A while ago.
Feng Shuran continued hunting down the members of the Dae Qu sect by following the black dots. Soon, she started coming across elders who were at the late stages of the Foundation Establishment Realm.
Even with their magical treasures, none of them posed any problems, and she easily killed them. Of course, she didn’t forget to loot their bodies after killing them.
Elders usually carried some valuables with them in their storage treasures; it would be a waste to leave these things with the corpses.
This process made her hunting speed reduce a bit, but it wasn’t much of a problem as the black dots had reduced to just five; these five were a few kilometres ahead of her and were quickly speeding away.
Feng Shuran quickly used her movement technique to chase after them. She caught up after some time and appeared in the air in front of the five people, one of them being the old man who had taken Su Zhui’s corpse earlier.
The other four were elders of the Dae Qu sect and were at the Foundation Establishment Realm.
Feng Shuran’s appearance forced the five to come to a stop in the air, their flying swords waving a bit due to their sudden halt. They all stared at the cold-faced Feng Shuran with horror in their eyes.
Nobody said anything for a while as both sides looked at each other; only the wind dared to whisper as it blew past them.
The old man stared at Feng Shuran and gulped secretly. He knew that since Feng Shuran had reached the Nascent Soul Realm, they no longer had any hopes of matching her; he was currently thinking of abandoning these elders and escaping alone or whether they should beg for forgiveness.
Before he could come to a decision, Feng Shuran suddenly moved her left hand.
Splat!
One of the elders behind the old man suddenly exploded into a bloody mess as if several blades had chopped his body into pieces. Bits of his flesh, organs, and a rain of blood dropped from the air and into the forest below.
It was Feng Shuran’s silver threads!
There was silence as the old man and the remaining three elders froze after witnessing the invisible killer’s new might.
The old man couldn’t hesitate anymore as she saw Feng Shuran take the dead elder’s storage pouch.
"Isn’t this enough? We already gave up on getting revenge, and you have almost wiped us out. Can’t you just let us be?
You might be stronger than us, but our Dae Qu sect has a relationship with other big sects outside Oghara. If you don’t let us go, they’ll definitely come for you!" The old man cried out, trying to plead and threaten Feng Shuran at the same time.
Usually, hearing that a force outside Oghara might get involved would make a cultivator hesitate, but Feng Shuran smiled coldly instead as Gu Chen’s handsome face appeared in her mind.
So what if they knew other sects outside Oghara? Her Master was an Immortal who could give out a godly pill and was an enemy of the Seven Realms Alliance; Taru Continent alone wouldn’t be his match!
"You gave up on getting revenge? You don’t have the ability to decide that!" Feng Shuran scoffed and waved her hand again.
"Arhhh!"
This time, the remaining three elders suddenly felt something wrapping around their bodies at the same time, and they screamed in fright.
Their voices stopped the next second as they all exploded into a shower of blood and flesh, just like the first elder that Feng Shuran had killed.
Before the bloody mess they had become could drop, three small pouches flew out and shot towards Feng Shuran before hovering behind her.
The old man trembled, a very cold feeling gripping his heart.
"Please don’t kill me! I wasn’t in support of all of this; I only did it because I was ordered to. Here, I’ll give you everything I have, just let me go!" The old man shouted as he threw three green pouches in random directions.
He didn’t even wait to see if Feng Shuran tried to catch them before turning around and running away.
He was a Core Formation Realm cultivator, so his speed wasn’t bad. But in front of a Nascent Soul Realm Feng Shuran, his actions weren’t sleek.
Before he could even fly for ten meters, a near-invisible thread suddenly appeared around his neck and sliced his head off. More threads appeared soon after and shredded his body before fishing out two more pouches and bringing them to Feng Shuran.
"Why should I accept your surrender when I can collect everything after killing you?" French Shuran scoffed as she watched the shredded corpse drop into the forest below.
She turned around and flew in the direction of another black dot. This one wasn’t a member of the Dae Qu sect; it was Gu Chen!
At the thought of meeting Gu Chen again, a warm smile appeared on her face as her cold expression magically disappeared.
"Master will be happy when I give him these," she mumbled to herself as she flew, thinking of the pouches she had gathered.
There was still the Dae Qu sect ground as well; there must be other valuables there. She would gather everything and give them to her Master!
....
Back in Otefe. Gu Chen looked at the fellow who had crashed into the wall of the inn. It was a young man who looked to be in his early twenties and was wearing a brown shirt and grey pants that had seen better times.
He then turned to the side that the young man had flown from. On that side, three hefty men who were at the body-tempering stage stood behind another young man in a clean robe and white pants; this one was clearly from a wealthy background.
The reason why Gu Chen got surprised earlier was that the words of this fellow who had three bodyguards were very familiar.
Although it had been a long time since he had left Earth, Gu Chen still remembered some things from there.
This was the arrogant young master trope from those online novels he used to read!
In those stories, the protagonist would usually encounter a few of such people and use them as a stepping stone to new strength.
At the thought of this, something clicked in Gu Chen’s mind.
’Eh, does that mean this kid is some protagonist?’ he thought while looking back at the young man on the ground.
Gu Chen shook his head and turned away. Although he found it interesting and wanted to see how the other party would avoid this crisis, he had other important things to do.
Shuran would be returning soon; he had to set up the organisation base quickly before she returned! Also, there were these people from the inn following him.
"Li Shi, do you think you can do anything in broad daylight and get away with it? There are rules in Otefe; you’ll be punished for causing trouble!" The young man on the ground shouted while coughing.
"Hehehe, what are you talking about? My grandfather has connections with the Dae Qu sect and is planning to take the discipleship exam next week. Do you think anyone in Otefe will dare mess with me?" The other person laughed while approaching with his guards.
Gu Chen heard this as he took a turn into a different street; he couldn’t help making a strange face.
How would that kid react if he knew the Dae Qu sect didn’t exist anymore?
