“Brother-in-law, no, don’t touch me, don’t forget your engagement with my sister.”

Qin Xiu’s mind was dazed, and the whimpering voice laced with sobs lingered in his ears. The hurried, orchid-scented breaths brushed against his face.

He rubbed his head and looked around. Beside him, a graceful and delicate woman trembled slightly. She had a dainty nose and cherry lips, her long black hair flowing like a waterfall. Her stunning features were even more alluring under light makeup, and her fair cheeks were flushed red like a ripe peach.Full novel: My Fiancée Broke Our Engagement for Her Best Friend, but I Awakened the Chaotic Divine Body — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Qin Xiu regained his focus, stunned. “Nishang?”

The beauty beside him was Yun Nishang, the half-sister of his fiancée. In theory, Yun Nishang was his future sister-in-law.

Qin Xiu was not a shameless man, but at this moment, he couldn’t suppress his burning desire. What ignited his blood even more was the helpless charm on Yun Nishang’s exquisite face, tinged with a seductive flush.

“Brother-in-law, it’s hot… so hot…”

“Nishang, get up!”

Qin Xiu gritted his teeth and forced himself to resist. He tried to jump off the bed, but found his entire body limp and powerless. He clung to his final shred of reason, but Yun Nishang, in a dazed state, reached out with a slender jade-like hand, fumbling blindly…

Their eyes met, and it wasn’t just desire blazing between them—it also stirred hidden feelings buried deep in their hearts.

Qin Xiu could no longer hold back.

A long time later, a smear of red stained the sheets.

Yun Nishang’s flushed face still lingered with redness. When she saw Qin Xiu’s firm chest drenched in both of their sweat, tears began to fall from the corners of her eyes.

“Qin Xiu, you’re shameless, you bastard!”

“How could you betray my sister like this… sob…”

Yun Nishang sobbed uncontrollably. What shamed and angered her even more was that she hadn’t resisted. She had betrayed her sister too.

Next month was supposed to be her sister and Qin Xiu’s engagement ceremony.

As the heat faded, Qin Xiu looked at the sobbing woman. In terms of looks and figure, she was even more beautiful than his fiancée. Her gentle demeanor was like the misty rain of Jiangnan, making her even more lovable.

He reached out to smooth her disheveled hair, his heart filled with guilt.

His father had once been a guest retainer in the Yun family of Lingqu City. He had arrived there while traveling with a young Qin Xiu, and had coincidentally saved the Yun family’s patriarch’s life. It was then that the engagement between Qin Xiu and the eldest daughter of the Yun family was arranged.

But seven years ago, his father mysteriously disappeared, leaving in such a hurry that he didn’t even say goodbye.

As the years passed with no word from his father, Qin Xiu gradually lost favor in the Yun family.

Qin Xiu shook his head, pushing aside the memories and guilt.

Now that he thought about it, everything felt suspicious.

“Nishang, I think we were drugged.”

The moment he said that, Yun Nishang, who had finally calmed down, began trembling again.

“Drugged? By who?!”

Her face turned scarlet as she wrapped herself tightly in the blanket, revealing only her white neck and face. Despite her embarrassment and anger, she had always trusted Qin Xiu’s character. He would never do something so reckless.

Even if he would… why had she not resisted? Why had she…

Qin Xiu frowned deeply.

Just as he was pondering, the door suddenly slammed open.

“Ah! Qin Xiu, what are you doing?!”

“You bastard, how dare you defile Nishang!”

The woman who barged in had bright eyes, red lips, and snow-white delicate features like fine porcelain. Her slim-fitting gown perfectly outlined her curvy figure, but her eyes were filled with disgust and contempt.

“Sister, I’m sorry, it’s not what you think, I’m sorry…”

Yun Nishang was so ashamed that her words were incoherent. She tried to stand and explain, but then remembered her clothes had been torn earlier.

Panicking, she buried her face in Qin Xiu’s chest, trying to hide from her sister’s gaze.

“Qin Xiu, you’re engaged to me, and you dare act like a beast to my sister!”

Yun Xuerong’s scream immediately alerted the entire Yun household. Soon, her mother, Gao Wanhua, arrived with a group of family members.

