“Come on, Pidgeotto.”

After putting on his equipment, Zhang Tian headed outside with Pidgeotto.

As for Tobi-Kadachi and the others, they were naturally resting and recovering inside their Poké Balls.Full novel: My Pokémon Are Monster Hunter Monsters?! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

” Hinoa, I’m here to accept a quest.

Do you have any hunting quests for Tetranadon?”

After sitting down in front of Hinoa, Zhang Tian asked.

The reason Zhang Tian wanted to hunt a Tetranadon was simple.

Among Elite-Class monsters, Tetranadon had an especially large amount of meat.

Tetranadon stood approximately 4.7 meters tall and was around nine meters long, with a body width of roughly five meters.

Although it wasn’t as long as Tobi-Kadachi and the other large monsters, it was far broader.

It was a genuine “fat monster.”

Zhang Tian estimated that a Tetranadon’s body would provide two or three times as much meat as a Great Girros—or perhaps even more.

“Tetranadon?”

“Let me check.”

Hinoa began flipping through the Guild’s available quests.

Before long, she pulled out a quest sheet.

“Your luck is pretty good. We have a Tetranadon hunting quest.”

Hinoa handed the quest sheet to Zhang Tian.

Zhang Tian took it and read through the details.

Hunting Target: Tetranadon

Quest Reward: 5,040 Zenny

Time Limit: Within ten days

Quest Description:

There have been too many Tetranadons appearing in the Shrine Ruins.

Hunters are needed to keep their population under control.

“I’ll take it.”

After reading the description, Zhang Tian accepted the quest.

“All right.”

Hinoa nodded and officially registered the quest for him.

“Although there aren’t as many powerful monsters in the Shrine Ruins as in some other regions, Magnamalo does occasionally appear there.”

“Be careful.”

There was genuine concern in Hinoa’s voice as she warned him.

“Don’t worry, Hinoa. I have ways to protect myself.”

“Even if I encountered an Elder Dragon, I could escape easily.”

Zhang Tian chuckled confidently.

Being able to travel between worlds at any moment was his greatest trump card and his ultimate means of survival.

“By the way, have you still not found a Palamute and Palico for yourself?”

Hinoa noticed that Zhang Tian didn’t have either a Palamute or a Palico beside him and asked curiously.

“Instructor Utsushi said that finding high-quality Palamutes and Palicoes isn’t easy.”

“He’ll keep an eye out for me. If he finds an especially good Palamute or Palico, he’ll let me know.”

Zhang Tian shrugged with a smile.

“I see.”

Hinoa nodded in understanding.

“Zhang Tian, do you have any more of those game consoles you gave Minoto?”

Hinoa asked somewhat hesitantly.

“A game console?”

Zhang Tian’s eyes shifted slightly before he smiled.

“Hinoa, I didn’t realize you liked games too.”

“How about this? Once I return from the hunt, I’ll get a game console for you.”

Two days earlier, Zhang Tian had given his own game console to Minoto.

Naturally, it was to win the favor of the beautiful sisters.

Hinoa and Minoto were both incredibly attractive.

If he could eventually win one of them over as his girlfriend, that would certainly be a wonderful thing.

“All right.”

Hinoa’s cheeks turned slightly red.

“But what do you like? I’d like to give you a gift in return.”

It was the first time she had ever taken the initiative to ask a man for a gift.

Even someone as outgoing and cheerful as Hinoa couldn’t help blushing.

“How about this?”

Zhang Tian thought for a moment before answering.

“When I come back, take me out for a meal.”

As the saying went, the first step toward pursuing a girlfriend was having a meal together.

“Sure.”

“When you come back, I’ll treat you to the best food in Kamura Village.”

Hinoa nodded.

“Then I’ll see you later.”

Zhang Tian waved before getting up and leaving.

After leaving Kamura Village, Zhang Tian released Tobi-Kadachi.

Tobi-Kadachi was the fastest of his monsters, so traveling on its back would save the most time.

Shrine Ruins

Zhang Tian soon arrived beside a river in the Shrine Ruins while riding Tobi-Kadachi.

“According to Kamura Village’s intelligence, Tetranadons frequently appear around here.”

“I’ll use the drone to search the surrounding area.”

After examining his surroundings, Zhang Tian took out his drone and began operating it.

In reality, having Pidgeotto conduct the reconnaissance would have been the better option.

