The next morning, Class 1-A sat through English.Full novel: My Hero Academia: Quirk of Insight — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Now, which of the following sentences contains an error?”

“This is way too normal,” the class muttered almost in unison.

“Boring.”

Bakugo glanced back at Ren and clicked his tongue.

That bastard had vanished for the entire afternoon yesterday and never come back.

Special privileges were infuriating.

Especially when Ren was the one enjoying them.

At the front of the room, Present Mic stood with his wild blond hair swept up and his speaker gear around his neck.

Seeing the students’ complete lack of energy, he stamped a foot and shouted, “Everybody, hands up!

Show me some passion!”

As Class 1-A’s resident top student and one of the special admission students, Momo Yaoyorozu raised her hand without hesitation.

“Okay!

Yaoyorozu, come on!”

Ren rested his chin on one hand and looked at the enthusiastic teacher.

‘So tacky.’

Where had that habit of tossing random English into every other sentence even come from?

Present Mic was a Pro Hero.

Did he really feel no shame?

Ren’s gaze shifted from the podium to Yaoyorozu as she stood.

Then he yawned.

He had stayed up late reading last night to make his new ideas possible as quickly as he could.

Now the aftereffects were catching up to him.

Maybe Present Mic’s class also had something to do with it.

The man was somehow loud enough to be a lullaby.

Ren had glanced over Present Mic once and activated Insight.

His English had risen to Present Mic’s level almost immediately, so there was no real need for him to sit through the lesson.

Unfortunately, U.A.’s schedule did not care.

Morning classes were required courses.

Ren had tried to escape them, but Principal Nezu, despite happily accepting Ren’s excellent tea, had refused with shocking firmness. Get faster updates on g.com.

That smug principal.

One day, Ren would get even.

He silently swore revenge while pointing toward the direction of the principal’s office.

At the tip of his extended finger, a tiny flame bloomed.

It was not Bakugo’s Explosion.

The most obvious difference was stability.

Calling fire stable was not quite accurate, but compared with an explosion, the little flame was obedient.

Ren looked at it with satisfaction.

With a thought, the flame vanished after less than half a second.

A crystal-clear shard of ice replaced it, then changed again into a faint crackle of electricity.

All of it came from Creation, the Quirk he had learned from Yaoyorozu.

For small changes like these, with almost no material involved, Ren could even break down what he created and take the matter back into his own reserves.

Creation.

What did that word really mean?

In his previous life, Ren had thought about it more than once.

If he ever obtained Creation, he would never let his imagination be trapped by ordinary definitions.

Yaoyorozu was brilliant, but her field of vision limited her.

For a recommendation student, that was almost a waste.

Objects.

What counted as an object?

Solid things like blades, guns, and shields were obvious.

But were fire and water not matter too?

Lightning was technically energy, so creating it was trickier and required conversion, but even with some loss, it was often more efficient than producing a pile of useless tools.

And in terms of destructive force, fire, water, and electricity were far more direct than most of the objects Yaoyorozu usually made.

Most importantly, they were fast.

Enough output.

Enough variety.

Satisfaction guaranteed.

While Ren kept thinking through the development and possible applications of Creation, the morning passed quickly.

After class, he followed the flow of students toward U.A.’s cafeteria.

Each table could seat ten students at once.

Incidentally, the chef was also a hero.

Lunch Rush.

Ren badly wanted to comment on that.

In the world of My Hero Academia, was there any profession that could not become a hero?

Would the future eventually produce a Sweeping Hero or a Construction Hero?

Actually, Cementoss almost counted as a Construction Hero.

Ren forced down the urge to keep spiraling.

Carrying a tray stacked high with food, he walked toward the tables.

Whatever else could be said, U.A.’s food was famously good and not expensive.

As he moved with the crowd, he spotted Yaoyorozu sitting alone at one table, eating in small, careful bites.

“A young lady really is a young lady,” Ren murmured.

“She has no idea how to approach people.”

Then he put on a friendly smile and walked over.

“Hey, Yaoyorozu.

Convenient timing.

Mind if I sit here?”

“Eh?”

She looked up in surprise when someone called her name.

All she saw at first was the tower of meat on Ren’s tray blocking most of him from view.

“Ah…

of course.

Please, go ahead.”
