If it was a small altercation, a minor revenge then Ren would not have minded. He would have applauded the boy for taking a stand.
In fact, he did not even trust the boy to win the fight. He was waiting for Ye Yaming to lose and then enter the scene to warn the four guys.
But Ye Yaming... the boy killed without consideration. That man, Kai, had only thrown a stone at him, not even at his vitals but the leg.
"Why are you here?" He looked confused and his voice sounded hoarse, dangerous. He had picked up the blade and was cleaning it, wiping the blood off, slowly walking towards Ren.
How come Ren was here? And why was he scolding him? The scene strangely reminded him of the day he was wrongly implicated and sentenced to prison.
"Wait! You were watching?" He stopped his steps and looked at Ren expecting an answer. The hand wiping the blade paused and the cloth being used was dropped to the ground.
"You knew them, didn’t you?" He resumed his walk, accusing Ren for collaborating with the group of four. There was no way to explain that timely appearance.
"Of course I did! They have been in prison longer than your age." Ren did not seem to get Ye Yaming’s point.
’Look at him pretending to be tough. The innocence of youth.’ Ye Yaming’s stance and tone seemed like a pretense to Ren. He had seen the fight. The boy was drained of Qi.
He believed that the boy would be scared, intimidated inside.
"Now, give me the blade and we will both keep this secret to our graves." Showing a shady smile, he moved his hand towards Ye Yaming and asked directly for the blade he desired.
"Blade? I see." Looking at the blade, Ye Yaming nodded. He got the gist of it.
He looked closely at the blade before stabbing it into the ground. "Come on, get it."
Showing a polite smile, he beckoned at Ren to come and pick up the blade. He stood there, arms crossed as he waited for Ren to come and pick up the blade from near his feet.
"What? What do you mean?" Ren was enraged. It was beyond disrespectful.
To gesture at a senior to come over and kneel? Ren felt like slapping the boy to death, a painful death.
But he stood there arrogantly and smirked at the boy before speaking.
"Do you think Li Shan is a kindred soul? He will kill you in seconds if he finds out about your real strength."
"Hand me over the blade and I’d do you a favour by not telling him." He arrogantly tapped at the ground with his right leg for Ye Yaming to bring the blade and present it to him.
Li Shan was strong but there was a reason why Li Shan did not have a strong second-in-command. He feared a strong ally more than an enemy.
If Li Shan happened to know about this incident, added with the incident of two Ye clan members being killed, there were very high chances that he would try to put down the boy.
"Here, take it." Ye Yaming kicked the blade further into the ground as he spoke.
But he did not stop at it. He coated his whole body with the dense black Beast Qi, and walked towards Ren.
"Why are you...?? No! You’re planning to attack me?" Seeing the amount of Beast Qi, Ren staggered. He could not fathom how the boy had so much Qi left in him. But then came another surprise, the boy was walking towards him with a deathly smile.
"You think I did not see you using your Qi excessively?" He also summoned his Beast Qi, red in color and chuckled, hoping to dissuade the boy. His combat strength was negligible. He could barely beat two of the four that Ye Yaming had just killed.
He desperately hoped that the boy would back away as he put on a fake dismissive smile on his face. He had witnessed what the single swipe from that Black Beast Qi had done to Gu Yan’s Iron Fist. He did not want to experience this.
Ye Yaming kept slowly heading towards him. He glanced at the blade fully stuck in the ground. The blade was the only thing that could hurt the boy but he couldn’t reach it.
The fake smile on his face faltered.
The intensity of Ye Yaming’s Beast Qi was invoking fear inside his body.
Suddenly, a Raven with shiny scale-like feathers on its wings appeared from inside Ye Yaming’s chest. It glanced at Ye Yaming before walking towards Ren.
’A mutated beast soul...’ Ren stepped back after seeing the Beast Soul. The Qi surrounding Ye Yaming decreased but the pressure on him increased because of the beast soul. He was paralysed from fear. He could not even summon his own Beast Soul.
He did not dare to provoke the Beast Soul or boy.
He was just watching from the sidelines hoping to get the blade after blackmailing the boy. He did not expect the situation to unfold like this.
He had thought that it would be easy to reprimand and scold the boy after the intense fight.
The Raven stood really close and stared at him with its deep eyes while Ye Yaming kicked him in the leg, making him fall.
"How dare you!! Leave me right now!! Boss will kill you!! Stop!!" The boy did not stop at it. He grabbed Ren’s right leg. The same leg Ren had gestured at him, using both of his hands he snapped it from the knees, leaving it dangling.
Ren groaned in pain. He had shouted Stop with all his strength but Ye Yaming tore his legs from the knee. He could not feel the connection, the lower leg was dangling from the skin only.
"No!! please!! Stop!!" Before his cries could end, Ye Yaming grabbed his other leg in the very same way.
He was crying. His eyes were red. He did not do anything to expect this.
"No. I am sorry! Forgive me. Please!!!" He held Ye Yaming’s hand, wanting to stop him but the strength difference was too high.