However, Zhang Tian was worried that Pidgeotto might encounter something dangerous.

For example, if it ran into a Rathian, things could become troublesome.

A drone was safer.

Even if it was destroyed, Zhang Tian wouldn’t feel particularly bad about losing it.

Bzzzz!

The drone rose into the air.

Under Zhang Tian’s control, it began scanning the surrounding area.

“Found it. I’m lucky.”

A few minutes later, Zhang Tian spotted the Tetranadon.

It was on the other side of the river, currently eating.

“Tobi-Kadachi, Great Izuchi, use Agility.”

Zhang Tian released Great Izuchi before ordering Tobi-Kadachi and Great Izuchi to use Agility three times each.

“Let’s go.”

Zhang Tian jumped onto Great Izuchi’s back.

With a wave of his hand, he rode Great Izuchi toward the Tetranadon’s location, with Tobi-Kadachi following alongside them.

As for Arzuros, its short legs made it painfully slow.

Zhang Tian had no intention of releasing that sluggish fellow.

As far as he was concerned, Arzuros would be better suited for Pokémon battles later on.

Before long, Zhang Tian spotted the Tetranadon.

“Roar!”

Without waiting for Zhang Tian to give an order, Tobi-Kadachi immediately activated Charged State and used Quick Attack, pouncing toward the Tetranadon.

This was precisely why Zhang Tian had chosen to ride Great Izuchi.

When Tobi-Kadachi entered Charged State, its fur hardened into something resembling countless metal needles.

And those needles were electrically charged.

If Zhang Tian were sitting on its back under those circumstances, he’d practically be asking to get himself killed.

Whoosh!

Tobi-Kadachi flashed forward like a shadow, appearing directly in front of the Tetranadon.

Tobi-Kadachi’s Speed Base Stat was an incredible 160, surpassing that of most Pokémon.

While in Charged State, all of Tobi-Kadachi’s moves became Electric-type.

Therefore, when it used Quick Attack, its Thunderous Speed Ability was activated, doubling its Speed.

In the game, Quick Attack was a priority move.

Even if the user’s Speed was lower than its opponent’s, it could still strike first.

In the real world, however, Zhang Tian had designed the move’s effect differently.

Here, Quick Attack doubled Tobi-Kadachi’s Speed.

Then, after stacking Agility three times, its Speed increased by another fourfold.

At that moment, Tobi-Kadachi’s Speed was sixteen times higher than normal.

It was terrifying.

This was the frightening aspect of monsters being converted into Pokémon.

Their powerful moves and Abilities could push them far beyond their original limits.

Zzzzt!

Its electrically charged claws slashed across the Tetranadon’s body.

The attack landed instantly.

The Tetranadon hadn’t even realized it had been attacked before Tobi-Kadachi struck again.

Tobi-Kadachi leaped into the air and appeared above the Tetranadon’s head.

“Aerial Tail Slam!”

Tobi-Kadachi’s enormous tail, resembling a massive mace, came crashing down.

BOOM!

The tail smashed directly into the Tetranadon’s head, knocking the massive monster onto the ground.

Only then did the Tetranadon realize that it had been attacked.

Tobi-Kadachi had simply been too fast.

It had already attacked twice before the Tetranadon could even react to the first blow.

That was the terrifying aspect of Tobi-Kadachi.

It was an assassin whose Speed had reached an absurd level.

“ROAR!”

The fallen Tetranadon instinctively tried to get back onto its feet.

Unfortunately for it, Tobi-Kadachi gave it no opportunity.

“Claw Swipe!”

Tobi-Kadachi slashed across the Tetranadon’s belly, tearing open its abdomen and ripping out a large mass of internal organs.

“ROAR!”

The Tetranadon opened its mouth and spat a ball of water toward Tobi-Kadachi.

Although it couldn’t see properly, it could sense that it was under attack.

All it needed to do was attack in the direction from which the assault had come.

Whoosh!

Tobi-Kadachi easily dodged the water projectile.

Then it struck again with Claw Swipe.

Its electrically charged claws pierced directly into the Tetranadon’s existing wound.

The claws drove upward, piercing straight through the monster’s heart.

Zzzzt!

Tobi-Kadachi ripped out the shattered heart with its electrically charged claws.

THUD!

The Tetranadon collapsed lifelessly to the ground.
