The screen had gone black—classic sign of a crash.

Probably wiped something important too, who knows.

But hey, with Elaine around, none of that was even close to a real problem.Full novel: My Reborn Wife Wants Revenge and Power — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Isabella was just gearing up to scold her when Marcus happened to show up.

He gave everyone a cold once-over and asked flatly, “What’s going on?”

Isabella jumped in fast, reporting, “Mr.

Sinclair, there’s a contract with Tapnova saved on Audrey’s computer.”

Elaine rolled her eyes and corrected, “It just crashed, not vanished into thin air.”

“Do you need it urgently?” Elaine asked, flipping the question around.

Isabella glanced at Marcus before replying, “Next Monday.”

Elaine had thought it was something major.

But with that kinda timeline, she could fix it in her sleep.

Still, she couldn’t just flaunt her skills.

Best stay low-key and move slowly.

“It’s only Tuesday,” Elaine said, casually tapping her fingers to count the days.

“Don’t worry, I’ll have it back to normal before the end of the day.”

Of course, Isabella wasn’t exactly hoping for a fix.

But she put on that oh-so-helpful act and said to Marcus, “Sir, maybe it’s safer to call in someone from Engineering.”

Elaine had already seen right through her little performance.

She answered firmly, “No need.

I said I’ve got this, and I do.”

Then she glanced over at Marcus, catching his unreadable gaze.

But she was ready for that—she expected him to take Isabella’s side.

The only way to fight back was with results, for her sake and for Audrey’s.

But to her surprise, Marcus held her stare for a second, then said coolly, “Let her handle it.”

That clearly blindsided Isabella.

Her whole face screamed disappointment.

Elaine shot Marcus a grateful look, then declared, “If anything goes wrong, I’ll take full responsibility.”

Marcus’s face twitched slightly like he had mixed thoughts, though he didn’t say much.

He wasn’t planning on walking into a mess, but here they were.

To his knowledge, Audrey was no tech wizard.

Once the crowd broke up, Elaine got to work.

She borrowed some tools from Engineering and, under everyone’s curious stares, took the computer apart and put it back together like it was nothing.

She didn’t power it on right away.

In her head, a little revenge plot was already forming.

Time to take care of the small fry first.

Gotta make a statement, right?

She noticed an empty desk in the corner and moved her tools over—it was out of sight, perfect for what she had in mind.

People were probably waiting to watch her mess up, and she sure wasn’t about to let them down—not with the kind of show she was about to give.

Cracking her knuckles, Elaine got to it.

Her fingers moved fast, steady, like they’d done this a hundred times.

The internet here wasn’t bad—tapping into that woman’s phone was going to be a breeze.

Without her usual software, she had to go old-school.

Ten minutes later, Natalie got a text—a work-related link, supposedly from the company.

But yep, Elaine had tampered with the site.

All she needed was for Natalie to click it.

She couldn’t guarantee Natalie would, but luck was on her side.

The second Natalie tapped it, Elaine broke into her phone like clockwork.

In no time, she downloaded the contents of her photo gallery—and man, some of those pics?

Definitely not for public viewing.
