father’s evil guards.

“We need to find the back stairs!” Elijah yelled over the loud noise.

“The main elevators will lock down in ten seconds!”

“Lead the way, tech boy!” Quinn shouted bravely.

They ran out of the lab and turned down a long, white hallway.

But their escape was not going to be easy.

Three giant security guards stepped out from behind a corner.

They wore heavy metal armor and carried thick metal riot shields.

They also held long electric stun batons that buzzed with bright blue sparks.

[Threat Value: High]

“Stop right there, intruders!” the biggest guard roared loudly.

He hit his electric baton against his metal shield.

The blue sparks flew into the air.

Quinn let go of Elijah’s hand.

She pushed him gently behind a large metal trash can.

“Stay down and cover your head,” Quinn ordered fiercely.

Elijah nodded his head very fast.

He hid behind the trash can, but he peeked his eyes over the top.

He really wanted to watch his beautiful Solo Queen fight.

Quinn tightened her father’s heavy leather jacket over her red dress.

She cracked her knuckles.

Her Level 5 stats pumped warm energy through her muscles.

She was not scared of their metal shields at all.

“Boom!”

The ground exploded as Quinn transformed into a red and black blur.

The sharp wind shrieked loudly as she dashed forward with all her might.

The first heavy guard swung his electric baton at her head.

Quinn dropped very low to the ground and used a quick shoulder roll recovery.

She rolled smoothly under the buzzing weapon and popped back up to her feet.

She planted her sneakers firmly on the shiny floor.

She twisted her hips and threw a massive uppercut directly at the metal shield.

“Bam!”

As her fist collided with the heavy shield, a visible shockwave exploded in the air.

The loud sound resonated like thunder.

The guard felt a huge force running completely through his arm bones.

The shield broke into two pieces, and the guard flew backward down the hallway.

He crashed into a wall and was completely knocked out.

The second guard was very angry.

He charged at Quinn like a wild rhino.

He held his shield up high to block her punches.

Quinn did not punch him.

Instead, she ran three quick steps up the solid wall next to him.

She did a perfect wall run and pushed off the wall with immense strength.

She spun high in the air and delivered an amazing Aerial twist kick.

Her heavy sneaker hit the top of the guard’s helmet with a loud crack.

“Smack!”

The heavy guard fell straight to his knees.

Before he could stand back up, Quinn landed gracefully on the floor.

She performed a fast, powerful spin sweep.

Her leg smashed into his ankles, and he fell flat on his face.

He did not move again.

Now, only the last guard remained.

He looked absolutely terrified.

He dropped his electric baton and tried to run away.

Quinn did not let him escape. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.

With a sudden burst of speed, she launched her body into a high backflip.

Her heel caught the running guard perfectly in the center of his back.

The heavy backflip kick sent him flying forward into a glass window.

“Crash!” The glass broke into tiny pieces, and the guard slid to the floor in a deep sleep.

All three guards were completely defeated.

The hallway was clear.

Quinn breathed heavily.

Her skin glowed slightly with the warm System magic.

She turned around and grabbed Elijah’s arm.

“Come on, we have to go right now,” Quinn said urgently.

Elijah stared at her with giant, amazed eyes.

“You…

you just beat up three armored guards while wearing a pretty red dress.

Will you marry me?”

Quinn rolled her eyes and pulled him forward.

“Let us focus on staying alive first, Elijah.”

They ran down the stairs and reached the back door of the giant Cranston building.

Quinn kicked the door open.

They ran out into the dark, rainy alleyway.

The cold rain soaked their clothes instantly.

They ran for three blocks until they were safely hidden in the dark city streets.

The loud alarms faded away into the distance.

Quinn stopped running and leaned against a brick wall to catch her breath.

Elijah leaned next to her.

He was panting very hard, but he had a huge, silly smile on his face.

“We actually did it,” Elijah laughed breathlessly.

He pushed his wet hair out of his eyes.

