He lifted his right foot abruptly and flickered to the side, as a Kunai rose from the ground.
Immediately after, he saw that Genin vault out from underground.
Hiruzen Sarutobi, watching from the side, smiled and couldn’t help but remark, “Nan is a very patient child; he remains calm in the face of danger, much like Kagami back in the day.”
Umino Iruka nodded in satisfaction from the side; after all, this was a student he had taught, and he felt a sense of pride.
Uchiha Nan lunged forward with a Kunai in hand, taking advantage of the brief moment when the opponent had just emerged from the ground and was struggling to steady himself.
Just as he was about to close the distance, that Genin had already quickly adjusted his state, focusing his mind to prepare to take Uchiha Nan’s attack head-on.
Unexpectedly, Uchiha Nan’s figure flickered as he used the Body Flicker Technique to appear right in front of him.
He thrust his right hand forward with the Kunai.
Caught off guard by the sudden acceleration, the Genin hurriedly dodged to the side to avoid the Kunai.
Little did he know that Uchiha Nan’s move was merely a feint; he threw a straight punch with his left hand, landing squarely on the Genin’s abdomen.
Konoha Gale!
The Genin’s body arched as if struck by a heavy hammer, sending him flying backward, just as he was about to land in the crowd.
An Anbu behind Hiruzen Sarutobi flickered into motion and caught him.
Uchiha Nan approached the Hokage, knelt on one knee, and cupped his hands in a salute.
“I have fulfilled the mission, Hokage-sama.”
“Good, Nan, you are truly a genius of my Konoha.” Hiruzen Sarutobi laughed heartily and helped Uchiha Nan up.
Before long, Kakashi also defeated his opponent and passed the examination.
Hiruzen Sarutobi consoled the two failed Genin and personally presented them with their Ninja headbands.
“Nan, Kakashi, from now on you are Konoha Ninja.
You are no longer just children; you must complete missions for the Village.
Do you understand?”
Hiruzen Sarutobi said with a serious expression.
“Yes, Hokage-sama.” Uchiha Nan and Kakashi took the headbands and tied them around their heads.
Hiruzen Sarutobi’s expression then softened.
“Normally, after graduation, you would need to be assigned a Jonin instructor.”
“But since you graduated early, it is difficult to assign you uniformly.
I will consider the matter of a Jonin instructor further.”
“I have witnessed both of your strengths, so I can grant special approval for you two to temporarily team up and take on some D-rank and C-rank missions.”
“For now, you can have three days off, after which you must start taking on missions.”
Kakashi raised an eyebrow.
Having experienced the incident where his father was betrayed by his teammates, he was somewhat reluctant to form a team to complete missions.
He wanted to become a solo Ninja and challenge high-difficulty missions on his own.
But since the Hokage had designated Uchiha Nan as his teammate, he swallowed those words and grudgingly accepted it.
He would decline the Hokage’s kindness when teammates were reassigned in the future.
Once finished, amidst the envious gazes of surrounding classmates, Uchiha Nan and Kakashi walked out of the school.
“Kakashi, stop pulling such a long face.
We’ve graduated, so I’ll treat you to Miso Saury.”
Seeing that Kakashi still looked displeased, Uchiha Nan generously offered to treat him.
Anyway, the 1 million Ryo given to him by the Great Elder would be impossible to spend.
Upon hearing that his favorite food was on the menu, Kakashi did not refuse and followed Uchiha Nan to a restaurant.
“Boss, one order of Miso Saury, Braised Eggplant…”
Uchiha Nan ordered many dishes in one go, all of which were favorites for him and Kakashi.
Putting a piece of fragrant fish into his mouth, he heard Kakashi ask, “Nan, what are your plans for the next few days?”
Uchiha Nan chewed a couple of times, scooped up a spoonful of rice, swallowed it, and thought for a moment before replying, “Probably rest a bit, spend time with the person I want to be with, and then complete the first mission in peak condition.”
“What about you, Kakashi?”
“I will probably train in the sword techniques left behind by my father.”
Uchiha Nan’s eyes lit up upon hearing this: “That’s good stuff!
A treasure left by your father; perhaps you can become the second White Fang of Konoha.”
Kakashi nodded and looked seriously at Uchiha Nan: “Do you want to learn?
I can teach you.”
“Is that okay?
After all, it is your family’s secret sword technique.” Uchiha Nan really wanted to learn this swordsmanship.
Otherwise, given his own physical constitution, he really couldn’t find any Taijutsu in Konoha that he could fully utilize.
If he learned the sword techniques of Sakumo Hatake, it would give him an additional means of combating enemies and allow him to utilize his own advantages even more perfectly.
It could be passed down from generation to generation, allowing Kakashi’s lineage to flourish and evolve into a small clan.
One must know that even small Ninja clans during the Sengoku period did not have such high-level techniques passed down.
If Kakashi just gave it to him like this, wouldn’t Jonin Sakumo blame him?
Kakashi nodded seriously: “I have decided on this matter.
I believe Father will agree.”
“Alright then.” Uchiha Nan did not decline further; at worst, he would just treat Kakashi well in the future.
After both were full and satisfied, Uchiha Nan paid the bill, and the two parted ways.
Uchiha Nan returned to his bedroom on the second floor, lay on the Tatami, and rolled around twice, feeling very uncomfortable.
Previously, because he was always at the Ninja Academy, he hadn’t renovated the room and had kept the original structure.
Now that he had a few days off, he could finally replace some of the furniture with ones he liked.
For example, he was tired of this Tatami and wanted to switch to a soft, large bed.
It would be best to get a large bed big enough for him and Sister Mikoto to roll around on.
Time flew by, and the holiday passed in a flash.
During these three days, Uchiha Nan and Sister Mikoto tidied up the house thoroughly.
They made major renovations to the places they didn’t like before and replaced uncomfortable furniture with types they both enjoyed.
For the remaining time, Uchiha Nan stayed home with Sister Mikoto, thoroughly enjoying their life together.
But as the holiday ended, Uchiha Nan had to leave this haven of tenderness.
Uchiha Nan woke up very early and patted Sister Mikoto on the butt.
Watching her turn over and continue sleeping wrapped in the quilt, he couldn’t help but smile.
“Sister Mikoto, I’m going to take on missions.”
Uchiha Mikoto hummed in a daze, then there was no further movement.
Last night, the two had talked for a long time, during which Uchiha Mikoto had even drunk some alcohol.
Uchiha Nan had wanted to join her, but was stopped by Sister Mikoto with the excuse that he was still too young.
He had to keep her company with tea, and they drank until the early hours of the morning; in their dazed state, they ended up sleeping on the same bed.
It was just that nothing happened.
