With a soft moan, Lin Zhi weakly fell toward Gu Jingchen.
Qin Mingzhu was stunned truly worthy of an actress, the posture looked so natural!
In a split second, Qin Mingzhu pressed down on the man’s outstretched hand, spun gracefully, and perfectly caught Lin Zhi.
“Miss Lin, be careful, the floor is slippery.” She smiled brightly.
Lin Zhi’s expression changed abruptly. “What are you doing here? Come to laugh at me?”
“Miss Lin, you’re thinking too badly of me. I just simply don’t want you throwing yourself into my husband’s arms.” Qin Mingzhu curled her lips, revealing a small tiger tooth.
Her words were so blunt that Lin Zhi’s chest heaved with anger.
That damned vixen why is she so hard to deal with!
She angrily shook off Qin Mingzhu’s hand. “Don’t touch me get away from me!”
Qin Mingzhu blinked quickly, neither dodging nor avoiding, letting Lin Zhi’s untrimmed sharp nails dig deeply into her neck!
Pain beyond imagination spread rapidly from her neck. Qin Mingzhu cried out, clutching her neck as she half-knelt, bright red blood seeping through her fingers.
“Qin Mingzhu!?” Gu Jingchen’s breath hitched slightly. He quickly grabbed her slender wrist. “Let go, let me see.”
“It hurts so much.” Qin Mingzhu trembled all over, tears streaming uncontrollably.
“Don’t cry. Let’s go see a doctor first.” Gu Jingchen frowned and guided her out by the shoulders.
Only then did Lin Zhi, frozen in place, come back to her senses and hurriedly say, “Jingchen, it has nothing to do with me it’s because she didn’t dodge!”
“Shut up.” Gu Jingchen paused slightly, his face half-hidden in shadow, his tone icy. “Lin Zhi, don’t push your luck.”
“Husband, forget it.” Qin Mingzhu tugged at his sleeve and said softly, “She’s right. I really didn’t dodge.”
The expected protection didn’t come. Gu Jingchen only looked at her with the same cold gaze.
Qin Mingzhu licked her lips guiltily.
Luckily, they were already at the hospital, and the assistant quickly got them registered.
“Doctor, please take a look she was scratched by fingernails.”
“So serious?” the doctor muttered while disinfecting. “Such a deep wound will probably leave a scar.”
Qin Mingzhu instantly regretted it deeply.
The bandage was wrapped around her neck three times. After treatment, she sat obediently on an iron chair outside the ward.
The ward door opened, and a pair of long legs stopped in front of her.
Enduring the pain, she tilted her head up, baring her teeth as she asked, “Husband, is there any painkiller?”
“No.” Gu Jingchen looked down at her.
“Then can you ask the doctor to prescribe some?” Qin Mingzhu sniffed.
She really felt like she was about to die from the pain.
“The doctor was going to.”

Qin Mingzhu tilted her head in confusion.
Gu Jingchen resisted the urge to rub his forehead and said coldly, “I didn’t allow it.”
Qin Mingzhu’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Why?”
“Wasn’t it intentional?” Gu Jingchen leaned down, the distance between them less than a finger.
His warm breath brushed against her face, making it heat up uncontrollably. She stammered, “I didn’t expect her to hurt me that badly.”
“I told you think about the consequences before making a decision. Seems like you didn’t take it to heart.”
The man straightened up, his brows slightly furrowed, his tone cold.
Qin Mingzhu fell silent, not knowing how to defend herself.
After waiting a moment, Gu Jingchen finally closed his eyes briefly, tossed the medicine bag into her arms, and left without looking back.
His tall figure exuded the silent, cold authority of someone in power.
Qin Mingzhu didn’t dare chase after him immediately, hugging the medicine bag as she stood there in a daze.
A moment later, she snapped out of it and ran after him.
At the hospital entrance, cars came and went.
Slightly out of breath, Qin Mingzhu asked Xu Yan, “Where’s Gu Jingchen?”
“Madam, there was an urgent meeting at the company. President Gu has already left.”
Qin Mingzhu didn’t believe it was really a meeting.
That dog of a man was probably angry.
“Uh… what does he usually like to eat?” she scratched her head awkwardly.
Thinking of the dark expression on President Gu’s face earlier, Xu Yan immediately guessed the couple had quarreled and smiled. “Madam, anything you make will do. President Gu isn’t picky.”
Not picky? Easy to take care of, then.
Qin Mingzhu absentmindedly watched the scenery rushing past the window. It wasn’t until the car drove into a uniquely styled courtyard that she came back to her senses.
Their newlywed villa had its own courtyard and bamboo grove. After parting with Xu Yan, Qin Mingzhu walked alone along the winding stone path through the bamboo forest.
The villa had three floors, with a Western-style pointed roof. Soft light spilled out from the windows.
She knocked on the door, but when no one responded, she wiped her hands clean and used her fingerprint.

The heavy door automatically opened. As Qin Mingzhu pushed it open, the first thing she saw was a floor covered in melon seed shells.
She almost thought she had gone to the wrong place. Looking closer, she saw Auntie Li, the housekeeper, curled up on the sofa watching TV, with bits of melon seed shells still stuck to her lips!