“We robbed my dad’s evil company.

That was the most fun I have ever had in my entire life.”

Quinn smiled a little bit.

Elijah was very weird, but he was a good person.

“Thank you for the help today, Elijah.

But tomorrow night, I am going to the docks completely alone.

The Gamemaster is too dangerous.

I do not want you to get hurt.”

Elijah looked a little bit sad, but he nodded.

“Okay.

But if you need a fast getaway car, you know my number.

Goodnight, Solo Queen.”

Elijah walked away into the rainy night, heading back to his fancy mansion.

Quinn watched him leave to make sure he was safe.

Then, she turned around and walked toward her own cheap apartment building.

When Quinn finally reached her street, she stopped walking.

A very long, shiny black car was parked outside her apartment building.

It was Noah Brooks’s expensive car.

Noah was leaning against the front door of her building.

He wore his perfect dark red suit, but he was holding a large black umbrella to keep the rain off his hair.

He looked very angry, but he also looked very handsome.

Quinn sighed tiredly and walked up to him.

“You took a very long bathroom break, Quinn,” Noah said.

His voice was smooth, toxic, and dripping with annoyance.

“I ate your last french fry.

And then I paid a five-hundred-dollar restaurant bill for a girl who climbed out the window.”

Quinn crossed her arms and stared at him.

I guess you were just too boring, Noah.”

Noah laughed a dark, rich laugh.

He stepped closer to her and held the black umbrella over her head so the rain would stop hitting her face.

He looked closely at her wet red dress and her heavy leather jacket.

He also noticed a small, fresh scratch on her hand from the fight.

“You did not run away because you were bored,” Noah whispered.

He leaned his handsome face very close to hers.

“You ran away to do something dangerous.

You are chasing someone.

Or maybe someone is chasing you.”

“That is my business, Noah,” Quinn said coldly.

She did not back away from him.

“Go home.

You got your date.

Our deal is totally done.

Mr.

Harrison’s office is clean, and we have nothing else to talk about.”

Noah’s dark eyes flashed with intense interest.

He loved how she fought back against him.

Every other girl in school did whatever he asked, but Quinn was entirely different.

She was a puzzle he wanted to solve.

“Our deal is never done,” Noah said softly.

He reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a shiny new cell phone.

He placed the phone gently into her hand.

“This phone is fully encrypted.

Nobody can track it, not even the police.

If you get into trouble with whoever you are fighting, you call me.

I have resources you cannot even imagine.”

“I do not need your help,” Quinn said fiercely.

“Keep the phone anyway,” Noah smirked.

He stepped back into the cold rain and walked toward his fancy car.

“See you at school, Solo Queen.

Do not get yourself killed before I get my second date.”

Noah got into his shiny car and drove away into the dark night.

Quinn stood alone on the wet sidewalk.

She looked at the expensive phone in her hand, shook her head, and put it in her pocket.

The boys in this city were all completely crazy.

But she had bigger problems to worry about than toxic romance.

She walked quietly up the stairs to her small apartment.

She unlocked the door carefully.

The apartment was completely silent.

Her sick mother was still fast asleep in her room.

Quinn walked into her tiny bedroom and locked the door.

She took off her wet dress and changed into warm, dry sweatpants.

She sat on the edge of her bed and pulled her father’s secret folder from under the mattress.

“System,” Quinn whispered to the empty room.

Ding!

A bright blue screen floated into the air.

Quinn looked at her stats and smiled.

She only needed one hundred more EXP to reach Level 6.

Tomorrow night, she was going to the old city docks.

She was going to crash a secret meeting between The Gamemaster’s guards and the scary Cipher Killer.

She closed her eyes and remembered the face of Jax Vance, the underground street fighter.

She wondered if the dangerous boy with the dark hoodie would be at the docks, too.

Quinn cracked her knuckles one last time before going to sleep.

She was the Solo Queen, and tomorrow night, the bad guys were going to learn why they never should have stolen her father’s System.
