The Healing Jutsu was the lowest-level medical ninjutsu.
Its advanced form was the Mystical Palm Jutsu, and as long as someone possessed sufficient chakra control, learning the Healing Jutsu itself was not particularly difficult.
Naturally, none of that posed a problem for Koji.
He had already been in this world for two years.
His current identity might have been nothing more than a civilian orphan with no background or connections, but the memories of his previous life had still allowed him to carry out plenty of specialized training.
If nothing else, his chakra control had already surpassed that of an ordinary jonin.
The information displayed on his system panel proved it clearly enough.

The system that had accompanied Koji into this world was somewhat out of place in the shinobi world.
Unlike those protagonists blessed from birth with absurd bloodlines and heaven-defying talent, Koji’s system mainly relied on accumulating proficiency through repeated practice.
You could call it…
the Grindlord System.
It was the reason Koji had managed to distinguish himself from all the other civilian orphans and successfully become a genin.
The percentages represented his proficiency with individual techniques and skills.
As for Limit Break, the meaning was exactly what the name suggested.
The skill had already surpassed its normal limit.
The number after it represented how many times that limit had been broken.
Because Koji had never had many opportunities to learn actual ninjutsu, he had been forced to practice the fundamentals again and again instead.
This Healing Jutsu scroll was the first genuine ninjutsu scroll he had ever gotten his hands on.
After all, the Ninja Academy taught things like the basic Three Academy Techniques, the Body Flicker Technique, and chakra refinement through direct instruction rather than handing students technique scrolls.
After finishing the scroll, Koji closed his eyes and carefully went over its contents.
The principle behind the Healing Jutsu was relatively simple.
First, chakra had to be manipulated into the green chakra characteristic of medical ninjutsu.
Before learning the technique, Koji had always assumed that this was simply Yang-nature chakra.
Now that he had finally seen the actual method, however, he realized that wasn’t the case at all.
Then again, saying the two were completely unrelated wouldn’t be accurate either.
The Healing Jutsu itself did not transform chakra directly into Yang-nature chakra.
Instead, it made use of vitality to promote healing.
That was also why the chakra produced by the technique took on such a vibrant green color.
Koji opened his eyes again.
He gathered chakra into his left hand and began manipulating it according to the method recorded in the scroll.
A moment later— a faint green glow silently appeared around his palm.
That alone proved it.
Koji had already learned the most fundamental technique required of a medical ninja.
[Healing Jutsu — 10%]
The instant the technique succeeded, a translucent blue panel appeared before him.
Koji showed no reaction.
He had experienced this far too many times already.
Although when the system had first appeared…
he had been more than a little delighted.
The green chakra quietly faded from his hand.
No one around him noticed anything unusual.
After all, who would possibly imagine that a kid who had only just received the scroll could learn the Healing Jutsu so quickly?
If he really possessed that kind of talent, why would he have spent his time on his previous team as a mediocre support ninja who constantly dragged everyone else down?
Koji had no intention of correcting that assumption.
After learning the Healing Jutsu, he quietly put it away rather than announcing his success.
Coming to Konoha Hospital had never been an impulsive decision.
He had a very specific objective.
The shinobi world was fundamentally unfair.
Without the bloodline of someone descended from the Ōtsutsuki clan, a ninja’s upper limit was essentially Kage-level.
Surpassing the Kage level through conventional means was almost impossible.
Of course, there were techniques that traded one’s life for overwhelming power.
Koji had absolutely no intention of considering those.
He had somehow received another chance at life and ended up in the shinobi world.
Throwing that life away just to become stronger?
No matter how he looked at it, that was an awful deal.
The other option was senjutsu.
Unfortunately, that road was just as difficult.
Koji knew the original story well enough to understand that practically everyone capable of using Sage techniques had inherited some form of established teaching or lineage.
That wasn’t something he could access right now.
There were still roughly two years before the members of Naruto’s generation graduated from the Ninja Academy.
Who knew which pleasure house Jiraiya was currently drinking himself unconscious in?
Tsunade was still wandering around drinking and gambling.
As for Orochimaru…
Koji had absolutely no intention of going anywhere near that man until he possessed enough strength to protect himself.
Life-burning taijutsu was out.
Senjutsu was inaccessible.
And even if he somehow became unbelievably powerful through conventional means, personal strength alone wasn’t enough to deal with enemies on the Six Paths level.
Even with his system, learning every ninjutsu in existence wouldn’t solve the fundamental problem.
Once the Infinite Tsukuyomi was activated, everything was meaningless without a Rinnegan.
Even Naruto Uzumaki, after receiving Six Paths power, had still needed protection from Sasuke Uchiha’s Rinnegan to avoid being caught by the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
Without that eye, there wouldn’t have been much of a story left afterward.
And that— was why Koji had come to Konoha Hospital.
Well…
that, and because he had already used Lightning Release to kill the three pieces of trash who spent every waking moment running their mouths at him.
The chances might be slim, but with his system, perhaps medical ninjutsu could eventually open another path for him.
Even if he couldn’t obtain enough research material to uncover the secrets of Kekkei Genkai, finding a method to reduce the chakra burden caused by transplanted Sharingan or Rinnegan would already be enormously valuable.
And if even that failed…
then someday, when the time came to transplant Hashirama cells, having medical ninjutsu of an absurdly high level should at least improve his odds of surviving the procedure.
No matter how Koji calculated it, learning medical ninjutsu was an enormous win.
More importantly, it was currently his only realistic path toward greater strength.
Because he had deliberately hidden his abilities all this time, everyone around him assumed he was destined to remain a mediocre genin forever.
Someone like that had no chance of being handed valuable ninjutsu scrolls.
Konoha Hospital was different.
Medical ninjutsu, when developed to an extreme, could become terrifyingly effective in combat as well.
At the very least, it could support someone at the elite-jonin level.
Kabuto Yakushi was the perfect example.
After successfully learning the Healing Jutsu, Koji placed the scroll in front of him and simply sat there.
To everyone else, it looked as though he was contemplating the contents of the technique.
In reality, Koji was repeatedly circulating chakra through different parts of his body and activating the Healing Jutsu internally.
For someone whose Chakra Control had already undergone three Limit Breaks, such delicate manipulation was almost effortless.
And with every successful use— his proficiency steadily climbed.
[Healing Jutsu — 70%]
By the end of the morning session, that was the number displayed on Koji’s panel.
Low-level techniques were convenient like that.
Before reaching their first Limit Break, accumulating proficiency was relatively fast.
“That’ll be enough for this morning. Remember to come back this afternoon.”
The medical ninja who had given Koji the scroll spoke up.
Soon afterward, all three instructors left the training room.
Koji calmly watched them go before getting to his feet and leaving as well.
The trainees around him hadn’t joined at the same time he had.
Naturally, he didn’t know any of them.
Then again…
there wasn’t any need to.
