The war for the Nakano River valley raged for three relentless weeks.
While the Senju and Uchiha bled each other dry in the center, smaller clans fought desperate, bloody holding actions along the perimeters.
Ren led his team through the burning pine woods three miles west of the main riverbed.
The air was thick with ash and the metallic tang of blood.
Suddenly, the wind stopped—not naturally, but cut dead by an oppressive, terrifying pressure.
Ren’s sensory skin screamed with warning.
The air density directly above them plummeted into a total vacuum.
“GET DOWN!” Ren roared, shoving two younger scouts hard into a mud ravine.
BOOM!
A column of blue, compressed Fire Style chakra shattered the canopy, instantly vaporizing two centuries-old oak trees into blinding white ash.
The heat wave hit Ren like a physical wall, singeing his hair and sending him skidding twenty feet back across the dirt.
From the smoke emerged a high-ranking Uchiha commander, flanked by two elite guards.
The commander’s Three-Tomoe Sharingan spun in dark red circles, his black armor scorched with fresh blood.
He carried a heavy, broad-bladed war-cleaver.
“Kazeshira rats,” the Uchiha commander spat, his voice heavy with exhaustion and malice.
“You’ve been picking off our supply lines for months.
It ends here.”
Ren pushed himself up, wiping blood from his lip.
His squad members were trapped in the gully, pinned down by the sheer killing intent radiating from the three Uchiha.
My chakra pool is at forty percent, Ren calculated instantly, his heart beating a calm, deliberate rhythm.
His squad is battle-worn, but their raw strength outmatches ours completely.
If we try to flee together, the kids die.
Ren reached into his pouch, unsealing four explosive tags and wrapping them tightly around the hilt of his trench knife.
He turned his head slightly toward his surviving squad members.
“Take the northern ridge,” Ren commanded, his voice unnervingly quiet.
“Fall back to the elders.
Now.”
“Ren, no!
We can fight—”
“That’s an order.”
The Kazeshira scouts bit their lips, tears mixing with the grime on their faces, before scrambling up the northern ravine and disappearing into the brush.
The Uchiha commander chuckled, a dark, raspy sound.
“A noble captain.
You think a child’s wind tricks will buy them time against three Uchiha veterans?”
Ren didn’t waste his breath on words.
He closed his eyes for a split second, sinking completely into his Kazeshira skin.
The world of sight faded, replaced by the precise, beautiful geometry of air currents, heat vectors, and muscle contractions.
He opened his eyes, his blue gaze piercing through the rising smoke.
“Try me.”
The three Uchiha closed in at terrifying speed.
Ren moved like a ghost.
He didn’t block or clash steel against steel; his body bent around their blade arcs with millimeter precision.
He sliced open the throat of the left guard with a paper-thin Wind blade, ducked beneath a roaring Fire Jutsu from the right guard, and drove his kunai into the second guard’s heart.
CRACK!
The Uchiha commander’s broad-blade slammed into Ren’s ribs from his blind spot.
Even with his sensory skin reading the attack, Ren’s body couldn’t fully match the veteran’s brutal speed.
Ribs shattered, and Ren was launched backward, crashing hard against a stone wall.
Ren spat out a mouthful of warm blood, his vision swimming.
His chakra was completely dry.
The Uchiha commander walked toward him slowly, clutching a deep, bleeding wound on his own shoulder, his Sharingan glaring down at the bloody warrior.
“You fought well, boy,” the Uchiha said, raising his heavy war-cleaver above Ren’s neck.
“Die with honor.”
Ren looked up at the grey, ash-filled sky of the Warring States Era.
He didn’t feel fear.
A strange, peaceful clarity washed over his mind as he raised his right hand, revealing the four explosive tags tucked beneath his palm, pinned directly against the commander’s foot.
“For the Kazeshira,” Ren whispered softly.
BOOM!
A sudden, blinding flash of light consumed his vision.
The roar of the explosion, the burning heat, and the sound of the wind vanished instantly, plunged into absolute, pitch-black silence.
Ren blinked.
He wasn’t bleeding out against a stone wall in the Warring States Era.
He was sitting cross-legged on a small, woven tatami mat inside a small, quiet bedroom.
The morning sun was streaming softly through a paper screen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air.
He looked down at his hands.
They weren’t the scarred, hardened hands of a Kazeshira commander.
They were tiny, soft, pale six-year-old hands.
He was back in Konoha.
Ren touched his forearms.
Deep beneath the surface of his skin, the invisible, delicate Kazeshira nerve pathways throbbed with a subtle, permanent warmth—fully integrated into his real, six-year-old body.

Author’s Note: Major Project Announcement & Poll!
Hey everyone!
I’ve been cooking up something big behind the scenes, but before I dive all-in, I need your feedback!
I’m planning a brand-new spin-off / crossover fanfic centered around an original Kazeshira Clan lore expansion!
Here’s the core concept—a Dual Main Lead setup: Ren Chen (from this story) — bringing his calculated tactical mindset, Warring States combat instincts, and mastery over aerodynamic traits.
A New Original Main Lead — equipped with a completely new, unique System interface with its own distinct rules, progression mechanics, and high-stakes rewards.
How will two different system hosts interact in the Shinobi World when their paths inevitably cross?
