The cashier smiled at Zhang Tian.

Zhang Tian took out his Pokédex and scanned it.

The payment went through immediately.

With the black Space Backpack on his back, Zhang Tian strode out of the Pokémon Center.

“What should I do next?”

“Challenge the eight Gyms, defeat the Elite Four, and finally battle the Champion.”

Zhang Tian thought about the process of becoming a Champion.

In Daxia, anyone who wanted to become a Champion first had to challenge eight Gyms and obtain all eight Badges.

After that, they had to challenge the Elite Four.

Once they defeated the Elite Four, they could challenge the current Champion.

Only after defeating the reigning Champion could a Trainer become the new Champion.

In other words, the Champions of each country were generally the strongest Trainers in their respective countries.

As for challenging Gyms, a person had to either be a Traveling Trainer or a graduate of a Pokémon university.

That was why Zhang Tian wanted to become a Traveling Trainer.

Aside from the various benefits, he simply didn’t want to waste four years waiting until university graduation before challenging Gyms and the Elite Four.

“As for challenging a Gym, there’s no need to rush.”

“I should develop for a while first.”

“After all, Gym battles are generally 3-on-3. Right now, Pidgeot is the only Pokémon I can safely use, so I can’t win.”

“As for Blood Orange Bishaten and the others, I can’t expose them until they reach Quasi-Champion strength.”

“There’s no shortage of bad people in this world either.”

After deciding what to do next, Zhang Tian promptly rode Pidgeot back to his countryside home.

“Travel!”

Monster Hunter world.

Zhang Tian arrived.

“Come out, everyone.”

Zhang Tian raised his hand and released all of his Pokémon, including Blood Orange Bishaten and the others.

After playing with Fuecoco, Ralts, Gastly, and Growlithe for a while and getting them accustomed to one another, Zhang Tian replaced all their Poké Balls with Luxury Balls.

Compared with ordinary Poké Balls, Luxury Balls were much more comfortable to live in.

He hadn’t had money before, so he could only use ordinary Poké Balls.

Now that he had money, naturally, he wasn’t going to treat his Pokémon poorly.

“Training, training. Develop quietly and don’t take unnecessary risks.”

Zhang Tian took out his notebook and began arranging training plans for Gastly, Fuecoco, and the others.

…

Twelve days passed in the blink of an eye.

The Tetranadon meat was almost completely gone.

After twelve days of training, Zhang Tian, Pidgeot, Great Izuchi, and Vigorwasp had all reached Level 40, officially entering Gym Leader Class.

Arzuros and Tobi-Kadachi had each gained one level, reaching Level 41.

Blood Orange Bishaten had also gained one level, reaching Level 48.

Skeledirge, Gardevoir, Gengar, and Arcanine were all Level 36 and had evolved into their final forms.

In the games, Haunter had to be traded with another player to evolve into Gengar.

In the real world, however, that wasn’t necessary.

As long as it reached Level 30, Haunter could evolve into Gengar naturally.

“We’re out of meat. Time to go hunting.”

“And I might as well earn some Zenny while I’m at it.”

Zhang Tian walked out of the kitchen and headed to the Guild Office.

“Good morning, Hinoa.”

Zhang Tian sat down in front of Hinoa and waved with a smile.

“It took you long enough to finally leave your house.”

Hinoa looked at him with a slightly resentful expression.

“Zhang Tian, what about those delicious specialties from your hometown you promised me?”

“I didn’t forget.”

Zhang Tian chuckled.

“I’ve been working on them these past dozen days. I wasn’t just training.”

He took a large piece of meat smoked until it was nearly black out of his backpack, along with a large bundle of sausages.

“These are specialties from my hometown—cured meat and sausages.”

“I made them myself using Tetranadon meat.”

“When you take them home, wash them thoroughly and steam them. They’re delicious without needing any seasoning.”

Zhang Tian pointed at the bags of cured meat and sausages on the table with a smile.

“I’m sorry. I was wrong to blame you.”

Hinoa’s face turned slightly red as she looked at Zhang Tian somewhat sheepishly.

“It’s fine.”

“Just give me a kiss.”

Zhang Tian raised his eyebrows mischievously.

“Then close your eyes.”

Hinoa’s face flushed as she spoke, looking extremely embarrassed.

“You’re really agreeing?”

Zhang Tian stared at Hinoa in disbelief.

He had only been joking, teasing her a little.

He hadn’t expected her to actually agree.

“Hurry up and close your eyes.”

Hinoa urged him on.

“All right, all right.”

Zhang Tian chuckled and closed his eyes.

The instant Zhang Tian closed his eyes, he felt something cool touch his left cheek.

“Hinoa…”

Zhang Tian opened his eyes and looked at Hinoa with a gentle expression.

“What is it?”

Seeing Zhang Tian looking at her, Hinoa’s face became even redder.

“You’re really wonderful.”

Zhang Tian chuckled.

He suddenly remembered his experiences with girls before he transmigrated.

Back then, some girls he had pursued had simply been stringing him along.

They were happy to accept everything he gave them, but never offered anything in return.

That experience had left a particularly bad taste in his mouth.

Compared with those girls, Hinoa was incomparably better.

As the saying went, if I take one step toward you and you take one step toward me, that’s what real love should be like.

“All right. I’ll accept your hometown specialties.”

“You definitely came to see me because you need something. What is it?”

“I want to take a hunting quest.”

“As for the difficulty… something around the same level as the Blood Orange Bishaten should be fine.”

Zhang Tian narrowed his eyes and smiled.

“Right now, the only quest available at that level is a Rathian quest.”

Hinoa flipped through the Guild’s quest sheets before answering softly.

“Rathian is fine too.”

Zhang Tian nodded indifferently.

He had already reached Gym Leader Class.

The Rathian that had once seemed impossibly powerful to him was no longer nearly as frightening.

“All right.”

Hinoa raised her hand and handed him a quest sheet.

Quest: Hunt the Queen of the Land, Rathian

Quest Reward: 10,500 Zenny

Time Limit: Within 10 days

“See you later, Hinoa.”

Zhang Tian waved before getting up and leaving.

…

Shrine Ruins

Zhang Tian arrived riding Pidgeot.

Unlike the extreme caution he had shown when he first came here, Zhang Tian could now afford to be much bolder.

“The Rathian is somewhere ahead. Pidgeot, be careful.”

After checking the map, Zhang Tian reminded Pidgeot.

“Caw.”

Pidgeot nodded lightly.

By now, Pidgeot had stacked Agility three times and was moving at incredible speed.

Whoosh!

Zhang Tian arrived above the bamboo grove where he had once been attacked by a Rathian.

“Roar!”

A Rathian suddenly roared and flew out of the bamboo grove.

It opened its mouth and spat a huge fireball toward Zhang Tian and Pidgeot.

“This is the Rathian that attacked me back then!”

Zhang Tian immediately recognized it.

It was the exact same Rathian that had attacked him in the past.

Rathian

Level: 46 (Gym Leader Class)

“Caw!”

Pidgeot twisted its body and narrowly dodged the fireball.

It immediately used Quick Attack, shooting forward like a gray arrow.

Bang!

Pidgeot slammed directly into Rathian’s wing.

A sharp crack rang out.

Pidgeot’s two powerful talons instantly snapped the base of Rathian’s wing.

“ROAR!”

Rathian let out a pained cry and began falling toward the ground.

With its wing badly injured, it could no longer remain airborne.