“Qin Xiu! Nishang!”

With the girls’ father absent, Gao Wanhua held full authority over the Yun family. Her face was stormy, and she shouted angrily, “Qin Xiu, you vile creature, how dare you commit such a beastly act?”

“Mother.”

Yun Xuerong stomped her feet in fury, her face burning with shame. “If word of this gets out, even if he doesn’t care about saving face, how will I survive in this world?”

Qin Xiu suddenly sensed something wrong.

The timing was too perfect.

Nishang hadn’t even put her clothes back on—yet Xuerong just happened to barge in at that moment?

He looked up sharply, his eyes cold and piercing. “Could this all have been your doing?”

Yun Xuerong’s expression flickered with a trace of panic, and Gao Wanhua’s fury exploded as she cut him off, “Qin Xiu, you worthless scum. After all these years, you still can’t cultivate, and now you do something this shameful!”

Qin Xiu clenched his fists. He wasn’t unable to cultivate.

When he was young, his father had planted a seed in his dantian, calling it a divine seed. It needed to be nourished in the dantian until his eighteenth birthday, when it would bloom with divine miracles. That would be the moment he soared.

“All these years, how many rare resources has the Yun family given you?”

Gao Wanhua continued scolding, “Even a dog could have cultivated with that much. But you? You can’t even draw in a trace of spiritual Qi.”

Qin Xiu’s fists tightened.

Those resources were bought with his father’s life—not something the Yun family gave out of kindness.

Besides, all of it had been used to nourish the divine seed.

“Now look at my daughter. She awakened the Water Radiance Spirit Body. Even the grand elder of the Xuantian Sect came personally to accept her as a disciple.”

“She’s a phoenix in the heavens, and you’re a dog by the roadside. How could you face her?”

The Yun clan members were furious.

“That’s right, even a dog knows to guard the house and wag its tail. But you? You defiled the second young lady.”

“If we had known you were such scum, we’d have fed those spirit herbs to a dog instead of you.”

Yun Xuerong arrogantly lifted her chin, her pride swelling. “Qin Xiu, I really want to stab you to death right now.”

The clan members shouted angrily, “Yes! Kill him!”

“Breaking the engagement, betrayal, defiling the second young lady… he should be cut into pieces!”

Gao Wanhua watched coldly, lips curling in satisfaction, though her voice remained filled with false grief. “Everyone, by clan rules, he should be executed by dismemberment.”

“But his father once saved the patriarch’s life. The Yun family cannot be heartless.”

Her eyes turned cold. “But if we let him go just like that, where would our dignity be?”

“Then… hand over what your father left behind and kneel to apologize to Xuerong. Perhaps then, we might spare your life.”

Qin Xiu’s pupils shrank.

If he’d still had doubts before, this moment confirmed everything.

This was all a trap set by the mother and daughter.

Not only to break the engagement but also to steal everything his father left him.

Yun Xuerong sneered, “Why are you glaring at me? You should be grateful we’re even giving you a chance to apologize.”

“Besides, what use are those spirit treasures and techniques in the hands of a cripple like you?”

She had seen a few of those items her father left behind. Whether herbs or techniques, none in Lingqu City could compare.

Even with her status as a personal disciple in the Xuantian Sect, she would never receive treasures of that caliber.

Qin Xiu’s fists trembled in fury. Such a ruthless scheme—he wasn’t even given a chance to defend himself.

After all, no one would believe Yun Xuerong had drugged both her fiancé and her sister.

“A fine mother-daughter pair… ruthless and venomous!”

Qin Xiu’s eyes were bloodshot. Today was his eighteenth birthday—the day the divine seed was to awaken.

He had wanted to surprise Yun Xuerong, but what awaited him was betrayal.

They painted him as a beast worse than a dog, stole everything from him, then pretended to show mercy by sparing his life.

Who was truly ungrateful and shameless?!

“Yun Xuerong, even if I feed those treasures to dogs, I won’t give them to you!”

Yun Xuerong’s gaze turned cold. “Still mouthing off? You’re asking for death.”

“Someone, cut off his hands and feet!”

