Seeing this, Obito loudly exclaimed, “Good!”

He confidently ran over to the basket containing the ninja tools, took out three shuriken, and held them between the fingers of his right hand just as Kakashi had done.

He then positioned himself directly in front of the target and said, “Instructor, I’m ready.”Full novel: Naruto: Rin’s Bad Ending Loop — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Seeing this, Kiyono Shuji remained standing near the target and raised his notepad.

“You may begin.”

Obito glanced at Kakashi, hoping to see some kind of reaction in his eyes.

However, Kakashi merely rolled his bored eyes upward, looking completely listless and indifferent.

A surge of anger burned within Obito.

“Kakashi, let me show you the true shurikenjutsu of the Uchiha clan.”

With that, Obito leaned his entire body backward, raised the shuriken high above his head, and even lifted one leg…

This was the most powerful throwing stance he could manage.

However, the chūnin instructor standing near the target immediately became alarmed.

Obito’s movements didn’t resemble someone throwing shuriken at all.

Instead, he looked like he was about to hurl a large rock.

How could shuriken thrown like that possibly be accurate?

Kiyono Shuji immediately warned him, “Obito, what did I just teach you? Correct your posture before throwing.”

However, Obito had no intention of listening to the instructor.

He threw his entire body into the motion and shouted, “Shuriken Curve Technique!”

Then he hurled all three shuriken.

A moment later…

“Thunk!” “Thunk!” “Thunk!”

Of the three shuriken, one struck above Kiyono Shuji’s head, another landed beside his body, and the last one embedded itself between his legs.

Kiyono Shuji roared, “Obito Uchiha, are you trying to murder me? You get zero points for this assessment.”

The surrounding students immediately burst into laughter.

“The Shuriken Curve Technique… They certainly curved—all the way toward the instructor.”

“Hahaha, exactly. This is almost as impressive as Lord Jiraiya’s legendary ‘Throw Every Shuriken at Once Technique’ from his Ninja Academy days.”

Obito’s face immediately flushed red.

He wanted to argue, but in the end, he couldn’t say a word.

He said dejectedly, “I’m sorry, Instructor Shuji. I wasn’t aiming the shuriken at you.”

Kiyono Shuji obviously knew that.

He roared, “I might have been impressed if you had actually been aiming at me. You didn’t listen to a single word I said during the lesson.” Find the original chapter at g.com.

“If this continues, I’ll ask Lord Hokage to expel you from the Ninja Academy.”

Of course, Kiyono Shuji wouldn’t truly expel him.

He taught the elite class, and every student in it was considered important.

Moreover, the Uchiha clan was notoriously protective of its members.

If he expelled Obito today, a group of red-eyed monsters would probably block his path tomorrow.

He had only said it to frighten Obito and make him take his studies more seriously.

Obito was indeed frightened.

Actually, being expelled from the Ninja Academy wasn’t particularly serious for an Uchiha.

Some members of the Uchiha clan never attended the Ninja Academy.

By relying entirely on their clan’s training methods, they could still become extremely powerful as long as they awakened the Sharingan.

But if Obito stopped attending the Academy, how would he see Rin?

Obito hurriedly said, “Instructor, please give me another chance. I’ll definitely perform well next time!”

Seeing this, Kiyono Shuji nodded.

“Obito, return to the group. Next, Might Guy.”

Obito returned to Rin’s side.

At that moment, Genma Shiranui approached with his hands in his pockets and a senbon clenched between his teeth.

“I thought you were supposed to be impressive, but it turns out your so-called Shuriken Curve Technique just means throwing them wildly and sending shuriken that should have hit the target straight at the chūnin instructor.”

Obito immediately became embarrassed.

He had been so confident earlier and hadn’t expected to be proven wrong so quickly.

However, he still argued, “I just don’t know how to do it yet. Shuriken really can curve through the air.”

At that moment, Genma Shiranui’s friend Ebisu also approached, wearing a small pair of sunglasses.

He glanced at Obito, pushed up his sunglasses, and said, “I heard you scored zero on the written portion of the entrance exam. I’d sooner believe that I’m the resurrected First Hokage than believe your nonsense.”

Genma Shiranui couldn’t help spitting out the senbon between his teeth as he burst into laughter.

Then he mocked Obito:

“It looks like our class is going to have another dead last.”

Standing nearby, Rin noticed the implication in Genma’s words.

She looked toward Might Guy, who had just stepped forward, and asked, “When you say ‘another dead last,’ do you mean him as well as Obito?”

Lord Hokage had approved Might Guy’s admission that day, so from now on, Guy was also their classmate.

Genma Shiranui replied, “Of course I mean him. I’ve been watching him for several days. He’s just a simple-minded brute. He’ll definitely be terrible at precise techniques like shurikenjutsu.”

Indeed, as soon as the instructor gave the command, the nervous Might Guy threw his shuriken using an improper stance.

Although his shuriken carried plenty of force, they flew wildly in every direction and landed even farther from the target than Obito’s had.

Seeing this, Rin remembered Obito’s situation and couldn’t help but sympathize with Guy.

Previously, she wouldn’t have dared to say anything when faced with her classmates’ mockery.

For some reason, however, a sudden impulse rose within her, and she loudly retorted:

“What’s wrong with being dead last? Even someone in last place can become a powerful shinobi through hard work.”

“A dead last can even become Hokage!”

As soon as she said that, everyone laughed even louder.

No one held back simply because Rin was a girl.

Seeing this, Obito glared at the students mocking them.

He knew that Rin was defending him.

“What are you laughing at? I’m telling you, I’ll definitely become Hokage one day, and I’ll make every one of you regret laughing at me!”

However, one of the children replied:

“Is that so? If you’re the dead last, doesn’t that mean Rin, who always plays with you, is also a dead last?”

“If she’s so capable, then let her demonstrate.”

Seeing this, Obito’s eyes began turning red, and cold chakra suddenly gathered within them.

Rin sensed the familiar change within Obito and was startled.

Was his Sharingan about to awaken again?

Using those eyes seemed to place an enormous burden on Obito.

She grabbed Obito’s hand and looked at him seriously.

“Obito, let me go. I’ll prove that everything you said is true. Shuriken really can curve through the air—and in a very wide arc.”

An apologetic look appeared in Obito’s eyes.

“I’m sorry, Rin. I dragged you into this. You don’t blame me, do you?”

Rin smiled and shook her head.

“Obito, when have I ever blamed you?”

However, remembering what had happened that morning, she couldn’t help adding, “Of course, you’re not allowed to do anything like that again.”

Obito didn’t know exactly what she meant by “anything like that,” but he immediately smiled.

“Is that so? Then I’ll be more careful next time.”

Looking at Obito’s smiling face, Rin couldn’t help thinking, “Obito is always like this. A little encouragement is enough to make him beam.”

At that moment, the instructor recording the results said, “Might Guy, zero points. Next… Rin Nohara, you’re up.”

Rin confidently nodded, took three shuriken from the basket, and stood in front of the target.

She took a deep breath.

“All right. Here I go!”

It really helps the fic grow!
