"What is it now?" Chu Feng turned his head and looked at Su Miaoke.
"Time for bed!" Su Miaoke said coldly.
"Bed? Then you should go to bed. Why are you calling me? I have to go back." Chu Feng blinked, feigning ignorance.
With that, Chu Feng turned and started walking away again.
Chu Feng’s behavior made Su Miaoke stomp her foot in anger.
"You just try and leave! Believe it or not, I’ll make sure you don’t see the sun tomorrow!" Su Miaoke pointed at Chu Feng and said furiously.
"Oh, my dear Young Madam, what more do you want from me?" Chu Feng said, his face a mask of bitter impatience. His mind was currently preoccupied with the Qi Cultivation Technique.
"I... I’m scared by myself. Can you stay with me...?" Su Miaoke looked at Chu Feng, appearing utterly pitiful.
Seeing this usually high-and-mighty, ice-cold CEO now looking so vulnerable, Chu Feng was momentarily stunned.
Looking into Su Miaoke’s pleading eyes, Chu Feng’s heart softened in the end. He sighed helplessly, "Alright, but just for tonight!"
When Su Miaoke saw that Chu Feng had agreed, a happy expression immediately bloomed on her face. She quickly ran over and took his arm.
"Then let’s go," Su Miaoke said excitedly.
Chu Feng pressed a hand to his forehead, exasperated. ’I really can’t do anything about myself. Everything else is fine, but my heart is just too soft. I can’t stand seeing a woman look so pitiful.’
After they went upstairs, Chu Feng said to Su Miaoke, "You sleep on the bed. I’ll sleep on the floor."
However, Su Miaoke glanced at him and said, "You didn’t say that when you slept with me before."
Her words immediately left Chu Feng speechless.
He stammered for a good while before finally managing to say, "I don’t even know what happened that day..."
At the mention of it, Su Miaoke’s face instantly turned red.
"I’m going to take a shower first." Su Miaoke walked into the bathroom.
Half an hour later, Su Miaoke emerged, wrapped in a bathrobe.
Her hair was still damp, and two rosy flushes appeared on her exquisite, beautiful face.
"Do you want to go wash up too?" Su Miaoke blinked, looking at Chu Feng.
At that moment, looking at the woman before him, Chu Feng froze.
His gaze grew heated, and his mouth suddenly felt dry.
"I... I’ll go..." Chu Feng beat a hasty retreat into the bathroom.
When he came out, Su Miaoke was already lying in bed, sleeping soundly.
Chu Feng had planned to make do on the sofa for the night, but suddenly Su Miaoke said timidly, "Come up here. I’m scared..."
Hearing this, Chu Feng looked up to the heavens and let out a soft sigh.
Helpless, Chu Feng got into bed and slipped under the covers.
After he got in, the first thing Su Miaoke asked was, "Are you going back home for the New Year?"
Chu Feng answered, "I don’t know."
Su Miaoke asked, "Well, do you want to go back?"
Chu Feng answered, "I do, but I don’t have the money. I don’t have the courage or the face to go back."
Su Miaoke replied, "Didn’t my mom give you a million?"
Chu Feng: "..."
He fell silent.
After a long pause, he finally spoke. "I’m a proud man. I can’t just live off a woman..."
Su Miaoke said, "But you accepted it."
Chu Feng: "..."
"Chu Feng, can you hold me? I’m a little cold," Su Miaoke said, her voice trembling.
"Stop messing around. You just got out of the shower not long ago. How could you be cold?" Chu Feng didn’t believe her at all.
But then he suddenly felt something was wrong. He could feel Su Miaoke trembling slightly under the covers.
"Are you really cold?" Chu Feng asked with a frown.
Su Miaoke didn’t answer. After a moment, her teeth chattering, she managed, "Mhm..."
Chu Feng immediately moved closer and touched Su Miaoke’s forehead.
"It’s burning up! You have a fever?" Chu Feng exclaimed in surprise.
He hadn’t expected Su Miaoke to actually have a fever.
"Hold... hold me, okay...?" Su Miaoke said, her jaw trembling.
Seeing this, Chu Feng didn’t hesitate to pull Su Miaoke into his arms.
The searing heat from her body instantly made Chu Feng frown.
’She really has a fever.’
’What am I going to do?’
"Do you have any medicine here?" Chu Feng asked urgently.
But Su Miaoke just shook her head, pressing it closer to Chu Feng’s chest.
"I’ll take you to the hospital." Saying that, Chu Feng started to get up.
But Su Miaoke held onto him tightly, unwilling to let him go. She trembled as she said, "Don’t... don’t leave me."
This put Chu Feng in a difficult position. He was completely at a loss.
His heart was too soft. Seeing Su Miaoke like this, he was damned if he did and damned if he didn’t.
Suddenly, something occurred to him.
"The Qi Cultivation Technique!" Chu Feng suddenly exclaimed, his eyes lighting up.
In her daze, Su Miaoke heard Chu Feng’s exclamation but couldn’t make out what he was saying.
"What?" Su Miaoke asked weakly.
"It’s nothing, don’t worry. You’ll be better soon, I promise," Chu Feng said with full confidence.
He began to search his memory. There was a section in the Qi Cultivation Technique about this.
He could use the True Qi he had cultivated and transfer it into Su Miaoke’s body to help her expel the coldness within.
Chu Feng placed his hands on Su Miaoke’s back, which was incredibly smooth and silky.
The next moment, Chu Feng guided the few wisps of True Qi he had in his body through his meridians, gathering them in his palms before finally channeling them into Su Miaoke.
As the True Qi flowed into her, Su Miaoke let out a soft moan.
Then, she murmured, "So hot..."
And just like that, the night passed quickly.
「In the blink of an eye, it was the next morning.」
Chu Feng had only just fallen asleep when Su Miaoke’s beautiful eyes fluttered open.
The first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was a broad, solid chest, accompanied by the sound of a powerful, beating heart.
The sight made Su Miaoke blush instantly. She was lying in Chu Feng’s arms.
Then she remembered what had happened last night, which made her face flush an even deeper shade of red.
In Su Miaoke’s memory, when she had been suffering from the fever, she had been leaning against Chu Feng’s chest...
Su Miaoke covered her burning cheeks and then, like a slippery little loach, wriggled out of Chu Feng’s embrace.
She quietly got out of bed and tiptoed to the kitchen.
Not long after, the sleeping Chu Feng was awakened by a fragrant aroma.
"Smells good," he murmured, opening his eyes.
"You’re awake? Come have breakfast." Just then, Su Miaoke walked to the dining table, carrying two plates.
"You’re... all better?" Chu Feng asked in surprise, seeing a perfectly fine Su Miaoke.
Although he knew the True Qi from practicing the Qi Cultivation Technique was miraculous, he hadn’t expected it to be so effective at curing illnesses.
"I’m fine. What’s wrong? Is there a problem?" Su Miaoke looked confused.
Chu Feng quickly shook his head. "No... nothing."
"Let’s eat breakfast first. After we’re done, I’ll take you to buy some new clothes," Su Miaoke said.
