So many members of the famous “Golden Generation” are all in the same class together…
Asahi scanned every student in the classroom carefully, and sure enough, he spotted many more “familiar faces” who had distinct and recognizable appearances.
For example, the boy who had just been called up to introduce himself, wearing a bright green jumpsuit and grinning widely to show off his perfect white teeth, had said that his greatest passion and hobby was physical training and exercise.
This was none other than Might Guy – the person who, in the later parts of the story, almost ended the entire war with a single powerful kick…
Sitting right behind Might Guy was Hatake Kakashi, with his signature spiky white hair and a face mask covering the lower half of his face…
Over toward the front on the left side of the room sat a young girl with short brown hair and distinctive purple markings painted on her cheeks – this was Nohara Rin…
As for all the other well-known characters who appeared in the original story, Asahi couldn’t find anyone who looked like them or matched their descriptions.
He supposed they might be in the other classes, or perhaps they hadn’t enrolled in the academy yet, or maybe their appearances weren’t distinctive enough that he could recognize them just from looking at them or hearing their names…
Truly, this class is filled with nothing but outstanding and talented individuals!
This was the conclusion Asahi had come to about all his classmates!
If I ever manage to travel back to Earth, I could go on online forums and act like I know everything about this story.
I’d be able to say things like, “Hatake Kakashi, Asuma, Yūhi, Asahi… we can ignore that last one… Might Guy, Uchiha Obito… and all these other people were all classmates in the same year, same class, and studied together!
I have proof – I saw it with my own two eyes!!”
As he had thought before, the timeline and plot of the Naruto series were a complete mess and made very little sense, just like the system.
Anyone who wasted their time worrying about such things clearly had too much free time on their hands and nothing better to do.
Especially at this point in time, which was rarely mentioned or explained in the original story.
What did Kishimoto even know about the world he created?
When it came to the timeline of events right now, Teacher Kootada standing up at the front of the class probably knew more about it than the author himself.
And certainly, Asahi knew far more than either of them.
He had seen it all with his own eyes!
As the introductions continued, Asahi recognized yet another familiar face – Shiranui Genma.
At this age, he didn’t yet have a toothpick hanging from his mouth, so his most recognizable trait was absent, and Asahi had completely overlooked him until he finally said his name.
Then there was also Ebisu, who was equally unrecognizable without his signature sunglasses…
Of course, there were also others with very distinct appearances – like the boy who looked as if he suffered from cataracts, or the one with a table tennis paddle embroidered onto his clothes, and also those belonging to well-known clans such as the Nara, Akimichi, Yamanaka, and Inuzuka families…
This class was truly filled with exceptional talent and promising young people.
Could this possibly have been arranged by the Third Hokage himself?
Before long, it was Yūhi’s turn to introduce herself.
The little girl looked nervous and a little uneasy.
What she had told Asahi earlier had been true – the thought of coming to school all by herself really did make her feel quite anxious.
She spoke in a soft, quiet voice.
“M-my name is Yūhi.
I am six years old.
Right now, my favorite food is three-colored dango… and my dream is to become a great kunoichi just like Lady Tsunade, one of the legendary Sannin!”
Clap, clap, clap…
Perhaps because Yūhi was so cute and charming, her classmates were very supportive and gave her a round of enthusiastic applause.
Asahi also noticed that Sarutobi Asuma – who had been doing his best to act cool and aloof – had his eyes light up the moment he saw Yūhi…
Seeing this, Asahi couldn’t help but let out a cold snort in his heart.
You little rascal… I’m going to have to put a stop to this right now!
Children in this world generally matured very early, and even at such a young age, they already understood what it meant to be in love and pursue romantic relationships.
It was all something Asahi himself didn’t really understand or relate to.
Just look at the future great villain and mastermind, Uchiha Obito.
He had only been thirteen years old when the girl he loved died, and the pain and grief he suffered had completely changed his personality and outlook on life, transforming him from a somewhat childish and naive young boy into someone filled with darkness, hatred, and a desire for vengeance.
He had made it his life’s mission to destroy the entire world and rebuild it exactly according to his own ideals and vision.
To him, whether the world achieved true peace or not didn’t matter in the slightest.
The only thing that really mattered was whether Rin was still alive and by his side…
This was truly terrifying!
No wonder why, back in his previous life, schools and educational institutions had always tried to discourage students from dating at too young an age – there really was good reason behind it…
As someone who carried the mindset and maturity of a young man in his twenties, he felt completely calm and confident and stood up immediately without any hesitation or nervousness.
In an instant, he drew the attention of almost everyone in the room – especially the young girls, whose eyes lit up with delight at the sight of him.
A cute young boy with bright red hair!
“My name is Asahi, and I am Yūhi’s older brother,” he began.
“My favorite foods are grilled dishes and barbecued meat.
I don’t really have any particular hobbies… though if you really want me to name one, I suppose eating and sleeping, then eating and sleeping again, counts as one, doesn’t it?”
“As for my dreams… well, I actually have quite a few.”
“My first dream is to open a barbecue restaurant right next to a ramen shop.
It would be both profitable and completely safe.
My second dream is to have a loving wife and children, live a comfortable and happy life, and eventually die of old age naturally.
