Solomon went to his room after training with his sister to get a change of clothes.
He took a bath and returned to the comfort of his bed.
For him, the bedroom was a place where he could be real, be himself, and be at peace.
He had often spent hours—even days—as Ethan locked away in his room, either reading a novel, a book, or playing games.
It was a pastime he always looked forward to.
He opened the system interface once he was comfortably snuggled beneath his covers.
The thing he had seen earlier after his sister left resurfaced in his mind, and he wanted to know what it was.
He checked his notifications but couldn’t find it, so he decided to check his stats instead.

He scrolled from top to bottom, yet he couldn’t find what he was looking for.
At least he had discovered something else.
“Desire Energy…” he muttered.
He had thought it was useless and had been genuinely annoyed by the fact that he needed to make men admire him, but now he was beginning to realize it had its own usefulness.
Although he still wasn’t sure whether he wanted to bring true world peace, he knew he was ready for a wild adventure where he could see the world through fresh eyes instead of those of an adult who spent all day staring at words.
Later that evening, he knocked on his sister’s bedroom door.
“Yes?”
“It’s me, Silvia.”
“Come in.”
Solomon found his sister lying on her bed with a book held above her face.
She wore reading glasses, and her long black hair was sprawled across the bed like a protective sheet around her body.
“How do you maintain your hair?” he asked curiously.
“I have a skill called Perfect Hair Day,” she replied.
“Even if I let my hair grow as long as Rapunzel’s, it would still look good.”
She sat up and flipped it.
Then she ran her hand through it.
Even though it looked messy for a few seconds, it returned to normal on its own. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.
“What is this broken skill?” Solomon blurted out, clearly dumbfounded.
“I…
already…
told you.”
She held her stomach as she laughed, clearly amused by the expression he had made after her unique revelation.
Seconds later, she sat up straight once more and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
“Did you want something?”
“Ah, yes.
I wanted to take a walk with you.”
His sister quietly removed her glasses and placed them on the bedside drawer.
She rose from the bed slowly, her white dress flowing gracefully as it settled around her.
She looked like an angel from another world, which was a strange contrast to her identity as a knight.
She somehow pulled off both elegance and an athletic physique with ease.
He wondered whether the goddess governing the world simply favored women too much.
His sister stopped right in front of him and looked him straight in the eyes.
“What happened to you?”
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“After training, you would either lock yourself away in your room or disappear into the library until dinner, when Mother insisted we all eat together as a family.”
“What kind of book-obsessed…” he paused.
He suddenly felt a strong sense of déjà vu, because that was exactly how he had behaved as Ethan as well.
He couldn’t help but sigh.
He and Solomon were probably two peas in a pod.
But now, he wanted to experience the world he had only ever explored through books.
So he had already begun drifting away from the original Solomon’s way of living.
“Well?
Finish what you were saying,” his sister said, resting her hands on her hips as she leaned toward him slightly.
“You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you.”
“Try me.”
“There was a loud crash…
and my life changed.”
“What do you mean?”
“Even I would like to know.”
He sighed and shook his head.
He walked toward the door without turning back, leaving his sister looking as though she wanted to dissect him.
“I’ll be waiting outside.”
He opened the door and closed it gently behind him.
The soft click echoed through the hallway, sounding strangely comforting to him.
Not long afterward, his sister stepped out wearing a jet-black gown that perfectly matched the color of her hair.
“You like gowns.”
The words came out as a statement instead of the question he had intended.
“Yes.” She twirled around once. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.
“I don’t get to wear them much outside the estate.”
“Okay…
so she isn’t broken.”
He still didn’t understand how she knew what she loved yet couldn’t remember her own dream.
It was a truly confusing concept.
The world itself was confusing.
Men served women.
Everything felt twisted in ways he still couldn’t understand.
“True world peace, huh…” he muttered.
“Hmm?”
“Nothing.”
As they walked through the halls and corridors, he listened to stories of their childhood.
Somehow, he felt himself growing closer to the real Solomon Ashbourne.
He laughed when she spoke of the fun times they had shared, and his heart ached when she described her loneliness whenever he locked himself away.
It made him wonder whether that was how his best friend had felt every time he pleaded with him to hang out, only for Ethan to bring a book along and read it while sipping the coffee he had ordered.
After visiting every place that held a unique memory, they finally went outside and sat down on the steps leading up to the mansion.
Together, they stared at the sky and the fading orange sun as it slowly disappeared behind the distant mountains.
When the sun finally set, his sister rose to her feet.
“I’m going to bed.”
“Why?”
“This whole situation doesn’t feel real,” she said in a monotone voice.
Solomon was taken aback.
The next second, her voice returned to normal.
“Tomorrow…
you’ll spar with mana.”
She smiled confidently.
“If you survive…
I’ll teach you the Ashbourne family’s signature Light Magic.”
Solomon didn’t even perk up.
He simply watched her walk away.
She was only nineteen, and yet she had suddenly felt so far away.
Solomon wondered why she carried such enormous expectations on her shoulders without ever complaining.
For the first time…
Solomon wondered whether she had chosen this life…
or whether it had chosen her.

Solomon finally reached a decision.
He would fix this world—not for everyone’s sake, but for the sake of Solomon Ashbourne, who was no longer here to shoulder his sister’s burdens.
