“Your name?”

The question echoed through one of Konoha’s interrogation rooms.

Several shinobi sat across from a young boy, carefully studying every movement he made.Full novel: Naruto: I Broke the Shadow Clone Technique — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Despite being surrounded by interrogators, the child appeared remarkably calm.

“Isamu.

Nine years old.

I’m an orphan.

I’ve spent most of my life wandering around the borderlands between the Land of Rain and the Land of Grass.”

The boy answered immediately, offering up his information without needing to be pressed.

“What brought you to Konoha?”

“Would you prefer the truth or a lie?”

The interrogators exchanged puzzled glances.

“The truth is that a snake dragged me here.”

“And the lie?”

“I heard there’s a secret technique here that lets you ignore pain, hunger, and even death as long as you shout, ‘For the village!’ I mainly came here because I wanted to learn that brainwashing genjutsu.”

“What genjutsu?

Konoha is a free and democratic village.

We would never brainwash our comrades!

This is the Will of Fire passed down through generations.

For the sake of our comrades and our village, we are willing to give our lives”

“Ah, yes, yes, that’s exactly the one!” Isamu nodded, apparently quite satisfied with the answer.

“You” The interrogator looked as though he had swallowed a fly.

Faced with such a blatantly mocking response, he had no idea how to react.

Yet he couldn’t afford to do anything too drastic to the boy in front of him.

A few days earlier, this kid had saved a boy named Nawaki Senju on the battlefield.

Nawaki was one of only two surviving members of the Senju clan.

The other was Tsunade, one of the leading figures of Konoha’s new generation.

Both of Konoha’s first two Hokage had come from the Senju clan.

The current Third Hokage, meanwhile, had inherited the position from his own master the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju.

These brother and sister were essentially the princess and prince of Konoha.

Because Isamu had saved Nawaki, the entire village was reluctant to do anything excessive to him.

At least, for the time being.

Bringing Isamu to the Interrogation Department had been done without Tsunade’s knowledge.

“Can you describe in detail what happened that day?”

“At the time, I was wandering around the edge of the battlefield, hoping I could find something useful.

But the fighting between the shinobi forced me toward one side of the battlefield.

That’s when I saw Nawaki lying in a pool of blood, barely clinging to life.

He and his comrades must have wandered into a trap and been caught in an explosion of explosive tags.

There was flesh and intestines scattered everywhere.

His internal organs were practically blown to pieces.

He was missing an arm and a leg, and there was even this delicious smell of charred meat”

Isamu paused.

“Now that I think about it, I was actually a little hungry at the time”

BANG!

BANG!

The lead interrogator slammed his hands against the table several times and shouted, “Get to the point!”

If Tsunade heard this description, she might very well punch his head clean off.

“I stitched him together with the others.”

“Stitched him together?

You mean”

“I used the organs and body parts of the others nearby to replace the parts he was missing.”

“This is a secret technique taught to me by an old man named Grudge when I was wandering throughout the shinobi world.”

Even these experienced shinobi couldn’t help swallowing nervously when they heard that.

Sewing human limbs and organs together—and actually keeping the patient alive—such a technique could certainly be called a secret art.

They quickly wrote down the name Grudge, hoping their subsequent investigation might yield something useful.

“Can you demonstrate it?”

Isamu scratched his head.

“Using animals is fine, but let me make one thing clear: I can’t guarantee their survival.”

“Survival?” The interrogator clearly hadn’t expected such a qualification.

“Of course.

I’ve performed the procedure on several people who were on the verge of death before.

Don’t look at me like that.

They begged me to do it.

Everyone wants to live”

“Unfortunately, most of them didn’t survive more than a few months.

From what I can tell, it was probably an immune rejection caused by the blood of different individuals.”

The shinobi nodded.

The concept of blood types had already begun to spread throughout Konoha, and the village had developed methods of saving lives through blood transfusions between people with compatible blood types.

Perhaps this rejection was caused by incompatible blood types.

But if that was the case

Didn’t that mean Nawaki could also be at risk?

“Oh, you don’t need to worry about Nawaki.

His body is extremely unusual.

It began assimilating the transplanted tissue almost immediately.

Honestly, I never expected to encounter someone like him.

I was even planning to take him back and study him, but your people came looking for him the very next day.”

“By the way, that man leading the team had a pair of snake-like eyes.

He was really terrifying.

Don’t you think he was a little ”

“Stop!

Stop!

Stop!”

The interrogator hurriedly cut him off, afraid that a few more words might drag him into trouble as well.

The snake-eyed man Isamu was talking about was none other than Orochimaru.

With that, they had several people bring in a few live rabbits.

Isamu clasped his hands together and silently prayed for the poor creatures for a moment.

Then, thin white threads suddenly emerged from his hands.

They swept across the rabbits’ abdomens, and streaks of blood immediately appeared against their snow-white fur.

Everyone watched without blinking as Isamu used his “secret technique” to open up the rabbits.

As the rabbits’ struggles grew weaker, the white threads writhed and moved.

One by one, their internal organs were removed and transferred into the bodies of the other rabbits.

In this manner, the rabbits’ organs were exchanged among them.

“Only one died?”

Once the procedure was complete, everyone realized that several of the rabbits had actually survived.

They were weak, but they were still alive.

Clearly, this little fellow had mastered a medical technique that could genuinely be considered a secret art.

“Can other people learn this secret technique?” one of the curious shinobi asked.

“Of course.

Otherwise, how would I have learned it?”

“Although” Isamu hesitated.

“You need the help of a Cheat.”

“A “Cheat” (system ability)?

What’s that?”

Isamu stared at the interface that only he could see.

After a long pause, he finally said, “If I had to explain it in terms shinobi would understand, I suppose you could call it a talent or perhaps a Kekkei Genkai.”

So that was the talent granted to him as a transmigrator.

About three years ago, after Isamu transmigrated into this world, his “Cheat” finally arrived.

Besides the one talent he received at the beginning, he could use one Action Point each day to obtain rewards from activities he performed within a one-hour period.

Furthermore, when other people nearby performed certain activities, there was also a chance for him to obtain a corresponding skill.

Isamu had even discovered that the higher someone’s favorability toward him was, the greater the chance he had of obtaining their skill.

As for the Modification talent, he had accidentally acquired it while repairing clothes.

The enormous list of skills in his skill bar was the collection of rewards he’d obtained through his Action Points over the past three years.

Three whole years, and he had only obtained one offensive Fire Release technique by sheer coincidence after witnessing shinobi fighting.

The other, Earth Release: Earth Tunnel, was a ninjutsu that allowed the user to rapidly dig tunnels.

Isamu had been genuinely stunned when he obtained that skill.

Because at the time, he hadn’t been doing anything at all.

Could there have been a shinobi digging underground somewhere nearby?

His only Intermediate-level skill Cooking was something he had painstakingly improved through his own efforts over the past three years.

Across the table, the shinobi continued scribbling notes.

A completely new Kekkei Genkai was something of considerable research value to Konoha.

If Isamu’s identity hadn’t been so unusual, he probably would have been put on an operating table by now.

“We’ll conduct a thorough verification of your identity.

Until then, you’ll remain here”

BANG!

Before the interrogator could finish, the door to the interrogation room was blown apart.

Then, a large group of beautiful women stormed in.

One of them slammed her fist onto the wooden table in front of the shinobi.

“So this is how you treat the benefactor of the Senju clan?”

Her long blond hair was tied into a high ponytail, while even her loose robe couldn’t conceal her striking figure.

What a wealthy-looking beauty!