My third dream is to become an astronaut – and my grandparents would be absolutely overjoyed and proud of me.
And my biggest dream of all is to bring lasting peace to the entire ninja world.
That is all.”
Having said his piece, Asahi sat back down.
For a moment, the entire room fell completely silent, and students and teachers alike looked at each other in confusion and disbelief.
What a truly unique and one-of-a-kind introduction!
Compared to everyone else, he really did stand out from the crowd.
Everyone else had only mentioned one single dream – yet this guy had gone and listed four of them?
And not only that, but none of his dreams seemed to have anything to do with being a ninja or pursuing strength and power.
What was he even thinking?
Furthermore… what exactly was an “astronaut”?
And why would his grandparents be so happy about it?
And finally, he had said that he hoped for peace throughout the entire ninja world.
Was it even possible for a dream to be this grand and ambitious?
They didn’t understand it at all, but they were left feeling completely awestruck and deeply impressed!
There he goes again, doing things that no one else can understand… Yūhi covered her face with her hands.
Why couldn’t he just introduce himself like a normal person?
There were so many things he had said that she didn’t understand at all…
“Haha… ahaha…” Teacher Kootada let out a few awkward laughs.
Asahi had left an even stronger impression on him than Uchiha Obito had done earlier.
This year’s class really was full of some very unique and interesting students.
“Asahi-kun, those are wonderful dreams indeed.
I hope you will work hard to achieve them.
Now, please take your seat.”
“…”
With more than thirty students in the class, the introductions alone had taken up the entire first period of the day.
When the bell rang to signal the end of class, Teacher Kootada simply told them they were dismissed and walked out of the classroom…
Almost immediately, the room was filled with the sound of students chattering and talking loudly.
Some of them seemed to have already become acquainted with one another and were gathering together in small groups to chat and get to know each other better.
Others, however, remained sitting quietly at their desks, keeping to themselves and maintaining an air of cool detachment – like that boy with spiky white hair and a face mask covering his lower face, who looked as calm and composed as a wise old monk deep in meditation…
“Hello everyone!
My name is Asuma – Sarutobi Asuma!” The young boy who had been trying so hard to look cool and confident walked over to where Asahi and Yūhi were sitting, emphasizing his family name “Sarutobi” very clearly as he spoke.
He made sure to say it loudly enough that everyone around him could hear, just in case anyone still didn’t know that he was the son of the Third Hokage.
Putting on what he believed to be his most charming and handsome smile, he turned to Yūhi and asked, “Your name is Yūhi, isn’t it?”
In the face of someone who was the son of the Hokage, Yūhi simply nodded politely and said softly, “Yes…”
Asahi, however, looked at Asuma with a cold expression and asked, “What do you want?
Is there something you need?”
“…” Asuma felt quite annoyed that Asahi had interrupted him when he wasn’t even talking to him.
But since he was Yūhi’s older brother, he decided to let it slide and not make a big deal out of it.
He kept his polite and friendly smile on his face.
“I just wanted to get to know you both a little better, that’s all.”
“I see,” Asahi nodded.
“Her name is Yūhi, and my name is Asahi.
It’s nice to meet you, Sarutobi Asuma.
Now we know each other.”
“?” For the first time in his life, Asuma felt as if he had been defeated and left at a loss for words.
He was the son of the Hokage!
How could this person treat him with such indifference and lack of respect?
Well then… this was certainly interesting!
Asuma let out an awkward laugh and finally got straight to the point of why he had come over.
“Um… Asahi-kun, to be honest, my eyesight isn’t very good.
From where I’m sitting right now, I can’t see what’s written on the blackboard very clearly.
So… would it be possible for us to swap seats?”
His true intentions had finally been revealed!
“…” Hearing this, Asahi was absolutely stunned.
Good grief… was he really being this bold and forward?
This was really too much!
If only he had possessed even a fraction of this young man’s confidence back in his previous life, he probably wouldn’t have spent all those years without ever having a girlfriend!
Asahi looked Asuma up and down carefully and put on an expression of genuine surprise.
“Asuma-kun, if you’re not feeling well or have some kind of health issue, you should go and see a doctor.
Swapping seats isn’t going to solve the problem at all…”
Once again – you little rascal… I’m going to put a stop to this right now!!
Asuma: “…”
He had been completely shut down and left with nothing left to say.
“W-well… you’re right, of course.
I… I really should go and get my eyes checked out.
I’m very sorry to have disturbed you…” Asuma had been left completely deflated and could only force out an awkward smile.
Feeling too embarrassed to stay there any longer, he said a few words and quickly made his way back to his own seat.
Being the son of the Hokage, Asuma had been raised with very strict rules and proper upbringing.
He wasn’t so petty or small-minded that he would get angry over something like this.
He didn’t hold any real grudge, but he still felt a little bit upset and wronged deep down.
He was the son of the Hokage, and he had come forward to ask such a simple favor personally… and he had actually been refused?
But at the same time, he found himself respecting Asahi even more.
This person hadn’t treated him any differently just because of his family status, nor had he tried to flatter or please him to gain favor.
He was clearly someone worth getting to know and befriend.
And on top of that, he was also Yūhi’s older brother.
Asuma made a mental note of this person and would definitely remember him in the future!!
