"You know, I suddenly think you’re quite handsome!" Su Miaoke said, blinking.
Her words made Chu Feng freeze. For a moment, he didn’t know how to respond.
"Uh..."
"Are you just realizing that now?" Chu Feng asked.
Su Miaoke rolled her eyes. "I give you a few compliments, and you’re already letting it go to your head."
"Come on, I’ll take you to buy some clothes." Su Miaoke took Chu Feng’s arm and led him toward a shop.
The shop’s decor was incredibly lavish. It was clearly a high-end luxury store.
"Hello, and welcome to the Zegna flagship store," a young woman in a business suit said politely to Chu Feng and Su Miaoke from the entrance.
However, when she saw what Chu Feng was wearing, her brow furrowed slightly. She pursed her lips and mumbled under her breath.
"That man is dressed so shabbily, while the woman is covered in brand names... though they’re probably just knockoffs. He must be pretending to be a big shot, and she’s a gold digger!"
"What do you think of this one? Go try it on," Su Miaoke said, pulling Chu Feng over to the men’s section and holding up a suit.
Chu Feng looked at the suit and nodded. "Looks okay."
But when Chu Feng glanced at the price tag, his eyes went wide and his jaw dropped.
"Holy shit, this one jacket is over twenty thousand? They might as well just rob people! This is too damn expensive. I thought it’d be a few hundred at most. Let’s just go," Chu Feng exclaimed, completely floored by the price.
He immediately tried to pull Su Miaoke away.
Just then, a young sales associate in a uniform walked over. She was reasonably attractive, but her words were venomous.
"Can’t afford it? If you can’t, the door’s that way. Even our cheapest items are around this price. Don’t touch things you can’t afford. What if you damage it? Could you even pay for it, you hick!"
"What did you say?" Chu Feng’s expression darkened instantly upon hearing the sales associate’s words.
’I was just being honest, and this is how I’m treated?’
"Are you deaf? I said get the hell out if you can’t afford it! Don’t get this place dirty!"
Hearing this, Chu Feng retorted angrily, "So I can’t afford it. Can you? You sell clothes this expensive, but people aren’t allowed to say so? What’s with you, looking down on people?"
Su Miaoke glared at the sales associate, her brows knitted in anger.
"Get your manager," Su Miaoke said coldly. She was furious.
As the chairman of a company worth a billion yuan, she had seen all sorts of situations. She never expected to be so arrogantly ridiculed by a mere sales associate.
"Heh, you think you can see our manager just because you ask? Who the hell do you think you are? I can tell you’re just a shameless gold digger. What, trying to land a rich guy? You should at least open your damn eyes before you try. Finding a broke-ass loser who’s just pretending... you two really are a perfect match. Birds of a feather flock together."
"If you want to show off, don’t do it in my store! Put those clothes down, now! If you damage them, you couldn’t afford it even if we sold you! You two hicks!"
The young sales associate across from them launched into a vicious tirade, verbally tearing Chu Feng and Su Miaoke to shreds.
This left Chu Feng and Su Miaoke practically seething with rage.
"You—!" Just as Su Miaoke was about to speak, a mocking sneer echoed from outside the store.
"Well, well, if it isn’t Chu Feng. What’s this? Getting kicked out because you can’t afford the clothes?"
Everyone turned to look, just in time to see a portly man walking into the store with an exceptionally glamorous woman on his arm.
"Liu Hui!" The moment Chu Feng saw him, a surge of anger flared up inside him.
Su Miaoke’s delicate brows furrowed in disdain; she despised the fat man.
Of course, the anger was mutual; Liu Hui and the glamorous woman were just as furious to see Chu Feng and Su Miaoke.
As the two pairs glared daggers at each other, the snarky sales associate’s face suddenly broke into a fawning smile.
"Oh, President Liu! What a pleasant surprise! If you’d told us you were coming, I would have had someone greet you at the door."
The snarky sales associate then scurried over to Liu Hui, her expression one of utter subservience.
"I’m helping my darling pick out a few outfits. What are these two hicks doing here?" Liu Hui basked in the sales associate’s flattery, his face a mask of arrogance as he gestured toward Chu Feng.
"President Liu, don’t even get me started. Now that you mention it, I’m getting all worked up. These hicks waltzed in here this morning, treating our clothes like they’re from some street market. They even said our stuff should only cost a few hundred."
The snide sales associate shot a look at Chu Feng and Su Miaoke, rolling her eyes dramatically.
"So that’s how it is." Liu Hui broke into a smug grin after hearing her explanation.
"That kid? He used to work for me. Made a grand total of thirty-five hundred a month. Forget about buying a whole suit from you—he couldn’t even afford one of the pockets," Liu Hui said mockingly.
Just then, the glamorous woman beside Liu Hui chimed in. "Does this store just let any riffraff in? It really lowers the tone, don’t you think? I don’t think I’ll be coming back."
The woman’s face was a mask of disgust, and the look she gave Chu Feng and Su Miaoke was murderous.
"Xiao Li, your service here is lacking," Liu Hui said, pointedly glancing at the snide associate.
"Yes, yes! You’re absolutely right, President Liu. We’ll have these two thrown out immediately," the snide sales associate said, nodding and bowing obsequiously.
With that, the snide associate immediately pulled out her walkie-talkie.
"Security! Security! Get up to the second floor, quick! We have troublemakers in the store!"
A moment later, two burly security guards rushed into the store.
"It’s them! Get them out of here, now!" the snide sales associate yelled.
Chu Feng’s expression was now as dark as it could be. These people had really gone too far.
The two guards glanced at Chu Feng and immediately reached out to grab him, intending to throw him out.
But just then, Chu Feng’s voice was icy. "Lay one finger on me and you’ll regret it!"
But the two guards paid him no mind, completely ignoring his warning.
"Stop!" Su Miaoke shouted, but again, no one paid her any attention.
Liu Hui and the glamorous woman watched the drama unfold from the sidelines, waiting to see Chu Feng get pinned to the ground and tossed out.
The snide sales associate was doing the same, a mocking smile on her face.
"You asked for this!" Chu Feng had finally had enough.
’It’s true what they say: a kind man is always bullied, just as a gentle horse is always ridden.’
’They mistook a tiger for a sick little cat.’
BAM! BAM!
Chu Feng lunged forward, throwing two swift punches.
The two security guards were sent flying out of the store on impact.
The sneer on Liu Hui’s face, who had been enjoying the show, instantly froze.