At her order, the Yun clan members surged forward, drawing their blades.

Seeing their fury, Yun Nishang, still under the blanket, suddenly cried out,

“Stop!”

She rushed forward and spread her arms to protect Qin Xiu.

“Brother-in-law didn’t defile me.”

“I… I was willing. We both were!”

Yun Nishang tightly shut her eyes, that sentence draining all the courage from her soul.

Qin Xiu looked at her in disbelief, stunned by her delicate figure shielding him.

The clan members froze, eyes wide in shock.

“Did I hear that right? Willing?”

“Second young lady, have you been tricked? How could you possibly like that cripple?”

Ridiculous.

Although not as talented as the eldest daughter, the second young lady wasn’t far behind, and her beauty surpassed her sister’s.

What right did a useless man like Qin Xiu have to enjoy such fortune?

Even Gao Wanhua and Yun Xuerong were momentarily stunned.

They had never expected Yun Nishang to sacrifice her reputation to protect Qin Xiu.

Defilement was one thing. But saying it was consensual? She would never be able to hold her head up again, nor could she ever marry.

“Please, let Qin Xiu go.”

Yun Nishang’s face burned, but she couldn’t care about that now.

Qin Xiu was just a mortal. The wealth his father left behind was all he had to rely on for the rest of his life.

To lose everything and be cast out of the Yun family would leave him completely alone.

Yun Nishang now realized her sister had used her body to trap Qin Xiu, but in front of the Water Radiance Spirit Body, she had no power to resist.

Tears filled her eyes as she pleaded with Yun Xuerong, “Sister, I beg you, for the sake of our sisterhood, spare Qin Xiu.”

“I’ll do anything you say from now on. Please…”

Every word of her plea made Qin Xiu’s heart ache with trembling sorrow.

What he couldn’t imagine was that even with her sister crying and begging, Gao Wanhua and Yun Xuerong showed no guilt—only more vicious satisfaction.

“You slut! I thought you were defiled. Turns out you two were lovers!”

With a glance from Gao Wanhua, Yun Xuerong stepped forward, grabbed Yun Nishang by the hair, and slapped her several times without mercy. Blood spilled from her lips.

“You dared seduce a man? You shameless wench!”

Qin Xiu snapped.

“Stop it!”

Ever since his father disappeared, Yun Nishang was the only one who treated him kindly.

Now, to protect him, she was sacrificing everything—how could he let her be hurt?

Qin Xiu roared like a mad beast and threw a punch at the back of Yun Xuerong’s head.

“If you want revenge, take it on me! Don’t touch her!”

BOOM!

A dull thud echoed. Yun Xuerong merely staggered. With her 6th stage Qi Refining Realm defensive spiritual Qi, Qin Xiu’s punch was pathetically weak.

“Worthless scum, trying to die?”

BAM!

Yun Xuerong struck back with a palm, and Qin Xiu flew back violently, spitting blood. The clan members pinned him to the ground, not giving him a chance to rise.

Yun Xuerong yanked Yun Nishang’s hair and looked down at him coldly. “So, what should we do with this little slut who fornicated with you?”

The clan members hesitated, but Gao Wanhua said coldly, “By clan rules, she should suffer the punishment of bone-cracking and tendon-tearing.”

Qin Xiu howled in rage, “Let her go! Yun Xuerong, are you even human?! You’d hurt your own sister?!”

Watching him struggle helplessly on the ground, Yun Xuerong slowly walked up until her toes were nearly pressing against his forehead.

She smirked, “Let her go? Fine.”

“I’ll give you a few days to think. As long as you bring a proper apology and crawl to my feet to beg, maybe I’ll be merciful and let you both live.”

“Otherwise, in seven days, at the Yun family’s execution ground, she’ll have her bones shattered and tendons ripped out!”

With that, she flung Yun Nishang to the ground by her hair.

“Trash, remember this. All your life, you’ll only be worthy of groveling beneath me—like a dog, begging for forgiveness!”

Qin Xiu watched Yun Nishang’s gentle, beautiful face covered in blood and tears, yet she still shook her head at him.

It wasn’t regret.

She was telling him—don’t worry about me.
