Luke was directed to the lower chamber of the platinum cage, having signed a few other documents and passed through some checks, which were to certify his standing in the hunter hierarchy.
He stood still in a wide enclosed chamber, plated with stainless steel at all sides, before him were various spatial gates each leading to a particular dungeon, he had been asked to choose one of them.
Luke clad in wooden armour studied each gate, they pulsed with unrestrained dark energy.
’They all look the same.’ Luke thought to himself, wondering why they had asked him to choose in the first place, the gates were lined in rows and columns.
Luke Lingered for a while, he had already signed the contract, there was no going back, and without further hesitation, he stepped through the spatial gate directly ahead of him.
*Crash.*
Luke had fallen from the sky and crashed on a soft, murky and wet surface, he nudged his forehead twice, trying to balance himself. Directly below him was a large mushroom spanning over two meters in length. Still unstable from the fall, Luke slid off from the murky and wet mush room and landed with his back directly on a huge slab of rock, covered with thick and wet moss.
"That hurts." Luke winced as he rubbed his aching back. He briefly studied his surroundings, immediately mesmerized by the scenery.
The forest was dominated by enormous mushrooms, each mound acting as shed for the sun high above, They resembled giant emerald blue cushions, their thick, surfaces glistening with moisture. Moss spread over rocks and tree roots like a living blanket, swallowing anything beneath it and jutting out of the moss were blue glistening rough like rocks, the sun rays reflecting on the glistening blue rocks.
Luke’s gaze lingered on the blue rocks.
"What are those?" Luke asked himself, already thinking about it’s probable cost in the capital.
*It won’t be bad if i check it.." Before Luke could finish that sentence, the rock below him moved and the next second he was flung to the side crashing on the mossy clearing.
"What the..?"
Luke forced out as he stabled himself on the ground equipping his shitty wooden sword as he concentrated on the rock that had just moved.
[Stone Beetle] ( Level 4 ( HP : 50/50)
Luke’s mouth hung wide open, the rock he had landed on was a void creature, The Stone Beetle was nearly the size of a wolf, its body encased in thick, uneven wet and mossy rock that looked as though it had been carved from solid granite.
Layers of lichen clung to its backs, making it almost indistinguishable from ordinary boulders. Six thick legs emerged from the soil, ending in jagged iron claws.
Its head was protected by a heavy stone like carapace, from which protruded two enormous serrated mandibles. Tiny crimson eyes glowed beneath the rocky armor, barely visible.
It clicked its mandibles and lunged forward with speed that a void creature with a boulder as a back shouldn’t possess, Luke responded with a thrust into the narrow visage in its armor, as not all the parts of it could be stone.
However to Luke’s dismay, the stone beetle was faster, it’s mandibles snapped cutting down Luke’s wooden sword with ease, Luke watched splinters scatter all over the clearing with a sour expression, he stumbled back, standing up on his feet.
The stone beetle rushed forward, Luke didn’t
remain standing, he sprinted, trying to get as far away as he could from the stone beetle but the void creature didn’t wait for its prey to escape, it screeched loudly and the next second, luke felt hit from behind, he stumbled forward, crashing on the mossy ground.
The Stone beetle pressed further, aiming to take it’s advantage and tear the human down to pieces, Luke glanced around and picked two of the blue rough like rocks closest to him, the rocks felt cool to the touch.
But luke had no time to focus on that as he used one rock to shield himself from the incoming mandibles.
The two collided in a loud crash but Luke wasn’t done, his second hand was already moving towards the narrow fissure were its glowing eyes were, the stone beetle noticing the incoming hit, screeched. The glowing blue rock cracked and shattered into shards, biting into Luke’s hands, however the rock in Luke’s other hand had already passed through the hole under the beetles carapace.
Stone met flesh.
There was a loud crunch, and then the stone beetle went still.
Ella’s voice echoed in Luke’s ears..
[You have killed a Spawn beast, Stone beetle!]
[You have received 10 Stat points!]
[You have Received an accessory!]
Luke sighed as he crashed on the ground staring at the towering mushrooms that served as shed. The stone beetles mandibles had effortlessly cut through his wooden armour and had bitten through his hands. Luke’s hands bled profusely.
’I received an accessory eh?’
Luke thought to himself, the game’s system had given him an accessory.. Which could be a weapon like a spear or a sword, an outfit or various types of tools that would be of help to an hunter. It was a reward for killing void creatures from the game’s system
Luke summoned one of his accessories first..
The random outfit.
He tore a part of it. He then wrapped the part the had torn around his bleeding hand. Having bandaged it, luke sighed.
Then dismissed the random outfit.
"Codex."
Luke muttered, curious about the new Accessory.
’Please let it be a stone armour, I’m tired of this clunky shit.’
The codex appeared before Luke.
