Hold Me Tight
The office was spacious. To the left of the entrance was Gu Jingchen’s work area, and to the right was a sofa for resting.
Qin Mingzhu took the medicine, sat obediently on the sofa, mixed it with water, and drank it.
The wound on her neck throbbed faintly. The office temperature was just right, and as she listened to the man discussing work, her eyelids grew heavier and heavier.
In the end, she simply hugged a pillow and fell fast asleep on the sofa.
No one knew how much time had passed before the office fell silent.
Qin Mingzhu rubbed her eyes and sat up, lifting the blanket off her body. It was already late outside.
Only a desk lamp was on in the office. Gu Jingchen was still reading documents, the warm yellow light casting shadows along his high nose bridge, making his handsome face look even more flawless.
Qin Mingzhu’s eyes darted, and she quietly moved over, wrapping her arms around his neck from behind.
“Still not done with work?” she whispered softly.
Gu Jingchen lowered his gaze to the restless hands on his chest and narrowed his eyes. “Doesn’t your neck hurt anymore?”
It was a warning think about the consequences before acting.
But Qin Mingzhu had come for exactly this.
She smiled slyly, her hands becoming even bolder as they wandered downward. “Husband, a spring night is worth a thousand gold pieces. Are you really going to waste it on these boring reports?”
Her slender, nimble fingers quickly undid several buttons, revealing firm abdominal muscles beneath.
Such well-defined muscles!
Qin Mingzhu’s eyes lit up, becoming even more daring as she teased him.
Smack!
Gu Jingchen grabbed her arm, his gaze dark. “This is the company.”
Qin Mingzhu blinked innocently. “Whose fault is it for not going home?”
Then she seemed to recall something and gave a mischievous, cat-like smile. “Hey… I heard CEOs usually have private suites in their offices. Is that true?”
Gu Jingchen tightened his arm, pulling her close until there was barely any space between them.
A dangerous glint flickered in his eyes, as if it could swallow her whole. His voice turned husky. “What do you want to do?”
Qin Mingzhu’s heart pounded like a drum, though she pretended to stay calm. “Fulfill our duties as husband and wife. What can’t you?”
Almost the moment she finished speaking, he flipped her over and pinned her onto the desk.
Papers scattered everywhere. Qin Mingzhu’s vision went dark for a second, and then her lips were bitten in a punishing kiss.
She quickly began to gasp. This was the first time Gu Jingchen had taken the initiative to kiss her. His overwhelming presence nearly consumed all her senses.
She tried to retreat, but the more she pulled back, the more intense his kisses became.
“Hold onto me.”
She heard his commanding voice from above and instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist.
Under the storm-like intensity, Qin Mingzhu felt like a drifting reed in the rain, clinging tightly to him.
She started to regret it.
She should have coaxed him into going to the bedroom instead.
Her strength drained away, and she softly begged, “Husband, I was wrong.”
“You brought this on yourself.” Gu Jingchen gripped her chin and deepened the kiss.
A night of chaos.
By the end, Qin Mingzhu was so exhausted she couldn’t even lift a finger.
The man gently touched her neck.
“Gu Jingchen, you still want more?” she asked, surprised and drowsy.
“Stop it.” His breathing grew heavier. “I’m changing your dressing.”
Relieved, Qin Mingzhu closed her eyes and muttered, “You’re such a beast. My wound is definitely going to scar.”
“It won’t,” he said hoarsely. “The Gu family has specialists for scar removal.”
Rich people are really something… was Qin Mingzhu’s last thought before drifting into sleep.
The next day, Qin Mingzhu opened her eyes groggily, almost forgetting where she was.
She stared blankly at the ceiling for a moment, then suddenly widened her eyes and turned to the side
Empty.
Gu Jingchen wasn’t there!
That jerk after keeping her up so late last night, he just left without a word this morning?
Qin Mingzhu bit the blanket in frustration.
But she had come to him on her own, after all. She kicked the blanket a few times to vent, and when she saw a neatly folded set of new clothes by the bedside, her irritation completely disappeared.
Didn’t expect that jerk to even know her size.
In a better mood, Qin Mingzhu took the clothes and went to the bathroom for a shower. After washing up, she faintly heard voices outside the door.
Her heart started pounding immediately she had forgotten that outside this suite was directly Gu Jingchen’s private office!
Maybe she could overhear some secrets?
Qin Mingzhu quickly pressed herself against the door to listen.
“What are you here for?” the man’s voice was cold.
“Jingchen, I’m sorry. I was just too emotional yesterday. I never thought you would marry someone else…”
Lin Zhi!!
That jerk just after being intimate with her, he’s meeting his childhood sweetheart?! Qin Mingzhu clenched her fists in anger.
Men really think with different halves of their bodies!
“What makes you think I wouldn’t marry someone else?” Gu Jingchen asked with a faintly mocking tone.
“Jingchen, aside from that misunderstanding back then, what conflict do we even have?” Lin Zhi sounded anxious. “You sent me away without a word. It’s been five years hasn’t your anger faded yet? I’ve been waiting for your apology. How could you just get married?”
“Waiting for my apology?” Gu Jingchen sounded as if he’d heard a joke.
If they kept reminiscing, Qin Mingzhu feared her husband might end up with a girlfriend on the side.
She sneered inwardly, loosened two buttons of her shirt, revealing the bruised marks along her collarbone.
“Jingchen, is there a guest?” Qin Mingzhu pretended to have just woken up, rubbing her eyes as she walked behind him and kissed his cheek right in front of Lin Zhi.
The air instantly fell silent.
Pretending not to see Gu Jingchen’s murderous glare, Qin Mingzhu said in surprise, “Oh, Miss Lin? So early what brings you here?”
Lin Zhi’s face turned green, but she forced a smile. “Haha, early? It’s already 9:30 in the morning. Miss Qin, why not sleep a bit longer? You can get up after Jingchen and I finish talking.”
“No choice can’t sleep well without my husband by my side,” Qin Mingzhu deliberately provoked her, wrapping her arms around Gu Jingchen’s neck from behind and acting spoiled. “Husband, you kept me up so late last night, and this morning you left without even saying a word. Hmph.”
Gu Jingchen’s lips twitched. He barely restrained himself from pulling her arms off.
Qin Mingzhu grew even bolder, resting her chin on his head and blinking innocently. “By the way, Miss Lin, weren’t you badly injured yesterday? How are you already discharged today?”
“I…” Lin Zhi trembled, closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, tears shimmered within. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you yesterday.”
Qin Mingzhu narrowed her eyes slightly.
Not good Lin Zhi had leveled up.
“Oh? Was that what you were just telling my husband?” she casually set a trap.
Lin Zhi jumped right in without hesitation. “Yes. I hope Miss Qin can accept my apology.”
“Wow, you’re really interesting,” Qin Mingzhu praised exaggeratedly. “It’s my first time seeing someone apologize to the husband instead of the person they hurt.”
Lin Zhi clenched her teeth hard.
Qin Mingzhu pressed on, “Alright, I accept your apology. Just next time, if you want to apologize, come directly to me.”
“I was inappropriate!” Lin Zhi gripped her handbag tightly, slammed the office door, and left.
Qin Mingzhu’s smile widened silently.
The moment Gu Jingchen looked at her, she coughed lightly and changed the subject. “Husband, I’m hungry.”
“Eat breakfast in the car.” Gu Jingchen grabbed her wrist and said calmly, “Grandma is waiting for us at the main house.”
Qin Mingzhu’s eyes widened.
Right on the second day of marriage, they had to serve tea!
