Seeing that Zhang Tian was unharmed, Pidgeotto happily cried out.
After playing with Pidgeotto for a while, Zhang Tian began rummaging through his supplies.
His drone had been destroyed, so he needed to prepare another one.

An hour later, Zhang Tian once again appeared in the bamboo forest of the Shrine Ruins.

Zhang Tian climbed out of the crater and carefully surveyed his surroundings.
There wasn’t a single monster in sight.
“I hope Rathian isn’t still here. Otherwise, I’ll have to run again.”
With that thought, Zhang Tian took out another drone and began operating it.
Pidgeotto remained perched on his shoulder, carefully watching their surroundings and acting as a lookout.
If it noticed any danger, it would immediately warn Zhang Tian.

The drone took off and climbed into the sky.
This time, Zhang Tian didn’t encounter Rathian.
His luck was pretty good.
The drone began surveying the surrounding area.
Thanks to its high-magnification camera, Zhang Tian could easily observe places that were far away.
“Monsters fighting over territory? Interesting.”
Zhang Tian stared at the screen.
Beside a small stream, two monsters were fighting.
They were a Great Girros and a Tobi-Kadachi.
Tobi-Kadachi was somewhat stronger than Great Girros.

“I remember that in Monster Hunter, Tobi-Kadachi has a higher ecological position than Great Girros.”
“Even with more than a dozen Girros helping it, Great Girros definitely won’t be able to defeat Tobi-Kadachi.”
“I need to hurry. Great Girros won’t last much longer before it runs away.”
After spending several minutes observing the situation, Zhang Tian recalled the drone and summoned Great Izuchi.
“Great Izuchi, use Agility while we’re traveling.”
“Keep using Agility until you’ve reached the maximum boost.”
Zhang Tian climbed onto Great Izuchi’s back and gave the command.

Great Izuchi nodded slightly to show that it understood before charging forward.
As it ran, it repeatedly used Agility to increase its speed.
Great Girros was a monster resembling a large raptor, with purple skin and a body roughly the same size as Great Izuchi.
Tobi-Kadachi, on the other hand, had a snake-like head, a wolf-like body, and a massive tail covered in long silver-gray fur.
It was between eleven and fifteen meters long.
In terms of size, Tobi-Kadachi was somewhat larger than Great Girros.
By the time Zhang Tian arrived on Great Izuchi’s back, Great Girros was already being thoroughly beaten.
The more than a dozen Girros accompanying it had all been killed by Tobi-Kadachi and were lying scattered across the ground.
“Roar!”
Tobi-Kadachi leaped into the air.
Its enormous tail, crackling with electricity, came crashing down onto the fallen Great Girros.
Bang!
Its skull was crushed instantly.

Zhang Tian looked regretfully at Great Girros’s corpse before throwing Arzuros’s Poké Ball.

Seeing Arzuros and Great Izuchi suddenly appear, Tobi-Kadachi immediately became wary and began considering retreat.

Pidgeotto spread its wings, unleashing a powerful gust of wind toward Tobi-Kadachi.

Arzuros, meanwhile, charged toward Tobi-Kadachi at a much slower pace.
Arzuros was simply too slow.

Tobi-Kadachi flipped backward, avoiding Pidgeotto’s gust before immediately turning around and fleeing.
It had already spent a long time fighting Great Girros, and its condition wasn’t good.
It had no intention of fighting Great Izuchi, Pidgeotto, and Arzuros as well.
If there had only been one opponent, Tobi-Kadachi might have stayed and fought.
But there were three enemies.
Naturally, it chose to retreat.
However, Tobi-Kadachi had severely underestimated Great Izuchi’s speed.
It took only seven or eight seconds for Great Izuchi to catch up.

Great Izuchi reached Tobi-Kadachi’s right side and twisted its body, swinging its enormous tail toward the monster.
Faced with the incoming attack, Tobi-Kadachi leaped into the air, narrowly avoiding the huge hooked claw at the end of Great Izuchi’s tail.
Tobi-Kadachi possessed excellent jumping ability.
It could even glide through the air.
Because of this, Tobi-Kadachi often relied on aerial movement during battle.

Tobi-Kadachi spread its patagium and glided sideways through the air.
Under normal circumstances, a Great Izuchi wouldn’t have been able to catch a Tobi-Kadachi while it was gliding.
But Zhang Tian’s Great Izuchi was far from ordinary.
Great Izuchi took only a few steps before catching up and cutting off Tobi-Kadachi’s path.

Great Izuchi opened its mouth and spat a large glob of water toward Tobi-Kadachi.
It was using Water Spit.

As Tobi-Kadachi descended, Great Izuchi charged toward it.
Tobi-Kadachi hadn’t even reached the ground.
It was still about two meters above the ground when Great Izuchi arrived.
Powerful Tail Swing!
Great Izuchi whipped its enormous tail toward Tobi-Kadachi.
With no way to push itself away in midair, Tobi-Kadachi could only twist its head aside as far as possible while raising its right foreleg to shield its face.
Bang!
The huge hooked claw at the end of Great Izuchi’s tail struck Tobi-Kadachi’s right foreleg.
Crack!
The claw pierced straight through the limb and continued into Tobi-Kadachi’s right cheek.
Crack!
Crack!
The bones in Tobi-Kadachi’s face fractured under the tremendous impact, and the force sent it crashing to the ground.
“Roar!”
Great Izuchi swung its tail again.
Just as it had done against Arzuros, it struck Tobi-Kadachi’s head with the blunt back of its claw.
Bang!
Tobi-Kadachi was knocked unconscious.
A short while later, Zhang Tian arrived with Pidgeotto and Arzuros.
“Well done, Great Izuchi.”
After praising Great Izuchi, Zhang Tian threw a Poké Ball at the unconscious Tobi-Kadachi.
Bang!
A flash of red light appeared as Tobi-Kadachi was absorbed into the Poké Ball.
The Poké Ball shook several times before finally becoming still.
